I'm starting this challenge because I want to have more structure in my game. I've been playing on and off the last 2 years, but I'm basically break even after 600k hands.

I want to update this daily and post some interesting hands after the session. Hopefully, this will force me to put in some off the table work and improve my game in the process.

One of my biggest leaks is that I haven't followed a BRM and this has taken a toll on me mentally, but obviously on my bankroll. I've read so many times about why it's so important to follow a good BRM strategy, but I've been to arrogant.

I'm starting at NL2 and my goal is to move up to NL5 when I have 32 buy ins for that stake.

My goals are:
Play 365k hands in 12months
Improve my game
Only play 2 tables of NLZ

First day is done and I think I played fairly well. I'm experimenting a little bit with different bet sizes and I know for sure that I missed some value in some spots, but I'm learning.

Here's one interesting spot vs a player I only had 83 hands on. Was playing 19/16 and hadn't 3bet once on that sample. Went a little bit smaller otf since I'm blocking the NFD, but maybe I should go higher since I have a BDFD?

Anyhow, villain calls and I bet really small OTT. I wanted to get some value from his worse Ax hands and also from his Qx types of hands. Once again maybe I should go higher?

Anyhow villain raises and I decide to call since villain can have worse 2pairs and I have a few outs to the nuts. Some villains can't help themselves and raises as a bluff here as well...

River bricks which is really good and villain decides to pot it. Obviously, I'm not folding... What do you think villain had?

UTG: $2.85 (143 bb)
MP (Hero): $3.30 (165 bb)
CO: $2.57 (129 bb)
BU: $5.12 (256 bb)
SB: $2.16 (108 bb)
BB: $2.49 (125 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.03) Hero is MP with K A
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.05, 1 fold, BTN calls $0.05, 2 players fold

Flop: ($0.13) Q 5 A (2 players)
Hero bets $0.05, BTN calls $0.05

Turn: ($0.23) K (2 players)
Hero bets $0.05, BTN raises to $0.26, Hero calls $0.21

River: ($0.75) 6 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.72, Hero calls $0.72

Here's a hand that I thought was badly played. Both from villain and from me. Maybe I'm a little bit results orientated, but I kinda laughed when I saw villains hand.

UTG (Hero): $2.16 (108 bb)
MP: $2.27 (114 bb)
CO: $2.08 (104 bb)
BU: $2.00 (100 bb)
SB: $1.07 (54 bb)
BB: $2.37 (119 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.03) Hero is UTG with 5 5
Hero raises to $0.05, 2 players fold, BTN calls $0.05, SB calls $0.04, BB calls $0.03

Flop: ($0.20) A A T (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks, BTN checks

Turn: ($0.20) 5 (4 players)
SB bets $1.02 (all-in), BB folds, Hero calls $1.02, BU folds

I'm unsure about how I played this hand. I rarely call in the SB, but didn't really want to 3bet vs the small stack and I usually don't use donks.. I
didn't have a sample on the small stack, but the BB seemed to be quite laggy pre and then quite passive post, so when villain raised OTF I kinda put v on a range of 2pair+

How would you have played this hand?

UTG: $1.28 (64 bb)
MP: $2.18 (109 bb)
CO: $2.75 (138 bb)
BU: $4.60 (230 bb)
SB (Hero): $3.18 (159 bb)
BB: $2.00 (100 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.03) Hero is SB with T J
UTG raises to $0.04, 3 players fold, Hero calls $0.03, BB calls $0.02

Flop: ($0.12) 6 7 9 (3 players)
Hero bets $0.05, BB raises to $0.16, UTG folds, Hero calls $0.11

Turn: ($0.44) Q (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $0.36, Hero calls $0.36

River: ($1.16) A (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $0.74, SB (Hero) folds

Here's a hand vs a reg that doesn't like to fold vs 3bets. Decided to 3bet for value with AQo get a call obviously and the flop is kinda favoring villain imo, so I decide to check. Villain leads out ott and I'm wondering if I should maybe raise here since I'm blocking the nuts atm?

