If you get used to pt its actually reall nice. I like the filters you can do way more. You can analys almost any spot like 3betting X range in the Sb at Y eff bb vs Bu when Bb folds etc.
Couldnt do that in HM1 (maybe im just to dumb tho^^)

Plus you dont have to close stars to stare at the Ev line

Btw, did you ever try to mod stars to hide the multiplyer of your spins? I did that last week and it makes it impossible to tilt I might have lost some 10x or 20x or run good/bad in 4x and 6x multis but i dont even know

Couldn't imagine doing that. For starters, recs play differently in lower/higher multipliers. Have one guy marked who open shoves ATC ish T20 in 2x and has yet to do so in anything higher. Also, if I'm playing 5 games and somehow bink 100x+ that game deserves much more attention/focus than the other tables.

Had my worst cEV day of the month on Tuesday, something like -5000 EV chips over 150 Spins. Despite all the success I've had over the last month or so, all it took was one bad day to make me question a bunch of standard things. I'm sure that constantly stressing out over EV fluctuations isn't healthy, but at the same time it does provide me with a lot of motivation to study.

Rebounded nicely since that day, haven't really done anything differently except my value hands started getting called and the bluffs got through. Who knew it was that simple?

Slightly behind on the Spin volume freeroll, only at ~2300 games for the month but I'm still a big favorite to hit 5000. Despite the hiccup on Tuesday, cEV (Only $100s) is at ~50.

Out of curiosity, as I have seen more and more "psyduck" avatars in my MTTs lately, are players with the "psyduck" avatars members of the abarone68 MTT stable?

I thought it was fun how the newspaper describe variance as a fish

"nintendo stock rises 80%!!"
two days later
"hype is over? nintendo stock falls 13%!"

I've got about ~30 ducks in my stable (flock?) but not all of them are rocking the Psyduck avatar. Maybe only a third are using the poker specific version that I've got as my own:

Pretty sure I'm gonna lose at least one of the freerolls. My parents came into town on the 21st and my volume suffered over the last five days. Think I got in about ~300 Spins, max.

Today's the first full day back on the grind, let's hope I'm not too rusty.

Hey, barone, great thread!

Can you tell us what is the best table layout for playing 6 tables of spins in your opinion? I find tiling them to be very tiring for the eyes, moving your focus all over the monitor and 6 of them with so much HU and 3H handed action. Do you have them stacked at 2 or 3 slots, maybe tiled but not on your whole monitor in order to minimize the area you have to move your focus on, maybe something else, i will be very grateful if you give us some successful and least tiring multi-tabling tips.

Thanks!

I'm probably the worst guy to ask about this sort of thing as I don't use any third party software to make my life easier. Even back when I was playing 30+ SNGs at once, all I use was an outdated copy of Stars helper.

My set up is laptop + 30 inch monitor; I put the Stars client on the laptop and play 6-tables, tiled, on the monitor. Works fine for me, at times I even find myself adding extra tables.

Last week or so has been rough, the cEV took a dive (mostly in HU SB, which is the spot I'd expect to have the highest edge, long-term). It's only a 2500 hand sample, but it lowered my overall ROI for the month to ~3%. For a while there I thought I could eclipse 5%, but 'twas not to be.

Enough whining, let's get into the freerolls/graphs.

Was at 89 MTTs to start the day and loaded 11 to avoid paying $75 in freeroll fees. Min cashed one and bricked the rest, so I clearly should have paid them out and saved myself $500.

While I 'won' the second freeroll, the same cannot be said by the first. Freeroll winners: Send me your Stars usernames and I'll ship the $25. Volume total is sort of disappointing, but I did have a week-long distraction when my parents visited Vancouver. Had a great time with them/my girlfriend doing random Vancouver stuff like the Richmond Night Market and 'Fly Over Canada' but I'd advise against 'Fly Over Vancouver' because it was super lame. The four of us also did an Escape Room challenge and won with five minutes to spare.

Spins: 4200
MTTs: 100
Hours: 120
Profit: ~$25k

Ran over EV for the first month since August of 2015 and it feels sooooooo gooooooooood. Somehow did it without binking a 25x. Lots of little run-good, I suppose. Hope it continues through August!

Sorry for the silly question. And maybe the lazy question as you may well have stated in the 17 previous pages.
What are you playing predominantly of the time? Spin and gos? And what is your buy in ranges? Are they still the same from when you started this thread.

Must be spooky running +ev. Your parents must visit every month now. Clearly that's the secret.

Ok so after reading this I've been playing spins....
I have not seen so many hands not hold on. The variance is crazy.

It felt amazing, I had this twinge of guilt for a second but it passed rather quickly. GF insists that she's the luck charm, altho I've been dating her now for ~2 years and I'm more under EV in that time period than the rest of my career. That said, I'm also up more money.

The variance in Spins comes from the added 'multiplier' variance in that if you run poorly at the higher multis, your life becomes teh sadz.

And gg to you sir!

Took the first couple days of August off, now I'm headed to a bachelor party in Oregon so I won't be playing a Spin until Monday at the earliest. GL all, don't kill the games while I'm gone please!

Unfortunately no pics and no strippers/hookers. Been to quite a few bachelor parties over the last few years and the general theme is very different than traditional bachelor parties. We're still drinking a lot, but no one seems interested in strip clubs at all. Instead there are a lot of outdoor activities, like white water rafting, tubing, camping, etc.

Flew down to Seattle and from there, drove with one of my closest friends (and 2+2er, turtlepiss) to Bend, Oregon. Was great to catch up as I see him 3-4x a year max.

For this trip, the main activity (aside from drinking, ****-talking, random dumb stuff) was rock climbing at Smith Rock in Bend, Oregon.

I'd never rock climbed before and am not a fan of heights, so I was obv a tad nervous just looking up at these massive mountains. Only got up to about 65 feet in the air but it was definitely nerve wracking at times -- I just did my best to keep focus on climbing and not look down at the ground below. Apparently my climb was impressive, but not sure that's because I'm good at rock climbing or my friends had such low expectations.

Favorite moment of the trip is when the instructor was explaining the equipment/general strat/etc. At the time, the bachelor was standing right next to him (He was first up on the climb) and the rest of us were about 20 feet away. Instructor paused, mid explanation, and says something to the effect of "Oh my god, do you smell that? Ohhh one of you farted, that is nassssssssty." The bachelor, the only person within 20 feet of the instructor, immediately says meekly, "It could have been anyone."

Haven't grinded much since I got back on the 8th. It's less than 1000 games which is a pretty pathetic output for me, mostly due to more time spent working on the stable (Up to 37 players!) and partly because I'm in the midst of an EV downer. Hoping to get to 3000 games for the month but it'll be tough because my GF's brother gets married this weekend and her family is in town.
