Cardschat?

My friend's Dad has played online since 2003 and all of his hands have been for play-money. He has notes on regs and is routinely tilted by their "unbelievably bad" play.

To be honest, I noticed it in myself about a year ago when a fellow regular shipped the 3,000x $60 Jackpot for $180,000. I was legitimately upset because he 'runs good vs me' and I thought he was less "deserving" than I was. Eventually I learned to keep the jealousy/anger in check and then Stars came out with the 1M Jackpots, which sent me back to square one.

At this point, I've learned to celebrate the victories of fellow regs as I am quite familiar with the struggle and realize that a life-changing bink can really improve not only their quality of life, but the lives of their loved ones. I know it's somewhat sappy and there are tons of holes in my logic, but please don't burst the bubble.
^ Some say that doing this will positively influence your own results. I am not sure there is any scientific merit to this but what I will say is that the opposite(anger/jealousy/resentment) can absolutely have a negative effect on your own results.

excellent thread thanks for sharing.

Quiet thread, huh?

As the title states, I'm still grinding albeit at a much slower rate these days. Goals for the month are 3000 Spins and, uhh, that's really it as for as poker goes.

Got 'rolled today in the stable.

First time I've been stolen from since March or so, and I had forgotten how much it hurts. The money lost isn't really bothersome, sure it's $2000 and I can buy a lot of unnecessary stuff with $2000, but I experience those sort of swings on a daily basis. The part that hurts is knowing that I got swindled by someone who I not only ~trusted, but I put in a fair amount of effort to help that person. Obviously staking isn't completely altruistic, but nonetheless when something like this happens, that feeling in the pit of my stomach still exists.

Speaking of pits in my stomach, I transition now to the US elections and Donald Trump. I didn't vote for him. And I'm pretty despondent about the entire situation, enough so where I didn't sleep much Monday night and instead spent time writing rebuttals on Facebook to people who supported him.

As a straight, white male who makes $250k+ a year, I suppose I should be happy as his tax policy benefits me far more than Clinton's. But as a human being, I'm deeply saddened that fear and hatred towards marginalized groups was galvanized and is now more 'acceptable' than ever. Don't think I'll be moving back to the US anytime soon, even if online poker does finally get legislated/approved, which is certainly more likely under a President who owns a casino.

Clearly NOT, since more people playing in their homes = less people going to the casino. He is friend of sheldon aldeson too, so I don't think it will be possible in the near future.

Yeah, upon further thought you're 100% right. Being a friend of Adelson can't help at all, probably pushes online gaming further down the list unless somehow Trump can monetize it for himself. Undoubtedly he'll put his own interests in front of anyone else's...

Group is crushing and I'm plodding along in the Spins. Games undoubtedly reggier/tougher than ever and there's a bunch of new stables popping up all the time, so that trend's likely to continue. Feel pretty confident than I can do fine without one and make $150/hr in $60s so I'm gonna continue putting in the volume for now, but keep one eye on other formats/opportunities.

Month ended fairly well. Spun two 25x $100s today, shipped them both. Last one felt a bit dirty, as I got in K5o vs AA but flopped a 5 and turned another one. Ran below cEV this month, so glad to get some of it back in a game that mattered.

Thanks to those two games, I managed to finish November within a few buy-ins of EV and with RB/Bonuses, the total profit is ~$12,500. Not bad for 100 hours of grinding.

Here's my favorite hand of the month (vs a non-reg)

https://www.boomplayer.com/21641463_B445939697

Had planned on staying with $60s for a while, but a week or so ago when Rayden dropped down to play them, I figured I might as well play $100s as no one destroys my cEV quicker than Rayden. Results have been great since. Going to stick with $100s for December unless I see Rayden again, then I'll drop down to $60s or play Beat the Clock or whatever the **** game he's not in. Hoping to get in 3000-4000 games and enjoy the final month of 45% RB.

Stable had its best month to date, profit wise, which is pretty sick considering it came on the heels of the best month to date (October).

Kind of excited about 2017, even though my grind will likely get more complex. Moving away from Stars means I'll have to deal with the annoyances of smaller sites and worse software, but the trade-off for that is higher RB, softer games, and better customer support. Crazy to think how much the product has gone downhill in ~2 years. Welp, gl to me and the rest of us grinding out our last month of Stars' games.

Probably missed some big announcement but what exactly is gonna change on stars that you'll stop playing there?

More of the same. Raising effective rake, making edges thinner, telling us it's for our own good, etc.

what on earth is letting one player effect your decision on what games to play all about? well unless it's housebots Carrel or Holz then I'd understand...

What your not in favor of 10% rake games moving forward? (beat clock rake trap ) Its good for the ecosystem they say, the fish will lose less they say. Honestly its hilarious and sad at the same time to see this transpire and see the #1 site go down in flames sooo quickly. Doubt they will be #1 in two years time at this rate

It's a 3-handed game, if some dude straight wrecks you, that's pretty bad for your overall equity. I'd rather play Holz.

I've got a 200% ROI in my 'Beat the Clock' sample.

Spoiler:
2 games

It does make me sad to see Stars fall further and further, like a year and a half ago I was the kind of regular who would proudly wear Stars gear and felt they were a company I could support. Now I'm just trying to make as much as I can before the bubble bursts and looking towards other options. Mad respect to the Team Pros who chose their conscience over a paycheck.

Is 888 that bad? Admittedly I haven't done a ton of research on where I can get the best deal/has the most volume, but even if RB is the same across all other sites, I'm guessing the games will be softer on sites not called PokerStars.

Don't think I'm the best at mental game, I still have my leaks when I get frustrated by variance in cEV, real money, etc. Had a brutal day on Friday, I don't remember the last time I was so annoyed/frustrated with poker. Dropped about $8500 over the weekend, or as I told my GF, "three Pradas."

This is sweet, but I'm sure I'd get crushed in a poll vs the two most prominent female Spinners. And not to mention, I'm on the older side of the age spectrum when it comes to poker players, so I might have too many wrinkles to make the top 10% of males.

All that said, thank you, and you are my favorite.

After that brutal weekend, I've put in about 1000 games with 50+ cEV, in fact if it weren't for Friday's grind I'd have 50+ for the entire month (2700 games). Trying to get to 4000, probably won't, but trying nonetheless.

Posting this here because I thought the runout was neat.

Profit isn't great for myself or the stable, group is having it's biggest downswing to date and I'm about $8000 under expectation. But with Xmas around the corner, I'm hoping games will be softer and I can recoup some of that $$$. Lastly, congrats to Korpie for shipping the 1M, I've been grinding 100s during each of the last three 1M jackpots, so I feel like I'm due.

Yeesh, make that $12,000 under for the month. Pretty rough session to end the day, something like down -$3000 despite a solid cEV. Just couldn't seem to hold in the 4x/6x games.

Back at it tomorrow!

Normally, I'm with you guys on Team #badcEV but I have a lot less $$ liquid at the moment than usual. I happened to hit a downer exactly when the stable hit theirs, plus I've got a handful of people in the community who owe me a good chunk right now, roughly $30k in total. Not all of them are dodging it, but a few definitely are. Pretty certain that I'll never see all of the $$. Sucks.
