Congratulations so far to the OP - keep playing like a boss

With regards to the mortgage situation, are you not tempted to use the £500k to just flat-out buy somewhere? You've shown you're able to rebuild a roll pretty much at a whim and to be able to live mortgage-free at your age would be sick as ****.

Update in the tournament = GG.

Blinds 150/300 with 25 ante, I have 37,000 stack, average 24k. Utg raises to 1100, I 3bet AA with lag image, the donk chipleader auto ships all in holding what he perceives as the nuts, 99. Utg calls with KK. I call.

Flop 9xx.

To go chipleader aswell...

Back to the online game soon.

Nah I get too bored with live games tbh mate, sometimes play after a night out but staying away from the casino until my challenge gets (hopefully) done.

Hey all, quick update:

Back from Barcelona just now, so the grind will commence again very soon. Got to take my laptop into repair tomorrow though as the fan has stopped working and I tried to play on it earlier but the result was steam/smoke coming out of it so shut it down straight away.

I had been putting in some hands though whilst I was in Barca, will post graph of total hands since the challenge started when I can run my laptop again without having the fan problems.

I will be updating the thread daily again with hands/graphs etc, will reply to all the PM's and the above messages in the thread that I haven't yet done so to tomorrow!

It feels good to be back... But now to bed.

Ok - Went to PC World today - They said that it will take them 14 days to send it away to get a new fan etc. I had my mind on grinding everyday this month so I bought a new laptop today, will get everything set up tonight - Hem, all my poker clients, etc. Prob put in a small session tonight but ready to have a big one tomorrow!

I told them to back up my old database so I can put it onto my new laptop some point in the future.

I think my total profit in the challenge so far was ~ £58-59,000.

Anyway, will sort out in the near future, and grind on the new computer for now.

Briefly, I'm going to set two main objectives for August...

1. To play a minimum of 100,000 hands (from Wed 3 August --> Fri 26 Aug). Total of 23 days, so 4348 hands on averday each day. I'm going away Sat 27th Aug to the following Tues - a road trip to Croatia to the Outlook Festival (hence why my month will end 5 days early).

2. In terms of profit; £60,000. I could earn £30,000 (w/o rakeback, bonuses etc) and run horrible, but as long as I play the 100,000 hands (which I will) - rakeback etc should give me a £40k or so month, which would still be on course to reach the overall goal of £500k in a year. On the other hand I could have a big heater of a month and make £80-90k+... So i'll say £60k in August and I'll be happy with the month.

Probably in April-May this year when I won around £130,000 in 3-4 weeks.

I'll hopefully change that in the next 6 months.

First session since being back from Barca, ends with around £8000 profit.

Going to leave my laptop on tonight to upload all my hands from my other laptop ready for a 5k hand minimum day tomorrow.

I have some interesting hands which happened tonight, which I'll do tomorrow...

Hi Coopah,

Big fan of this thread. Have you always played the Euro sites? If so have you found them to be a bit softer?

I've tried Euro sites, but I find the interface so tilting! PokerStars is pretty reg infested as you go up but the interface is so much better IMO.

Probably like 99.8% of my cash hands have been played on Euro sites. I once ran up $600 to like $60,000 on FTP in my first year at Uni then played ridic stakes with all I had (didn't know what BRM was) and gg'd the account after losing like $50k and cashing out the remainder $10k. Not played on that since.

Stars - Never sent in any ID to increase deposit limits and don't like the layout/lobby for some reason so just never bothered with it. Plus never had the time to dedicate myself to becoming a SNE which I think I'd want to make it worth my time there.

I guess I'm just used to all the Euro one's now after 4-5 years of use.

Dont think its a good idea to set yourself goals like this.. hands # ok.. expecting a long term winrate of x is ok.. but shortterm winrate.. ooh.. as i said in your pm. i play a bit lower but i have a winrate similar to yours at my stake.. and i have been in a dark ****hole for 7months.. You always think variance is not that bad because you're so good untill that day where you get the same variance as the guys who complain so much and you think are just bad(which they are most of the time, but you dont win much more than them once you get their luck)

gl though, i dont wish it on anyone
