I need to accomplish something from poker. I've played for years and barely have broken even. Over my 5 year(ish) run I've won about $10,000 and all of that has come from a few donkament final tables and rakeback. This is a problem because I am a CASH GAME player. Overall I'd say my hourly life time is maybe $1-2/hr. Not bad right?

Ok. You get it. I blow.

I'm starting my career pretty soon and I really only have a 10 month or so window to dedicate myself to this goal. I started this month with $30 on pokerstars.

My play is mainly 8-tabling 6max nlhe. Even though on paper I suck, in my mind I'm still the best player in the world (I should have spelled out delusional in the disclaimer but we are all intelligent people here. except me ofcourse).

I'll move up the stakes using solid BRM which I'll outline below. I've started this at 2nl. I'm pretty close to a $50 stellar on pstars which should help move up levels.

BRM:
$30 to $50: 2nl
$50 to $100: 5nl
$100 to $320: 10nl
$320 to $500: 16nl (yes they have 16nl on stars now lol)
$500 to $1650: 25nl
$1650 to $4000: 50nl

My BRM strategy is to take small but aggressive shots until they stick but move down quickly as necessary. I'll be nitty with BRM once I hit 50nl (if).

I bought a new computer in November and lost my previous database but here are my hands so far. Hands are from 2nl to 50nl.



So far I've move quickly through 2nl and 5nl through 6,000 hands. I'll post my bankroll and progress on a regular basis as well as random rants. I won't post very many hh's. I should play roughly 80,000 hands/month

Here are the hands since starting this challenge:


This is only $40.47 profit from 2nl and 5nl but the majority of my profit when grinding a bankroll from nothing comes from pstars vip system. I'm only goldstar right now so imo the best usage from fpps is the 235fpp sunday storm 6man hyper turbos. It values the fpps @ $.0156/fpp and you only need to win 1 of 3 to have a great return. Each win is good for 11T$ which I play micro HU hyper turbos with. It makes grinding a lot easier this way and it adds some diversification to the games. When I'm playing 25nl+ I use the fpps for $27 turbo tourny entries which 1,750fpps and gives you a shot at a big score.

I'm taking my first go at 10nl today but moving down at $70BR. Have a $50 stellar looming so hopefully the first shot will stick.

Lol, Quick Question, what was your Stats For 2nl and 5nl .

Have you ever considered tournaments might be your true calling in poker? SNG's and small MTT's are great bankroll boosters. In my honest opinion I think you should grind out where you have proven success. In the future you could always pursue cash game glory.

I've been experimenting with stacking tables. I've been tiling 4 then stacking on top. So far I've just played 12-tables but I'm going to up to 16 soon. This is just to get through the easy levels.

Not playing at all today. Have an investments exam tomorrow morning. Also have the first canadian securites course exam on Monday (national exam) and I need to make at least 60% to pass/write 2nd exam. If I don't pass I've litterally lit $1,700 on fire. This = low volume the next week.

There is not a whole lot new to report. I've been focusing on school pretty hard. The biggest change is my bankroll is going to increase by $8,300 next week. Good ol' tax return . I doubt I'll actually deposit any of this to my poker account. I'll be massively increasing my volume after Monday, Feb. 13th. I still plan to play ~70-80k hands this month.

Ran very poorly yesterday but made up some ground today at both cash + small donkament score. I need to continue to mix some small stake tournies in because grinding microstakes is so boring and I think downswings mentally hurt more because you think you suck for downswinging at 5nl/10nl.
