Re: 3% ROI in 2,000 or more HUsng's... my weakest game.

thx lau808... I love 808 drums btw if that's why you named yourself that.

Anyway went up to 11's and finally FINALLY had almost avg luck, still a bit unlucky but when it's not 100% awful I'm crushing these. One loss came from me dc'ing was up at 1760 chips, came back to 300 ;-\

Only had time for a short session, lots of study and hh review to do.

cheers,

Re: 3% ROI in 2,000 or more HUsng's... my weakest game.

These games are really fun in some psychological ways... Probably -ev for me to type this here, but since no one knows my name whatever, hope it helps someone.

One of the biggest keys I've found is watching the gears shift as stacks change sizes... a lot of lag's tighten up with a lead, a lot of nitty players get nittier as they dwindle, some do the opposite. Yes cards will impact all of this , but being able to really tell the mode they're in and why they're doing what they think they need can be so +EV. I wouldn't call it hero calls with mid pair, but I've eliminated quite a few recently when it just made no sense ...

I'm not 100% but again I just really focused on these, and I feel I'm getting inside the heads of quite a few.

Pressure when they're likely weak... Control Pot when unsure... float the living hell out of tag's cbetting... ect... so much play.

I think this is how I've been able to be up yet my ev graph says I should be destroying so much harder.

I don't know if I'll really ever be able to two table as effective, since HU is such a flow type feel to matches.

I can 99.999% say I think I played a pokerbot, that luckily I figured out a pattern and did it non stop to chip it down... Not cool, but I could see this being a problem, less likely at higher stakes probably.

Very good job so far op, suscribed, never heard of pokerluckmeter.com before reading it in here, tought i had been running bad lately and after putting my last 70ish games into it turns out i was at the 6% luck level, not as bad as you tho that run has just been horrible!

how do you manage to keep coming back and putting the volume in after running like that? i only ask because i tend to not play for a day or two if i start running bad even tho i know im actually playing decent.

Hey tiltosaurus, thanks for subscribing.

Honestly it's pretty tough sometimes I just take a break and come back, sometimes when I'm winning I also feel like ok you've done well but are tired don't throw it away. I think biggest thing is pushing through the fear and just going for it.

So much of this game really is mental. A strong base to get started then build on that but the mental side is so huge

yeah I'd probably be down for that in future. We'd have to swap some full games because it's hard for me to look at one hand and see what the villain is really like.

haha, yeah 808 is also like the backbone of so many drums, it's a old drum kit that was used over and over and over again in music.

Look forward to seeing hand

I made some bad decisions to be honest today, it's not all suckouts, I made two bad calls, one bad bluff so there are 3 games.

I can beat these games, I can beat this, can't play in this state though.

Moving across town next week so volume will be real low if any, I will play sat/sunday though I think. I'm fighting two things right now tbh, this and personal life. This sorta helps it's a nice release. lol won't turn this into emo blog, but yeah. Will be fun if I'm around at 2k games :-)

Re: 3% ROI in 2,000 or more HUsng's... my weakest game.

Self doubt kicking in... Down to 9% ROI and 175 total profit, some insane swings...

Highlights :

#1 Guy sits down open shoving every single hand... On hand #7 after folding others I pick up a/9 suited... I call. He turns over a/a gg

#2 Lost with Nut flush to straight flush

#3 After almost reaching point where I would move down I won like 6 in a row.

It's tough to be stoic, I try to remind myself long term. Short term only thing you effect is past. Luck is only applied to past, but it's soul draining when I see ev go so seperate from results, then see others running over ev and wonder "what if I was just near even..."

I'm really running into mental walls, it's hard to keep playing 25 a day as this streak continues.

It helps to read things from pro's at these who say "10 BI downswings are standard, it happens" and that variance is crazy for everyone.

I had to honestly take a step back and see if I was even a winning player. I'm getting it in right almost every time. I think I'm aiming to low sometimes with value bets and should maybe just shove and get paid off...

I looked up last guy I played on top shark and he is soooo awful and such a losing player, yet he won, I lost. Will I end up with a graph that bad? I don't know.

I'm going to finish these if I'm alive. Hopefully I can look back and say "glad you didn't give up there..."

beat graph coming...

Unlucky hand man, altho shoving pre when villian still has 30 blinds seems very excessive unless you had some sort of read on him.

Have you considered dropping down a level until you get some more confidence back or maybe a few flips going in your favour?

Seems like your tilting a little bit. Only time I'd open shove here is if we were around ~15BBs, if I knew Villain's limping range was weak, and if I had a hand that plays poorly postflop say A5o or 44 (8s def good to see a flop with esp. vs. weak limping ranges).

Oh sorry I forgot to mention, the guy was shoving open every single hand from 600 up... :-) yeah I wouldn't normally play 8's like that but yeah.

I think what might be best for me at this stage is to really step back and study more, I've been playing so much more than usual instead of watching videos or reading, prob help more if I slowed it down. I'm getting impatient also. I lead entire match, lose a flip then get spewy.

Yeah, just gotta tough it out I guess, like I said I probably won't be posting for about a week at least, I'm going to exclude myself from play till then. Total profit is around 70 so you can imagine why :-) hopefully start fresh, learn and move back in the 6.25's
