H1- fold is fine, even though you hand is strong ott it plays rivers poorly
H2- dont 3bet pre, just call, people in 16z are super tight otf you can create a 3bet range, which TT is in it for value, but only vs very aggro opponents, vs your std 16z villain you played well, call and fold turn, some people slowplay QQ+ pre too

H2 3bet pre is fine at mixed freq.

TT is not a three street hand on this flop (so yes I'm hoping to flop a set or get a fold most of the time preflop) so we're not thrilled to b/3bet this either. OTF You do have a history of going full maniac so I can see why people would call you with worse but this is not a good standard play to GII with TT. I can see in the JeCa PGC you said the 99 was a good value bet when he was bluffing. You're not polarised enough IMO and it shows in a lot of places.

Quick update:

I'll be looking to focus more on $$$$ in the near future, rather than trying to "BE THE BEST CRUSH EVERYONE RAAA"

Let's take it back to why poker is a big thing for me. I got hooked on this game after I ran up $8 into $80 shortstacking 2nl cash games and using 20BI BRM. I quickly realised that if I can beat this game, it's a way out of the rat race and a way to live a comfortable life, after a few years of hard work. After all, high stakes is the same game with just bigger numbers.
The reason I got started on ZOOM was the fact I had a tiny laptop to play poker on, and I thought volume was king (to grind through that nasty variance).

So with that in mind ...why am I playing on a rake heavy site in literally the toughest format? Why aren't I playing reg tables at least? I think back to the reason I play ZOOM - and i realised this is because I had a laptop to start off with. I could only fit six tables on there before it started tiling up, and that just mega tilted me. Combine this with the fact that I thought volume was king (to ride through that nasty variance), and you have a recipe for playing four tables of ZOOM.

I don't think I appreciated the value of improving on fewer tables back in the day, and I do now. I've been one tabling for the past few weeks now, so in terms of hands per hour I may as well do four reg tables, which could have a higher hourly. I won't know 'til I've tried, I haven't played reg tables in maybe like four years.

I might also try depositing on other sites, trying to see if there's some easy money to be made. This hasn't been an option in the past where my bankroll was much more limited ...but I have a job now. A lot of things have changed for me than when i first started on this journey, so I shouldn't stick to old habits.

Don't get me wrong, I still want to be the best and crush them all. But it's stupid not to try and get that free $$$. And the toughest tables will always be waiting for me.

So starting from tonight / tomorrow, I'll start mixing in some reg tables to scout out the area. Will still be dabbling in ZOOM a little though since it's my main game and I know the meta better, if you will. Let's GOOOOOOOOOO

April

Reg tables are going ookay. 3 reg tables is just over one table of ZOOM, you'll have less time to think of some decisions because sometimes you'll have to make a decision on three different tables at once, but that will never happen with ZOOM. So in terms of playing A-game, 3 reg tables is for sure worse than one table of ZOOM.

For sure there are more fish in reg tables though, and by sitting down with them for a longer period of time it's easier to see **** like who's open-jamming AA only pre, and who's doing it with J9s.

What sucks is that I have to deal with more multiway situations, and face weird donks that I haven't studied at all. Which is made harder by the fact that sometimes I'm making decisions on more than one table.

16nl reg tables have let me get aquainted with some regs, a few of which have very high 3bet %, and are capable of 4bet/folding without having crap like J2o in their ranges. I've made some moves preflop like 5betting with blocker hands. It doesn't seem to be working out.

I've done a little bit of work on 4betting, and virtually none on 5betting. So trying to pull of these new moves is probably a terrible idea. So my plan will be to get some solid ranges worked out. Then I'll look to try this stuff at 10z, because making mistakes in 5bet pots are very costly.

Made a little excel table. I'll grind the solver to come up with solid preflop strats (which will be a challenge without a preflop solver) and highlight these boxes in green as I've done it. I've left it all blank because I'm planning on giving things a once over.

The trickiest part of this will be getting it right ...if something in my method is wrong it's obviously a **** situation, but at least it'll be one of those things that I'll be able to gradually improve.

I've hopped back in the ZOOM pool for now while i brush up preflop ranges completely.

Study game looking alright. I don't have a preflop solver so it's a bit tricky to get this down correctly and there will probably be mistakes, but as long as I have a gameplan i can change it up later.

Volume this month has been weak, but of course we're studying for it.

Downer at the beginning of the graph is because I was making 5bet bluffs with A5s type hands that I'm not sure if it's correct to do it with in those spots. I'm still not 100% if I should ever be using weak hands like that and going super polarised or if I should use AK or something.

BR update: $641.68

Started timing myself this week to see how much time I actually put into poker. I won't be doing this forever, just now to see how this could work out in the next year or so.

14.5 hours this week. Could've done 20 but I was exhausted after coming home yesterday. So 20 hours / week is definitely possible depending on what my plans are for the week.

My red line has taken a tank ever since trying to implement more and more ranges preflop. Pretty sure I'm leaking in BB in both 3bet pots / 2bet pots. Not had a change to really put my 4bet/5bet ranges to the test.

          BR update: around $650 ish

As preflop has got more solid, i've started doing training exercises for flops, turns + rivers.

So I'll tag a hand I wasn't sure about, run it through the solver, and then see what it would've done in that spot with the hand I had, and the subset of hands that it fits into. e.g. What would I do with 77 on QJ3r as the PFR? Is this the same for all pocket pairs? etc...
So it's not very concrete, not something to "memorise" but it should build up pattern recognition. People do the same thing in chess when they practice looking for tactics in puzzles.

Soon I'll move onto dealing with 2x preflop sizing, then 4x preflop sizing.

As the one year mark draws close I'm not sure if I'll continue updating this, I'm clearly still in a "training wheels" kind of stage and can't be grinding out nice 20k graphs a week for a good challenge. It'll be good to know what i've done before that hasn't worked though. So i'll see.