UTG: $4.96 (248 bb)
MP: $2.00 (100 bb)
CO: $2.18 (109 bb)
BU (Hero): $2.36 (118 bb)
SB: $1.56 (78 bb)
BB: $1.94 (97 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.03) Hero is BTN with A Q
2 players fold, CO raises to $0.06, Hero 3-bets to $0.18, 2 players fold, CO calls $0.12

Flop: ($0.39) 9 6 T (2 players)
CO checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($0.39) J (2 players)
CO bets $0.17, Hero calls $0.17

River: ($0.73) Q (2 players)
CO checks, Hero checks

Not much to say after the session. Think I played decent, but stopped when I felt I lost some concentration.

Here's the graph since the start. It's not pretty, but hopefully it will look better in the end of the month.

I don't know if it's alot. It's alot when you haven't really gotten out of the micros yet... Almost half of it is on NL5, but as a reg would say NL10.

* TY btw

Another meh day. Cheated a little bit today and played 4 tables. Not the same type of play nor the quality.

Miss played some spots definitely this one: I tanked call pre which should really be a 4bet/fold imo.

UTG (Hero): $2.00 (100 bb)
MP: $2.02 (101 bb)
CO: $1.68 (84 bb)
BU: $1.63 (82 bb)
SB: $4.42 (221 bb)
BB: $2.00 (100 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.03) Hero is UTG with Q Q
Hero raises to $0.05, MP calls $0.05, CO 3-bets to $0.14, 3 players fold, Hero calls $0.09, MP 4-bets to $0.59, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.45

Flop: ($1.35) T T 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $0.65, Hero raises to $1.41 (all-in), MP calls $0.76

Here's some variation in my favor. Little bit unsure with how I played it. Pretty obvious villain has narrow range, well there's always a possibility of spew/semibluffs.

UTG: $2.24 (112 bb)
MP (Hero): $2.31 (116 bb)
CO: $0.87 (44 bb)
BU: $2.02 (101 bb)
SB: $2.03 (102 bb)
BB: $2.22 (111 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.03) Hero is MP with J 9
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.05, 1 fold, BTN calls $0.05, 1 fold, BB calls $0.03

Flop: ($0.16) 8 9 6 (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.11, BTN calls $0.11, BB raises to $0.60, Hero calls $0.49, BTN calls $0.49

Turn: ($1.96) 9 (3 players)
BB bets $1.57 (all-in), Hero raises to $1.66 (all-in), BU folds

River: ($5.10) 8 (2 players, 2 all-in)

Total pot: $5.10 (Rake: $0.18)

Showdown:
MP (Hero) shows J 9 (a full house, Nines full of Eights)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 63%, Flop: 41%, Turn: 43%, River: 100%)

BB shows 5 7 (a straight, Five to Nine)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 37%, Flop: 59%, Turn: 57%, River: 0%)

Also a bit unsure about this hand, especially OTR where I think I overplayed the hand since I do have some sd value. Also the board is super dry. In game I thought villain might have something like QQ+, Jx etc. and might fold vs a shove, but otr I want tot go to value town. Without really thinking I just shipped it. Maybe just a little bit results orientated.

I don't know if the 2 hands below are good or bad. It just felt like the best thing to do in those 2 spots.

Hand 1.

Flop: ($0.38) T 8 J (3 players)
Hero checks, CO checks, BTN bets $0.19, Hero raises to $0.64, 2 players fold

Tomorrow I'll definitely will only play 2 tables. I feel that I kinda get stressed and don't really get to think through spots properly. It's a little bit patience trying but I think that in the long run it will be way more EV+.

Here's the graph since the beginning:

Played a little bit longer today since I didn't play yesterday and it went meh. Lost with AKo vs KQs in a 4bet pot which should've been a smaller loss from my side, but I played it bad.
Made a decent XRAI bluff with a blocker to the nuts into the nuts which was lovely. Overplayed TPTK in a 3bet pot IP and then ran into AA with AK all in pre and QQ with JJ vs a 50bb stack. Then there was some bet/fold spots OTR that I just had to fold.

