About Me
I have been playing poker for about 10ish years off and on. I love watching the WSOP Main Event every year on TV and its one of the thing I dream of doing one day. I have tried may times to grind up a roll with little success mainly due to tilt/chasing losses. The final goal of the thread is to make enough $$$ to play an event (or 2.... maybe even ME who knows) at the WSOP 2016. I'll post monthly goals which I would like to achieve and will post any interesting hands so I can learn from you guys on 2+2 and also give you my thought process on the hand.
Plan
I'll be exclusively playing cash (starting at 2NL) hopefully get to 10NL in a month or 2. I'll start 4 tabling (used to 24 table but i'm out of practice and would like to make more positional plays to keep the redline up rather then volume ATM)
I got 2 BR's ATM the first being on stars which started from $35 and grinding it up to $70 using FT Jackpots (dep'd there not realizing that the number of players are low and the micro stakes rakes more) and move the roll to PS after the 7 day clear. The second is on 888 poker which started as 0.12 (left over from last dep) and ran it to $8.40 playing 2NL and Freerolls.
I'll mostly be focusing on start but will try and see what I can grind 888 up to because there seem to be a lot of easy micro money there.
Because I have been known to chase losses/tilt i'm hoping this post will keep me honest and stick to the game plan. So no HU Hypers/SNGs/MTTs/Spin n' Gos (even tho these are strangely addicting even tho I know there bad)
Current BR $70 (PS), $8.40 (888)
December Goals
[ ] Hit 50K Hands of 2NL (Currently <1K)
[ ] Move to 4 Tabling 5NL once BR hits $150
Well first session in the books and it went quite well. I decided after reading a 2p2 members post that FT is pretty fishy and notices there was a "Millionaires Club Lounge" promo going on I would deposit. Just for depositing $25 i would instantly get $5 so that pretty +EV in my books.
Also I'm splitting my time just to take advantage of the promos going on:
888 Gift Showers, PS Christmas Calendar, FT Millionaires Club Lounge
Session
FT (2-4 Tabling): 349 Hands +1.73 (+5 For Dep, +2.50 Ring Ticket for Knocking 3 ppl out)
888 (Single Tabling): 33 Hands +1.04
Results: $3.42 pot ($0.21 rake)
Final Board: 6 3 K 4 3
MP1 showed A K and won $3.21 ($2.30 net)
MP3 mucked and lost (-$0.91 net)
Hero showed A J and lost (-$0.91 net)
SB mucked 8 K and lost (-$0.67 net)
Played a short session at lunch and was up about $1 then I had this hand. I limp here just to mix up my play and table has been calling 3x raises all session. Figured I had odds for my nut straight draw after the flop, then on the turn it also gave me the nut flush draw. I figured this is a good spot to 3 bet the raiser and figured the other guy would fold to the action. When the other guy flats and then I get 4 bet by original raiser..... can I let the hand go? or just shove and pray?
Turn: ($0.29) 9 (4 players)
BB bets $0.22, MP2 folds, Hero raises to $0.60, BTN calls $0.60, BB raises to $2.26, Hero raises to $2.59 and is all-in, BTN calls $1.50 and is all-in, BB calls $0.33
River: ($7.57) A (3 players, 2 are all-in)
Spoiler:
Results: $7.57 pot ($0.26 rake)
Final Board: 2 J K 9 A
BB showed J 9 and won $0.95 (-$1.71 net)
MP2 mucked and lost (-$0.07 net)
Hero showed A T and lost (-$2.66 net)
BTN showed Q T and won $6.36 ($4.19 net)
Forgot to mention I figured that the other player would call the All-In because he called the 3b knowing i'm behind if I hit either draw I win the pot. Think it is giving me 3.5:1 implied odds (vs the 2.5:1 odds i'm getting from the raiser). I think its a tight spot that maybe is a better fold.
