Spade $5 to $1,500 Challenge

Hi 2+2 friends!

I'm on a journey to turn $5 into $1,500, and I want to share it with you guys.

Today is Day 14 since starting this project, and my initial $5 investment has now grown to $145.62. If you're interested in reading about how I completed this challenge once before and then lost it all in under 48 hours, feel free to check out my blog here: https://1500challenge.wordpress.com/
I post logs and screenshots of my progress daily, and I also write about the kinds of games I'm encountering as I move up the microstakes.

I'm starting this thread as a sort of add-on, or complement, to my blog. Here, I want to share some hands and hopefully have some discussion with other players. I want to really explore what kinds of games we can find at the micro-stakes and how we can exploit them, and I think sharing hands and discussing with others is a great way for us all to learn.

Please feel free to leave a comment or check back as I will be updating this thread daily along with my blog. You can also find me on Twitter @1500challenge. Thanks for reading and letting me share my journey with you!

-Nicco

As a first post here, I want to share a hand I played last night:

The stakes are $0.05-$0.1 and have a stack of $17.06. Villain has a stack of $11.06.
I'm on the button with A6
Villain calls from UTG, player to my right raises to $0.3, and I 3-bet to $1. It folds to Villain, who calls, and then the original raiser 4-bets to $2.50. I call and so does Villain, and we go to the flop 3-handed.
The flop is 976
Villain donk-bets $2, original raiser folds, and I shove all-in. Villain calls and has KT
The turn is Q and the river is Q, giving Villain a flush.

What do you guys think of the way I played this, especially the decision to shove on the river? I'm curious to hear any comments, and then I will give more information on what my thought process was at the time and why I played the hand the way I did.

Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me!

Re: $5 to $1,500 Challenge

not much time to write today, played a few tables and ended with a balance of just over $159.00. Tomorrow I will have a longer post and some hands to review hopefully.

Cheers!

Unclear to me if anyone reads this but I'm going to keep posting because I don't know when to quit. Read about my encounter with the poker gods (spoiler, there's a crying part) and my most profitable day yet, as I creep up on the $300 mark!

I'm reading. I'm on my own little challenge on Global Poker. Started in earnest about 2 months ago and I'm about at $330 right now starting from $20.
