Firstly I would like to give a shout-out to H0RUS for inspiring the idea for this thread.

A little background:
Ever since Black Friday I more or less lost interest in online poker. I was just starting to gain traction on Full Tilt, being staked and coached for $5 and eventually $11 45-man SNGs. Within a month I more than doubled my staker's investment in me as well as gave a significant boost to my own bankroll. Then April 15th, 2011 dropped down like an anvil and my somewhat lucrative hobby was over. Thankfully years later my FTP balance was finally returned, but my trust in online poker was justifiably shaken. I dabbled on WPN and Bovada here and there, but could never gain any momentum as far as building a bankroll. I turned a small profit on Bovada playing Zone using their Welcome Deposit Bonus, but just withdrew it afterward and pretty much wrote off online poker after that.

That brings us to 2018.

I had noticed that Ignition became its own skin after acquiring Bovada, so I decided to once again try and profit off the Welcome Bonus. I deposited $400, and played 25NL Zone for the first few weeks to try and unlock my bonus. When February rolled around, I stumbled across H0RUS' PG&C thread, which at the time focused on his $50 6-max DON volume. Seeing his graphs made me wonder if I could pull off something similar. I was already used to monotony of multi-tabling the 45-man SNGs. So this couldn't be too much different, right? I could definitely not afford to play the $50s, but I was somewhat comfortably rolled for the $10's, as I had built my initial $400 deposit into just over $500. Well, 1000 games later...

That helped my bankroll grow to $1250, though it took almost two months, over a combined 158 hours. A variety of IRL situations impacted my volume. But my current roll is enough for me to feel comfortable tackling the $20 DONs. So that's where this challenge will start. If my bankroll dips below $750, I'll drop to the $10s until I'm back over.

May Goals:
[ ] Play 750 games by the end of May 31st
[ ] Play a minimum 10 games every calendar day of May
[ ] Don't let individual wins/losses affect me mentally
[ ] Average $1.25 profit per game (I think something like $1.50+ is attainable, but I'm starting with low expectations).

YO! I just started up poker again after not playing for 2 years. I tried playing micros PLO and feel the rake is making it tough to beat. So I literally just finished my first day of grinding 10 DoN's on ignition instead. GL and subbed

Thank you, Umph. DON strategy seems pretty straightforward, and I'd like to think I have a good handle on it, though I'm sure there are situations where I'm not playing 100% optimally. So yeah, I suppose I could post some interesting spots whenever they arise.

Here's the graph after two days:

May 1st: 12 games
May 2nd: 18 games

And I'm currently in the middle of May 3rd's session. Volume is lacking slightly, but I should be able to catch things up over the weekend.

May Goals:
[ 30/750 ] Play 750 games by the end of May 31st
[ 2/31 ] Play a minimum 10 games every calendar day of May
[ ] Don't let individual wins/losses affect me mentally
[ ] Average $1.25 profit per game

Got in a lot of volume over the weekend. I'm just about on pace for 750 games for the month. The graph below is missing a handful of the games played on Sunday night.

May 1st: 12 games
May 2nd: 18 games
May 3rd: 14 games
May 4th: 24 games
May 5th: 32 games
May 6th: 41 games

May Goals:
[ 141/750 ] Play 750 games by the end of May 31st.
[ 6/31 ] Play a minimum 10 games every calendar day of May.
[ ] Don't let individual wins/losses affect me mentally. (So far so good.)
[ ] Average $1.25 profit per game. (So far so good.)

Thanks, H0RUS. Yeah, all is well. Here's some cliffs of what has happened since the thread began:

-Played 1000 games of $10 DONs from February-April, profited 72 buy-ins to boost my bankroll to $1250.
-Started playing $20 DONs in May.
-Played 600 games of $20 DONs from May-July, lost 8-buy-ins.
-IRL commitments forced me to stop playing over the next few months.
-Started playing again in late October, tried 25NL 6-max. Lost 5 buy-ins over 10k hands.

This brings us to the present. With my bankroll now back down to $950, I've decided to go back to the games that built my bankroll in the first place, the $10 DONs. I got in a couple sessions this past weekend totaling 51 games, and finished down a whopping 11.5 buy-ins (21 games won, 30 lost, with 15 of those losses being in 4th place). Didn't matter how many times I got it in good, I just wasn't destined to win those days.

The goal now is to complete another 1000 games (hopefully it doesn't take more than 2 months; gunning for completion before January 1st 2019) and then assess where to go from there depending on the results. Stay at $10? Move back up to $20? We'll see.

Hey man,

finaly someone playing DONs. Im also playing DONs 5$ on PP. Im looking forward for some contact, we can discuss some theory.

My goals is to play at least 30 DONs a day, besides full time job (8h a day) (IT engineer) and father of 1 year old twins (girls).

Im thinking to start my own thread as well, but ATM, there is no time . What software do you use?

Hello there.

30 DONs a day with a full-time job is tough. I've been typically trying for 15-20 on weekdays, then I load up on 30+ on weekend days when I have the time.

I play on Ignition, but have not the past several days due to their last update causing major issues.

Yes its tough. I try to play 30 a day, but as you say, usually about 20-25, on weekend more + add some MTT.

Any good articles about DONs? What you use for study? I use ICM and study HH, checking for mistakes (usually bad calls :P ).

Im in for update, when it comes .
