Whats up everybody! Nice to be a part of the forum!
A little bit about me:
Im a 26 year old guy living in the US. I learned how to play poker while in high school, but was mostly just doing it because my friends enjoyed it (and who doesn’t like cards right?). Well I learned how to play sit n gos, tournament style. I enjoyed it. I deposited 50 bucks on full tilt and did quite well at their $5 sit n goes. I bought books (90% tournament stuff), but eventually cashed it out.
Once I turned 21 I thought I was king of the world. I went into the casino like I was king. I thought this because I was winning more often than I was losing. But looking back, I was wasting my time.
In 2012 I deposited another $50, and once I ran it up to $500 I started playing 25nl. I did quite well, and eventually made it to 50nl with a bankroll of 2k. I got crushed. I paid for coaching. I cashed out when my bankroll was at $1200. Looking back I am not sure how I was able to beat 25nl for a decent sample, because I sure as hell did not belong in those 50nl games with the knowledge that I had at the time.
My Plan:
I have $400 online, and I am trying to surpass the previous bankroll I once had (2k). I would like to play 50nl games regularly and have a 4k bankroll to do so. That is my short term goal. My long term goal isn’t established yet.
I have bought Mastering 3bet Pots in 2015, and Crush Fish in 2015, as well as Double your 6max Winrate. I am well aware that this is a heap of information, but plan to take this one step at a time, continually taking steps in the right direction. I know that these books are not aimed at a 10nl player, but I know I am a profitable player at 25nl too, so its just a matter of WHEN I will get there, not if.
I have already printed out the Mastering 3bet Pots ranges for various position and actions with certain cards that I have to remember.
I will post at least one hand in here a day. I am currently working a full time job ~40 hours a week, but I have put my social life on hold while I focus on this priority. I say that because I am not sure how much volume I plan to put in, but will aim for AT LEAST 50k hands per month (don’t want to set an unrealistic goal) and proceed from there. I will give 100% and dedicate myself as much as possible because I do not want to look back and know I could have did better. I have seen the success stories, read about the hard work, now it is my turn.