First week is done. Played a little over 4k hands 2 tabling and roughly the same 4 tabling. Trying to break that pattern and only play 2 tables is easier said than done, but I'm going to do it. My play has been decent nothing more nothing less. Have spewed of a few stacks with bad bluffs in bad spots and made some loose calls in 3 bet pots.

For next week I'm aiming for 7k hands 2 tabling and aiming to be a little bit tighter with my 3bet calling range, specially OOP. Also going to implement meditation pre and after sessions.

Haven't played so much last few days, but here's a little update. Hasn't been much volume, but sticking to 2 tables and started on NL5. You can see where my red line starts to dip. Population is a little bit more aggressive on NL5 then on NL2...

Biggest pot of the session:

The turn raise was a little to big for me to actually think V had a J. Naturally if I think V is bluffing, I have to let V bluff..

Been a swingy week and I'm not happy with my play at all. Volume has been lacking and got up to 4500 of 7000 hands. Haven't meditated pre or post sessions and haven't really studied at all. Have played spots badly and been a mental fish all week long. Now I'm going to watch 'my' team loose against Liverpool, so it sums up the week pretty well. Good thing there's another week coming.

What a surprise that I gave up with the updating when things started to go a little bit worse. Have done everything that I stated in my first post that I wouldn't do like multi tabling, button clicking, tilting, bad BRM and now I'm back to restart the whole thing.

Have had some interesting months in between and starting to play with a very aggressive BRM and few tables that got me up to NL25Z only to realize that I'm nowhere as good as I think I am (most of you who read this probably already know this.. )

Anyway, after sun running a bit I completely lost it and started 4 tabling NL25z and a little bit of NL50z only to have my game destroyed and my bankroll as well so now I'm back at NL2z with the huge amount of $18 bucks in my name. Woop Woop

I'll post a session result later on tonight and maybe maybe I can slowly start to build a decent bankroll again.

Got bad habits that I gotta plug:

Going to tighten up my coldcalling range IP and OOP.
Going to tighten up my 3betcalling range vs 100bb stacks.
Going to play only 2 tables at the time.
Going to fold more vs river aggression since villains don't have enough bluffs.

This week has been quite bad with a lot of passive stationy play from my side. Played 7,5K hands mostly on 4 tables and the week has been: Playing 2 tables and win a few stacks. Start to play 4 tables and loose a couple of stacks.

Bankroll is on $21 but that could easily have been much larger.

I'm getting really tired with myself.

Most of the week I've been disciplined. Playing 2 tables, thinking about ranges and thinking about how the board hits the different ranges. Thinking about what part of my range I should bet. What sizing I should use. What part of villains range should fold vs that size. What part of villains range should continue. At times I find the game really interesting and really enjoyable. Then there's times where I just find my self opening 4 tables and start auto piloting. It takes some time to grind up some stacks while only playing 1 or 2 tables, but it's so easy to loose them when auto piloting.

Anyway the bankroll is on $32 and again it could easily have been much larger.

Week is over for me and I guess I'm quite happy with the overall play. Has been some spew in the game and some 4 tabling, but overall I'm happy with my play. Feel that I need to slow down with some of my decision making in game since I make super simple mistakes/calls vs obvious value bets. Going to put in some work to look over some of the hands next week and really try to implement it in my game.

