Hello All

After completing the first mini-challenge
(https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...500-a-1763156/) ,
I will now be starting with the next one

Objective is the same - Do not get Tilted and stick to the BRM

Starting Bankroll - $500
Will be playing
$10 and $20 STTs
25NL
MTT - Max $5.5
Will move down to $10 STTs and $10NL if BR reaches $250

Once I touch $1,000
$20 and $30 STTs
50NL
MTT - Max $11
Will move down to 25NL if BR reaches $750

Once I touch $1,500
$30 STTs
100NL (3 shots)
MTT - Max $16.5
Will move down to 50NL if BR reaches $1,200

Again, just like the last time, there is no timeline.

Just want to play good tilt-free poker

Cheers

After completing the first challenge, I thought I can take the same form I had for STTs to Cash Games. How Naive

Have been struggling with the cash games (NL 20 FR, 6 max as well as ZOOM)

Here is my embarrassing graph

At this point, I am completely clueless on where I'm heading.

Bankroll now is $271

I do not mind going down and playing 5NL or 10NL but I still believe my cash game sucks

I had completed the previous challenge of STTs in 26 days and I believe I'm good at it but there is not much traffic for $20 STTs during my time zone so I cannot put in the volume.

Anyone who is beating micros at even 2bb and can help or share some materials I can work on, please feel free to do so. I just seem to be clueless in terms of strategy, especially post flop. Cannot seem to trap my opponents when I successfully mine a set and cannot fold AK with AKX flop when someone goes all in with a set on flop. Just seem to be struggling with such hands and river bets

Will be taking a break for a while.

DOOMED

Need to probably start with 2NL as far as cash games are concerned

Bankroll down to $87

Ain't giving up though. Will grind as long as time it takes but definitely not depositing for a while

Sighhhh....

Maybe get a subscription to learn how to play cash and compare what your doign to what the vids are doing to see where you are making mistakes. If you want to trap players you gotta do it versus certain players. Certain regs if they are in position they will float every flop even at 25nl. They think they are phil ivey and everytime i had abig hand i would check the turn to them and let them barrel. Then you got nut peddling nit regs which is about 90% of the pool that just bet when they have the nuts. Those guys you just bet and barrel you can't slow play cause they dont bluff. You need to understand what kind of opponent your up against on whether to trap or not. Who to hero call who to hero fold too. And that comes from learning about your opponents over time. There is a lot of free material on you tube btw for cash games. Just write down what your leaks are and fix them. YOu will get better over time just like the rest of us it always starts off rough but you take notes and improve over time. Good thing is it cant get any worse so you can only get better from here. The fact you are humbled and want to get better is the best way to start a poker career in cash games. You will improve over a guy who thinks he a end boss and doesn't need to improve after a few sessions. I know plenty of those guys who think they know more then me about poker after i try to help them out. They have to learn the hard way sometimes.

I by no means am a pro, or even for sure I am a long term winning player, but I too am starting from $500 as well. Maybe you should look into the stakes you were playing at.

If I were you I would reload and start at the lower stakes.
With $500 you only have
50 BI for $10 STT (Too aggressive)
25 BI for $20 STT (Too aggressive)
20 BI for 25NL (Too aggressive)
$5.5 ABI for MTT (This is great!!)

Not only do you have a high risk of ruin, but the play at the 25NL is tough depending on what site you’re on.

Try 5NL and 10NL and gradually go up in tables and then go up in stakes. You will have 50-100BI (much smaller swings).

If anyone is crushing 25NL please feel free to burn me. I would never play cash w/o at least 50BI.

Reload my friend and take your time!!
