Try to play more live games and quit betting on sports as the house always wins! Get more hours and learn something that makes money consistently. I make money playing poker only bc I can afford to lose, which will help your game. You will have to make 8-9k per month to hit $100k annually which isnt really a lot of money. Good Luck

Yooo Big Baller!

Closest casino to me is 90 minutes. Online is much more convenient and preferred tbh. I'm currently working on monetizing a few projects that will hopefully bring in a passive, supplemental income.

I appreciate all the advice! Going to have to respectfully disagree on the "house always wins" when applied to sports betting, though. While not many people are successful long-term (just like poker), it's definitely beatable if you're willing to put in the work (like anything else). There are many people out there currently who make their entire income from betting, and even more who make a supplemental income out of it!

I made money selling picks but felt bad when people lost money. Parlays and increasing bets after winning or losing a lot is where most people fail.

How the **** can you survive on $25k a year? And how can you afford to bet on sports making $25k a year? I would stick to the day job man. After reading your post I highly doubt you could make $100k a year playing poker. And what's this vague I'm working on a side project to generate passive income stuff? Sounds like a bunch of BS to me.

Agree that bankroll management tends to kill people in a lot of areas in life. People constantly want to hit the home run, when in reality, it's about bunts and singles.

Hey Quaddeuce,

There are many people out there in this world who survive on way less than 25k/year

As stated in my initial post - I have a gf, so I'm not the sole income in the house. I also make a few extra thousand/year from poker in my downtime in the winter, as well as from betting. We're not stupid. We haven't accrued any debt. We also aren't very materialistic. We don't constantly splurge our disposable income on meaningless objects like many people do.

Also, as stated in the initial post, my goal is not to make 6 figures/year solely from poker. I plan on using many other vessels in combination. Poker is one slice of the pie. The % that it becomes remains to be seen.

As far as passive income goes - there are about 100,000,000,000,000,000 ways to achieve this. I personally am getting involved in the ecom/affiliate marketing arenas (to keep it vague). I will keep updating in this thread as I make progress.

Family is in town, so, between that, work, and driving the kids around, I haven't been able to play. I did satellite into the Betonline Sunday major ($109 75k), so I'll be playing that tonight. Some rungood there would be nice! I'll probably play a few other tournaments with it. Right now I'm going to make a smoothie, mow the lawn and then do some reading. I'll come back and update tonight when I win the 75k

So, a current investment I'm waiting on is an Augmented Reality mobile game called Augmentors. To be brief, it was built on the blockchain, and was backed after it's initial pitch on Shark Tank South Africa. I participated in the Alpha, and I personally think the game is pretty legit. They're doing their soft-launch at the first ever Comic Con Africa in two weeks, and then a few countries after that. Hopefully they don't have to spend too much time collecting data, and the global release happens soon.

I feel like the block chain terminology is being thrown around loosely now a days. Everyone knows it’s the future but most don’t know the actual technology behind it. Good luck and wish you all the best. Hope to see you on the final table one day in the main event circuit in the future.

If this is a poker goal, then stop betting on sports. Do it for fun, but don't make it part of your bankroll building.

Your goals are fine, but jumping right into NL100 once you get your 4K bankroll is probably going to end badly. Whatever you think your current cash game skill level is, its probably less if you haven't played in a while. Not saying you can't get the skill to beat 100NL, i would simply evaluate your plan again and add some stops at 10, 25 and 50NL along the way.

Tournaments are great for big scores, but seriously add some SNGs or cash tables to the mix and remove the sports betting.

Your goals are very lofty, but aim high, and in the end, be realistic with your own skill level. The Peter Principle states that people get promoted to their level of incompetency. Poker is no different. So many players think that they have the skill to beat 100, 200, 400, 1K, etc tables, if they could only get the bankroll. Well, if you never get the bankroll to reach those levels, or keep punting it away when you do take shots, then maybe you're just not good enough for those levels. No shame in settling in at a level that you just seem to win at. If your goal is to win money to better your life, than find the place that you win the most at and just keep winning.

Hey Dingus!

The goal is to have multiple vessels contributing to my annual income; poker just happens to be one of them.

This is probably one of the better posts I've read on PGNC, as it's very insightful and wise.

I've personally been thinking the same thing recently-about just going right into cash. I thought about sngs, too, but the sites I play on wouldn't give me the best volume.

I really appreciate your input! Everyone should take note on how to deliver helpful advice to another person haha. Thank you for your response

Restructuring this thing. I'm just going to get on with my cash game play, starting at 25NL. I'll be adding some money to the roll to make it an even $1,000 again to start my cash game play. I'm also going to keep my sports roll separate and give myself $2,500 for it.

Betting Record:
8-7 +$3

Betting Roll:
$2,503 (+$3)
