If they contributed different amounts to rent payments, that would bring a sense of inequality and hence some unnecessary psychological tension into the relationship.

Normally 6. Sometimes more if I mess up.

Gl. Always enjoy your posts. I grind 15$ spins in my free time so have major respect for those of you that can beat the higher levels.

I just signed up for the Steve nash on Granville Street downtown as it's next to my new office. Is that were you train?

I used to train at that one, but now I lift mostly at Howe/Davie location as it's right near my place. I'll still pop into Granville one occasionally for a change of pace.

Poker Stuff:

Put in 450+ Spins today (New high score!) and that wasn't the plan, but it sorta just happened. I started late; loaded my first table at around 12:30 PM PST. Proceeded to run poorly by every metric (EV, Real $, Multiplier Variance, 3-reg games, etc) and rather than throw in the towel, I kept regging.

Caught a glimpse of the clock in between sets and I did a double take. Is it really 8'oclock? Have I been grinding for 8 hours straight?

Yup. I had lost track of time and since the gym was closed, I guess the only way to be productive was to keep grinding. Glad I did, I made back some of the lost EV and shipped my first 10x+ $100 for the month. I had bricked the prevous thirteen 10x this month, so it felt pretty prettttaaaayyyyyyyyy good to take one down.

Stable Musings:

Signed a horse last night and his first day on the grind, he got 3rd in the Phase 2 $10k Payday for $7900.

Off topic:

Spent all of Saturday at my girlfriend's friend's wedding. As far as weddings go, I enjoyed this one quite a bit. My main gripes about weddings include: Poor food quality, lack of an open bar, terrible band/DJ, clumsy speeches, etc. This wedding had solid eats (steak and lobster!), a great band, open bar, and the speeches were mostly entertaining. No complaints from me.

My girlfriend has all the pics, I'll quote this part and post them when she sends me ones that are approved for public viewing.

This one somehow made the cut and it's my favorite.

Did that 10x winning thing. Shipped a 25x too, albeit a $60. Still counts!

Not sure how I keep focus, I've never used Ritalin or Adderal, only highly caffeinated beverages and Youtube jamz. Definitely considered using substances before but I've been told it's an extremely tough cycle to break out of, so I chose to stay away from it.

Don't really have a plan in regards to the grind, for now I just want to continue putting in hours. Probably won't start thinking about next year until Nov/Dec and perhaps by that point I'll transition more towards MTTs or stable manager stuff. We'll see.

It's amazing how 2-3 days in a row can change your entire outlook. Had two dirty days where I dropped $2k EV and then followed it up with three amazing days (+$3.5k EV). Made a few adjustments to my game and so far it's working extremely well vs regs. Hoping that it's not just positive variance.

Still going to keep grinding, got 10-11 days left and the new goal is 5,000 games. Originally I figured reaching 5,000 games (with a 2% ROI) would give me a $20k EV month including rakeback, but if I can stay at 3% I'd make $25k Sklansky bucks.

Stable had a solid day, two horses made the FT of the Phase 2, finishing 2nd and 3rd for $18,000+. Could have been better as during 3-handed play the non-horse doubled through Sabou after getting it in with 74ss on K75r vs my guy's K8.

Just bricked a 25x a few seconds ago and that's put somewhat of a damper on what's been a fairly positive day. The Voldemort-like tracking site has had issues and therefore I'm not sure today's results will be included in the month's graph, so I'll post it here:

Games: 128
Spin EV: $1258
Profit: $2600

Have now surpassed 4,000 games with a ~4% ROI, the reg vs reg stuff seems to be going well, and I'm nearly done with the second (14/22 gym) freeroll. Actually somewhat surprised I've taken 8 days off from training when I literally live across the street, but that's probably because I've been grinding so much. Yeahhhh let's go with that.

I think Spinlyzer might be dead. You can't spectate or search other peoples spins anymore. Took them a year to address it, but they might have put an end to the whole tracking thing.

