So, as an introduction I'll give you an insight in my humble poker history. In my teenager-years, I played with playmoney on PS and approached it as the regular video-game. Some years passed by (university etc.) and two years ago, I made a deposit of 20$ on PS, but only played between 1000 and 2000 hands. The nit in me only wanted to play very short/focused sessions. Variance was on my side and I went from 10BI's to 15 in this period. I read books like blackrain79's Crushing the Microstakes and also Sklansky's The Theory of Poker. Didn't really study, only read.

It is only since 2 months now that the 'poker-spark' lit up again, but I feel it's more serious than before. The depth of the game is unbelievable and the well of potential knowledge is soooo deep. I don't think it's coincidence that this 'spark' lights up now, after university. Poker gives me the intellectual challenge my brain needs.

To structure my poker study, and keep track of my (lack of) knowledge, I've made a word-document called 'THE HOLY BOOK OF NLHE', which I describe as follows:

This book is an eternal work in progress. It is, in a matter of fact, a condensed version of my own personal knowledge on the game of NLHE. As I develop my skills and insights in its mathematics, tactics and strategy, structured around theoretical concepts, not only will the number of chapters grow, but also their complexity.

For now, it mostly consist of summaries of chapters of Peter Clarke's 'The Grinders Manual', which has been extremely helpful for my understanding of the game, with additional information from 2+2 and so and so.

Since recently I am really trying to focus on one specific situation a time and become as much of an expert as I can, but there is just so much that I get easily distracted and start looking at 3 or 4 subjects at the same time.

ATM, I like studying poker more than playing; also I don't have a lot of free time to spend on playing with full focus, so if I play a session, it's 100-200 hands max.

In this thread I will post a graph every 1000 hands or so.

Cheers!

Recently switched to 6MAX (iso FR). It's not going great yet, but I feel that my understanding of the game has been going uphill since the beginning of this year.