For instance this hand:

UTG: $5.36 (107 bb)
MP: $6.60 (132 bb)
CO: $7.37 (147 bb)
BU: $5.36 (107 bb)
SB (Hero): $6.42 (128 bb)
BB: $8.01 (160 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.07) Hero is SB with 9 9
UTG raises to $0.10, MP calls $0.10, 1 fold, BTN calls $0.10, Hero 3-bets to $0.60, 2 players fold, MP calls $0.50, BTN calls $0.50

Flop: ($1.95) K 82 (3 players)
Hero bets $0.63, MP calls $0.63, BU folds

Turn: ($3.21) 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $3.10, Hero raises to $5.19 (all-in), MP calls $2.09

River: ($13.59) 5 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: $13.59 (Rake: $0.56)

Showdown:
SB (Hero) shows 9 9 (two pair, Nines and Eights)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 82%, Flop: 82%, Turn: 5%, River: 0%)

MP shows 78 (three of a kind, Eights)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 18%, Flop: 18%, Turn: 95%, River: 100%)

MP wins $13.03

Should so easily be a fold instead I shove? Really really bad.

Still kinda surprised with plays like the above that I'm up 7bb/100 and at the same time running like ****.

Been dipping my toes back into the NL5Z pool, but going to grind NL2Z
until my bankroll gets a bit bigger then the current $46. Probably need to grind entire June there, but it's going to be good for my discipline.

The week is over.

I've been grinding quite much since my latest update and made some changes in my game. Playing more of a nitty style and more tables, so the volume has been quite good for my standards, but the results are not so good.

I really thought that I was going broke when the bankroll came to $10 and I was thinking about just gambling away, but instead I tightened up and grinded. I'm happy with the end result for the week and that's what matters.

Running a little bit below EV and that is fine. Over the big sample I'm way running way over so it's should be many more weeks like this one.

For the next week:

I'm aiming to play less volume and try to find some more quality in my game. Do less mistakes than I've done this week during 4 tabling.

Working more on bet sizing and extracting value since I feel I'm playing a bit straightforward on some boards. Feels like I'm loosing some value there.

Also to get my WTSD down below 30% since there are many spots where I should bet but I check instead and leave blinds on the table. Or even worse, I call big bets when I should fold otr.

Best of luck on the tables!

Even one beer messes up completely with my ability to think clearly, so playing and drinking is something that I´ll never do again in my life

I would be a little bit more conservative on the BRM front also. Maybe try to get the BR up to 100 before playing 5nl with a strict 3 bi stop loss or something like that, and then use the 20 bi rule when moving up/down stakes. Even if you beat way higher than this, this should give more peace to your mind and you´ll play more confidently I think. Just my 2c.

GL, will be following.

Sometimes I feel I play better when I had 1-2 beers and I don't think it has with the beer, but with the mental state that I'm in when I'm playing. Obviously, more beer equals less logical thinking, but think my problem is a lot to do with autopiloting and tilting.

I should be more conservative when it comes to BRM, but everytime I hit that 20 buy ins for the stake I'm playing at it starts to feel like nothing is happening. Then I want to play higher and of course sometimes it doesn't go so well. I'm just happy that I haven't deposited any money and that I kept my cool when the bankroll got really low. Just gotta learn to maybe implement the stop loss that you mention, since sometimes the graph can just point straight down

Thank you btw, hope your run bad ends soon and that you'll catch a heater soon!

Another week done and again started off digging myself into a hole. Then started to dig myself out of it again. The volume did increase, but I'm glad I kept on.

Got my WTSD down and it's just over 30%, but guess it's fine. I'm not leaving as much on the table as before.

Did work on bet sizes and I'm currently going way more polarized than before which I think is working very well.

Did work on my ranges as well and noticed that I'm folding way to much vs steals in BB. Even against a narrow range, so I'm currently defending it a lot more.

Been watching some videos as well and got inspired to actually not play with a HUD. Must say that it's been quite interesting, but I think I'll keep playing without it since it kinda lets me think around the spot instead of trying to find the right info in the HUD (which is nearly always unusable due to the lack of sample anyway).

Here's the biggest pot of the week with some really strange limping and limping and limping. Never seen it before in the pool.

I like drinking and thank you. Still a small sample and I'll see how it looks after a month or two if I've got any bankroll left.