Enjoyed all of your threads at various points over the last few years. Apologies if these questions have been asked before.

What's an average day break down for you? E.g. How do you juggle social life, gym, food, playing, studying and the stable!

Also what do you think would be the most efficient way for a mediocre spins reg to improve?

Do you play tiled, stacked or cascaded and how many tables do you usually play at the same time?

Appears that way. I agree that Stars should take issue with datamining/selling of hands/having to pay $$ to block yourself, but I also see no issues with tracking a player's results. Hopefully the two parties will reach some sort of compromise.

Hey, thanks!

Normal day I wake up around 10 AM. It's been earlier as of late because the window in my apartment faces the Sunrise so my room is bright as **** by 8 to 9 in the morning.

After that...

Coffee + 30 minutes review
Few hours of work (Includes grinding, stable stuff, coaching, etc)
Light snack
Gym
More work
Dinner
Relax

Balancing everything is easy when GF is at work (She works 12 hour shifts), it's a lot harder when I have to factor her into my daily plans. Spent most of my poker career not having to worry about that, so this is definitely still new-ish to me.

Start by highlighting the more specific areas you feel the need to improve, it's a lot easier to approach it from that perspective rather than just "I want to get better." Being aware of where you struggle at can give you hints into what other situations might give you trouble. For instance, if you don't do well at HU BB play, perhaps it's an issue about playing OOP (and therefore you can look at 3h SB/3h BB when facing button action as well).

Oh, also -- Do your best to not turn it into an ego contest. Some of my best studying (and most recent breakthroughs) have came by exploring hands with opponents who I felt routinely destroyed me. I'll be honest, looking at those hands caused me actual pain. And while I was obviously bothered by that, the alternative (labeling them as some type of god-mode sun runner) didn't do me any good. So instead I tried to see what they did that owned me so effectively and incorporate those things into my own game.

Tiled. I use my laptop and a 27-inch monitor, the lobby stays on the laptop screen and put the tables on the monitor. Usually 5-6 at a time, sometimes more by accident.

Had an interesting thing happen today. Well, interesting to me at least.

Spun a 10x $100 vs two unknowns. About fifteen hands into the match, one of the unknown disconnects and is sitting out. A hand later, the other unknown shoves into me BvB, I snap KT and it holds. Now I'm HU with 1050 chips vs a 450 stack.

From what I've heard, the 'proper' ettituqute in the HU community is to wait for fellow regs. That said, I can't remember when anyone has ever waited for me but it's do onto others as you would want done to you, so typically that's what I've done. For regs. For fish/recs/uknowns, I'm mashing the raise button as quickly as possible. Normal? Scummy?

Well, the unknown player (Mogelwette) came back with 270 chips left and proceeded to call me a scumbag in cthought what I did was well within my right, but still I felt bad. What would you do?

I'll spoiler what I did below:

Spoiler:
Calculated the equity he lost by sitting out (180 chips). In the 10x, 1500 chips is worth $1000, so each chip is worth $0.6667 cents Since I took 180 chips, the equity lost was $120 and I sent him that back via Stars xfer.

wait for nobody. just a negative freeroll showing common courtesy. you can obv be selective and wait for people that you know would 100% wait for you, but barring that i don't see a problem.

in !! good luck !!

nobody waits nowadays.your 1 minute is valuable so he have to have a backup if he wants to play 100 spins.spin and goes av. duration is 4-5 minutes i think.so everybody need back up internet connection for spins.that game could be a million dolar spin rather than 10x he would kill himself after that ok lets forget internet connection.he is a guy who tells bad words to people he doesnt really know especially a good human being like you.so in my opinion he deserved that thing long time ago..i dont think that will happen but i hope he got ashamed after that 120 transfer.good luck in your journey and goals brother! will be following.

I'm definitely in the camp of not waiting unless you know for sure that the other player would wait for you. Otherwise you're just getting free rolled.
