History: 2 years ago, introduced to poker by college roommate (he had several thousand in winning from live tourneys and cash games). Fell in love with the game, started playing in free bar league at campus pub, got 2nd place, won some merchandise and a couple flats of beer.
Started reading about the game, watching pro games, made my first deposit on full tilt. With help from my friend and after watching youtube vids, and reading forum articles and books (got 5 free books from 2+2) was able to win some micro stakes sng tournaments. I won several 90 man sng’s, and several rush tournaments on full tilt (est $400 in winnings). I was able to cash fairly often in the 9-mans, but I got bored of grinding for hours only to win a few bucks.
I did not learn about bankroll management and blew my winnings on live cash games, turbo sng’s, hyper turbos, heads up, and ZOOM poker. I have made countless small deposits, ground it up a little, then lost it all to variance, tilt, and poor BRM.
My goal is to put all of my losses behind me and stick to a strict BRM, playing only non-turbo micro SNG’s (this format has the least variance from my experience). This may not seem very challenging to some but for a losing player it will be an awesome accomplishment. Hopefully this forum motivates me stick to my goal.
Goal: Grind roll up to $300 by the end of June, starting with $3.50 regular speed SNG’s on Stars (4 tabling) and improve my game as I go.
River: (552) J (3 players)
SB bets 40, BB raises to 356, Hero raises to 1,296 and is all-in, SB calls 1,256 and is all-in, BB calls 940
Spoiler:
Results: 4,440 pot
Final Board: T 7 8 3 J
Hero showed 3 A and won 4,440 (2,960 net)
SB showed 9 8 and lost (-1,480 net)
BB showed K 9 and lost (-1,480 net)
yes there is a lot of very poor players at these levels. If you are playing these SNG's often it may be worth noting the regs if you are not doing so already.
I think maybe adding a few more tables when you are comfortable will increase your hourly rate considerably.

Keep up the good work!
Yep, I have quite a few notes on the solid regs. For the ones I don't have notes on, I can usually tell if they are TAGy type good players if they are multitabling or just see the first couple hands they play. For some reason the $3.50 non-turbos don't fill up very quickly on stars, can only get about 4 going at a time. 4 tables seems like a good number to focus on player styles and stack sizes the best for me right now anyways.
Bubble busted in quite a few tourneys today, but got a few 1st places to catch up, finished ahead =)
Starting roll: $50
June: 13th profit: + $16.78
Current roll: $94.89
I find that players are quite weak when it gets to HU (even the really solid TAG multiablers who make the money often). I don't know if they are just getting bored, or they feel as if they have nothing to lose, but they are calling my 3 bet shoves so light it's hilarious:
Had a pretty rough day, bubbled on a lot of tables. I don't think I made any terrible mistakes though; people were just stacking off really light and hitting trips etc. On a positive note, I'm very close to clearing another vip bonus which will boost my roll by $20.
I've also noticed several very solid multi tabling regulars at the 3.50's and it's tough to avoid them without waiting a very long time for a table.
Pretty good day today, started playing turbos and 6max turbos. Bubbled again on a lot of tables but got a bunch of 1st places to compensate. I'm enjoying the turbos more as they are not so much of a grind, playing the regulars for 60-80 min stretches was starting to burn me out.