There's a lot of videos that I've taken parts from, but the videos that I've been watching lately is from BenCB and he explains his thought process pretty well. He's playing higher, but he has some videos from NL10 at least.

This week has been **** and it's been like that since I've played like one. Passive, nitty and not able to fold vs obvious valuebets. Getting owned by regs but surviving thanks to recs.

Went through the week and just looking at some hands I found this:

-6,48 Bad shove OTR with SD when flush comes. Deep.
-5,64 BAD MOVE XRAI with AKs on QJX I know he had a hand. Just fold otf..
-5,7 BAD XRAI vs uncapped range OTF in SQZ pot. What is villain supposed to call with?
-4,8 BAD RIVER call with NF on paired board. No one moves in with smaller flush
-4,9 BAD RIVER call with FLUSH in SRP vs reg. Paired board. Villain overbetting like 300% OTR...
-3,75 Bad call vs XR on flushboard with small flush...
-4,62 Bad Shove vs B XR R line with NFD in SRP. What takes that line? Smaller flushdraw? :P
-1,95 unneccessary River call with missed NFD.? Just why?
-4,06 BAD call vs 3bet+Shove OTT i SRP with AA.
-4,8 XRAI vs OVERBET in 3BP. Not even NFD...
-4,26 in 4BET pott. Just fold OTF

This is just 11 pots where I can see big mistakes from my side and that I really could've avoided. It maybe doesn't seem like much when I'm playing, but it accumulates and over a week that's 10 buy ins.

10 fricking buy ins.

Hopefully I can stop XRAI in bad spots and press the fold button more often on the river.

Still feel really lost with my cbetting strategy. There's spots where I don't know if i should go for a merged range or polarized. I know that merged is better for dry board at a higher frequency and that polarized is better on wet boards with a lower frequency, but how do I build up my range?

I'm way under bluffing since I've a hard time figuring out which combos to bluff with. Does anyone have any good material to recommend about this topic?

I know that I should study more and I have put in a lot of work into it, but it's not really there yet. It doesn't come automatically and effortlessly (if it ever will?), so I guess I just gotta study more until it sticks.

For the next week I'm gonna enjoy the sun after work and get some color on my ghostly looking skin. Going to do some range work and try to figure out how my strategy should look like and try to figure out my bluffing combos. Then I want to implement it, so there will be less volume but hopefully more quality.

Received some chests with some $ in them and a cashrebate for $10, the bankroll is on: $173

Look at this ugly weekly graph. This is how it looks when I'm the fish and get it in badly (and get lucky) 'because obviously villain doesn't have it and is bluffing' in a underbluffed pool in underbluffed spots. Hopefully the next week will look better.

The week is done.

Less volume which has been good. Decent results, but it's mostly because I'm running really hot. Can't remember when I lost a flip.

Here's a nice hand and the biggest pot of the week. BTN limps and SB isolates. I decide to call just because the limp rec most likely has a full stack and I have a decent hand that can flop good. Flop checks around and the turn comes and I'm confident that I have the best hand at the moment.

I'm blocking possible straights and I have TPMK+FD+SD and I was thinking of raising the turn bet and I probably should, but I decided to just call to see if the limp rec would call which villain did. River is beautiful and SB bets quite large and I'm only thinking about value against SB, so I shove and too my surprise the limp rec calls AND sb calls.

The month is over as well and I've gone from NL2 => NL10 and even stupidly taken shots on NL16 (lost 2 stacks quite quickly...) but I'm happy with the month.

Going to keep playing on NL10 hopefully and try to get 100K sample on the stake. I've a little bit more than 30K hands already, so 70K hands to go and I think I'll be aiming for around 40K hands volume next month. Here's the monthly graph and good luck on the tables!

First time in 4 weeks where I actually played solid the first day of the week. Even stopped playing now since I felt a little bit of tilt heat in my body and noticed that I started play worse. I think that's progress.

Mostly NL10Z but some NL16Z also:

This is an obvious call right? Even though it feels like a flush I can't really fold right?
