About me

Im 27 years old and im from Greece , my main interest are games and strategy. I play games at top level for 14 years and i still do up to this day , my main thing is trading card games but i have also played video games with some success too.

I started poker before 3 years because a lot of people i knew started playing this and i was curious to learn about it. I played mostly recreationally so far , i didnt put enough volume and effort due to other activities and i took long breaks , my best achievement was beating 10nl fr zoom last year but then i cashed out and gave up until last october.

Im aware how much commitment poker requires and i decided to leave everything else aside and focus entirely on poker and finally succeed. It kinda haunts my ego as a hardcore gamer not being able to perform as i would like due to lack of effort and focus.

Goals and Plan

My goals are:

1. Play 1.2 million hands of full ring zoom until next december aka 100k hands per month minimum.

2. Reaching 200nl and beat it

3. Get supernova vip status

I will start with 185$ bankroll and play 4 tables of fr zoom , i plan to play 3-5k hands per day , no less than 3000 hands , i feel very comfortable with 4 tables of zoom now and thats a good thing because it allows me to play high volume without missing too much ev.

I will update the thread with my score and strange hands at the end of each week.

This week was not good but it wasnt terrible either , here is my score so far:

I didnt play good tbh , i made some ******ed stack offs because of misreads , i also played three 235fpp sunday storm satelites but i was unlucky and didnt cash , overall im happy that i win but im unhappy with my performance , i can improve a lot of stuff , my bb winrate is very bad , my mp winrate is so much better than ep which makes me think im too tight from ep , it is also strange that my co winrate is higher than my bu , i think i open too much from the bu or dont defend enough against 3-bets.

Current br: 212$

Goals for next week

1. improve ep,bb,bu winrates

2. take shots at 10nl

3. improve volume even more maybe? i think i play too much but i can do more than this.

4. improve my postflop game

Update for the week

Nothing interesting this week , played about 25k hands and break even so far , I had some terrible days , one day i faced 8 AA vs KK in one day and i suffered a lot bad beats and coolers this week but i managed to turn it around.

Good things

1. my bb winrate is getting closer to -30bb

2. my overall game became better and i suffer less downswings now

3. Im getting addicted at playing , i played all day today and i dont feel exhausted at all , i have been playing 6k+ volume some days.

4. I dont tilt at all , i got out of line in very rare cases but even there my plays were very reasonable

5. Didnt lose despite i had some horrific luck

Bad things

Not many bad things this week other than terrible luck.

Goals for next week

Improve is the no1 goal right now , when i feel confident i will take the 10nl shot.

I try not to rush things , the lack of table selecting at zoom and the fact that most regs are tougher at zoom makes it kinda harder to have a successfull shot.

Update for week 3 and 4

Very tough weeks had a 10 bi downswing and didnt manage to win a sunday storm satellite , i dont recall being so unlucky again , i lost the count how many times i lost to set over set , AA over KK , A high flush over K high flush , insane suck outs and bad beats , also lost alot of flips at satellites where i was huge favorite , a big part of this downswing were also mistakes incorrect stack offs and bad play , im not gonna blame it all to luck.

Despite these bad weeks i managed to recover from this thanks to bonuses , so even though i got destroyed i end up very slighty ahead at around 215$.

I feel good so far because even though i lost so much i didnt tilt , all my mistakes were technical and not mental , i also recognize all my mistakes and i feel i know what parts of my game i have to improve , i have put insane amount of work out of the tables and analyze every single part of my game all day long , i have also experiment alot with different plays and i start to get a good sense about what works or not and what players are doing.

Im optimistic and i believe i will turn this around very soon , its just that *click* that has to happen and then you suddenly gain a superior strategical sense and start to crush and destroy the games , im usually not like that but i now feel very strong for some reason , i feel very confident at my small/middle pot game but i have to improve a lot my big pot/stacking off game. Games have changed a lot since last year especially the regulars.

Anyway so far:

Good things:

Becoming better

Ending up with a bigger bankroll

Didnt tilt

Played 90k hands so far and i will probably end up with 100k (all the volume i said in the challenge)

Bad things:

Some parts of my game suck a lot and i have to improve

Goal for next month:

Improve where i suck

Crush 5nl and 10nl

Reach 25nl (if a miracle happens)

I wish happy new year to all , i will update this challenge at the end of each month from now on unless something very interesting happens.

Monthly update

I won at 5nlz around 8bb over a semidecent sample then moved to 10nl where i had an unsuccessfull shot and lost like 4 bis but i run like 50$ below ev , i moved down at 5nl again , truth to be said i wasnt properly prepared for this shot.

A lot of things changed this month and i had to put sick work out of the table , i worked for 10+ hours some days , i equiped much better with some software investments , i would call this a preparation month for a very long grind , volume wise it wasnt very impressive due to the insane work i put of the tables and because i got sick too due to the winter , i played only around 30k hands and probably will close to 40k at the end of the month.
I also transitioned to reg cash games and my volume will be less now.

I plan to end any of table work i still have left and get used to the new enviroment until the end of the month then get another shot at 10nl.

Goals for next month

Focus at playing and not much of table work

40k volume at least

Beat 10nl for a good winrate

Monthly update

I keep winning at 5nl for 7.20bb , my big blind winrate improved a lot from -50 to -27. My overall winrate almost tripled from 3-4bb to 7.20bb and i think i can improve even further because i still do some mistakes.

https://gyazo.com/2b35fdecc9819b438b0f8a488258eae1

I had a failed shot again at 10nl , i ran -30$ under ev , lost 2 big pots preflop with AA and one cooler with KK , i also suffered other bad beats.

I was prepared for this shot but my luck wasnt , i think i can beat 10nl but i decided against taking shots , i will instead grind a big fat roll of around 40-50bi of the next limit and then move there , i think its pointless to take shots early , its better to perfect your game on the current limit and take an extended shot on the next one , it may sound like a nitty strategy but i want at least 20 buy ins for the next limit , no more cheesy strategies. There is no
need to rush and if you want to rush something then its better to increase
the volume instead of moving up faster.

I also strungled a lot to put enough volume this month , it wasnt easy for me to transition at reg cash from zoom , reg cash is far more stressfull , its very hard to take break , you have to table select etc... you have to commit much more time on each session compared to zoom , my irl setup was also bad for grinding and playing. Thankfully i got used to it now and i play 3 sessions now per day , with the proper software its manageable so my volume will
increase now and i will reach my goal of 40k hands per month , my irl setup will improve also and it will make it easier for me to play.

Despite my wins , my roll is pretty much the same because of the failed shot and because i had to invest in software , hopefully i wont have to invest more from my roll , i hate cashout money.

Goals for next month

Put enough hands - minimum 40k or 120k(if i play zoom)

Reach 500$ and move to 10nl permanently

Improve further

Update for this month

Bankroll is approaching 270$ , i have been able to sustain 8bb winrate over 40k hands but my volume have been terrible since i switched to reg cash after december , 40k hands in 3months... really really bad , also i had to cashout money otherwise i would be in a upper limit now.

I cant mess around anymore , volume is the biggest issue for me now and i want to start to improve it this month. I notice my enjoyment and motivation for the game dropped since i switched to reg cash , my winrate improved but this doesnt mean much if you cant play a lot and enjoy it and im considering returning to zoom or at least mix it with reg.

Plan for this month

I want to play crazy volume this month , i dont know how but i gotta do it.
