Hi, guys I play as GreekPro47 on Pokerstars and mainly grind 45/180 man turbos.

A little bit about me, so I use to grind the $12 180 mans a lot in 2009/2011 and was able to make a decent bit of profit. After black Friday I lost my backer who was American and didn’t really play any poker again. At the end of 2013 I began dabbling again depositing here and there and have since been able to grind out a $500 bankroll which I want to grind seriously again.
My goal may look a little weird as I want to get to the Vegas in June to grind the RIO daily deep stacks. I recently was able to play a circuit event in my area which I placed 50th out of 300 or so ppl 30 paid obviously QQ vs K9 (insert whine here). That experience made me really enjoy live tournament poker and having never been to the WSOP or Vegas I want to grind out a decent sized roll to grind these for a few weeks.

Poker related goals:
[ ] Build up a roll to be able to grind the bigger 180s up to 15s
[ ] Grind up as much money as I can to make the trip to the RIO in 2014
[ ] After WSOP continue to grind out a steady income off 180s and potentially add turbo MTTs.

I will be grinding $3.50 45s and $2.50 180s to start the challenge with a few $8s per set unless bankroll gets under $400.

Bankroll guidelines:
0-400 $2.50 180s, $3.50 45s
400-1500 $2.50 180s, $3.50 45s w/ 2-5 $8s per set
1500-4000 $3.50R 180s, $8 180s, $15 180s, $7 & $3 45s and some Turbo MTTs

If anyone can give me any advice on my bankroll guidelines or anything else 180s related I would appreciate it. GL to everyone at the tables in 2014!!!!

Thx for the support!! Lets hope it is an epic challenge!!!

Day 1: A Mess of Things

The first day of the challenge probably couldn't have gone much worse than it did but I know I have to stop with being negative every bad day. Im going to focus on the positive for only grinding half of the day I think my volume ended up being pretty decent. Below is my graph and results for the day, looking forward to grinding again tomorrow and making some of the losses back!!

Running Bankroll: $462.68

Day 2: Bittersweet

Day 2 was a good day in terms of volume as I was able to grind out 56 games, I call it bittersweet as I had many deep runs that ended badly. I have began to complain less and get in a better mental state while grinding these games. In the end I believe im down about 14 cents or so which isn't a big deal but this could have been a big day profit wise. I feel like my game is in a pretty good place right now and will not be surprised if I end up winning a few 180 mans tomorrow as I have lost most of the bankroll so far at the 180 man games. Can't wait to grind out even more games tomorrow, and I have my graph posted below.

Bankroll: $462.54

Day 3:Mental Game

There has been a lot made of a poker players mental game in the last few years and coaching is even used by some professionals to have the right mind set while playing. My mental game has sucked as of late especially today where I totally lost it after having a bad end to the day. That being said I have began to realize that running bad or variance is something I can not control and need to just grind out the games. About today, the first two sessions went alright but were disappointing as I had a lot of final tables where things didn't go my way. The session ended with one of those sets where you can't seem to win any hands whatsoever no matter how much of a favorite you are. Overall I still believe I am playing well and am happy that my volume is getting better and better on a daily basis. Here are my results:

Looking like a huge day is lining up, so going to continue to work on my game and mental game thinking about the positives rather than the negatives.

Bankroll: $433.61

Day 4 & 5: Grind Through It

When this challenge started I was thinking that this could not be going any worse and for the first three days I swore I was cursed and would go broke. This may still happen but when my bankroll got down to $250 at the beginning of my last set it seemed to not bother me. My attitude towards this challenge and grinding poker in general has gotten 10x better, beats do not bother me (as much ) and I know all I can do is grind through it.

On to the actual poker as you will be able to see below things had been going terrible and I was down to $250 in my bankroll at 1 point. I just kept my head down and grinded out as many games as I could and was able to bink a few 45s and an 180. This has basically saved my bankroll and I hope that this is just the beginning of a huge upswing. Overall I am happy how I handled the downswing and am kinda happy it happened as it allowed me to humble myself and made me more able to take on the swings. I am sure the swings will come and go so I better get use to them. Here is my graph for the past two days:

GL to all my other 180 grinders out there!!!

Bankroll: $459.70
