Hey guys, decided to not do a 2016 thread and instead focus that blogging/energy on my actual website (Not allowed to link it because of unknown reasons, but it can be found in my signature). But I guess that doesn't mean I can pop in here from time to time and let you know what's going on with me.

My girlfriend arrived in Thailand after I finished Elite and I barely worked at all while she was here. At first I didn't want to (SNE burnout is real, yo) and eventually when I did want to, I felt bad about leaving her to twiddle her thumbs. We didn't do a ton of touristy stuff this time around, it was more of a massive eating tour. Spent most of our time in Chiang Mai, but also made it to Hong Kong and Phuket.

Hong Kong: Honestly, I only went there for the food. The architecture doesn't inspire me, I'm not a fan of temples, and the culture does nothing for me. Sorry. But the food? Epic.

Baked Pork Buns; Crispy outside, doughy inside, and stuffed with sweet BBQ pork.

Charsui Pork and Goose; All the food critics rave about the goose, but I thought it was meh -- Pork was the star of the show, never disappointed me.

Xialong Bao; Steamed soup dumplings, these particular ones were made with truffles and mushrooms. Soooo good.

Phuket: Never had been to Phuket before and ended up on a more secluded side of the island, near Siray Bay. Was a bit of a trek to get anywhere 'beachy' but we made it to Rawaii, Patong, and Freedom beach at various points in the trip. I'd post the shirtless pics of myself but my girlfriend has all of them. She booked our hotel and got mistakenly upgraded to a villa. Oopsie!

Boat ride from Patong to Freedom Beach

It's been a three weeks since we left Phuket and the sunburns are still peeling. Girlfriend went back to Canada on the 1st and I've been slowly getting myself back into grind mode. Sample for year to date is super small, but it's going well so far EV wise.

Stable is making some incredible progress; we're a few days from finishing our first month and are already five figures in profit.

Trying to figure out my living situation for the next month, either going to be CM, Bangkok, or Phuket. Each has pros and cons. Have a few days to decide, maybe you guys can help me out.

Chiang Mai

Pros:
- Easiest, already have apartment/solid internet
- Know where good resteraunts are
- Already set up with gym membership
- Have several friends to hang out with

Cons:
- Burning season; about to get a lot smoggier

Bangkok

Pros:
- Fun, new experience
- Lots of high end restaurants
- Can get a suit made from Jhasper's Fashions (#1 ranked place on Trip Advisor)

Cons:
- Don't know where to live
- Need to set up all the necessary stuff for grinding/living/gym
- Humid as fckkk

Phuket

Pros:
- Fun, new experience
- The beach
- Smog free air

Cons:
- Don't know where to live
- Need to set up all the necessary stuff for grinding/living/gym

I'm not sure, but I think they own the property but not the land. It's some sort of grey area/technicality that allows the government to take back the area if they want to. I've heard lots of stories about foreigners getting screwed, but it's all secondhand/friend-of-a-friend type stuff. Could be false, I guess.

Decided to re-up in Chiang Mai. Already getting smoky here but it was the easiest choice, allows me to focus on grinding/fitness, and spend time with the friends I've made here. I'm headed back to the US mid-March so if it gets too bad before then, I'll just book a place in Bangkok on AirBnB.

I think a lot of the people I know have houses in Thailand are in gated communities. Are the land owned by the government, the community or the individual?

Hi, as farang you can't officialy own the land in Thailand. Can own condominium. but there are ways how to buy land too in your ownership ( more precisely your company ).

in my opinion:
Chiang Mai - nice, cheap, but a bit boring
Phuket - expensive, too much tourist but very nice.
Bangkok - expensive a lot of things to do, traffic jam, too much people, no ocean, bad air but It's more like another capital cities in Europe.

I live in Pattaya last 2 years, playing spins 100s, more poker pros is here. It is maybe the best place for night life on the world, good for single guy, not best place if you want live there with girlfriend or grind a lot and can't say no to temptation of this city
what about Hua Hin?

about set up all the necessary stuff for grinding/living/gym it's not that big deal, most of good houses or condos have swimming pools, good gyms and all services included or around. Internet you can often transfer from your old house with the same company. Just find the good location and some good deal...

if anything about Thailand you can contact me.
btw i didn't like food in Hong Kong, same i don't like Chinese food much :/ Thai much better.

edit: omg i see now... it's 1 year old post
