Title pretty much says it all. Here are the details:

Goal: Make a decent income playing poker. 2K Euro/m

So I need to play at least 100NL but I dream of a day when I am rolled to play live a few days a week too so I need to be playing at least 200NL regularly in order to build a decent bankroll

I have been lurking here for years and I have been playing as a recreational player as well. I love poker so now, being unemployed I will give poker a serious shot.

To develop my game and my discipline I am starting at 2NL playing 1 table of Zoom on Pokerstars. I'll take shots aggressively up to 100NL. If I go broke I'll reload and start over. Current bankroll: 40$

Any help from 2+2 is appreciated.

You go girl! I have pretty much the same goal (while studying) and expect it to be hella hard because I have no money for coaching and will have to do the hard work studying poker off the tables too.
Best of luck! Subscribed.

I was thinking the same thing but I don't think it makes a huge difference. We know villain is never bluffing with this sizing and some overcards will give villain an opportunity to check river with his middle pairs.

Whenever faced with a problem, I believe there is a lot of value in first identifying the right questions to ask. Once I ask the right questions, I prioritize them and then start working on the answers.
The reason I begin with the questions is because whatever answers I will find, will be temporary: environment changes, unexpected things happen, other people find the same answers - diminishing returns, villains adjust, etc.
Answers will expire sooner or later. Good questions on the other hand will be good for much longer.

ITT i will post under this title some of the questions that I ponder. By the end of the challenge I'll have a collection of them.

Question that I struggle with atm:

#What strategy is best for 2NL - nit (16/12/4), tight/agg (22/17/6)?

My thoughts so far>

The goal is to move up in stakes aggressively so I will take a shot at 5NL when I have a 100$ BR. That means I need to win 30BI or so at 2NL.

Playing nitty means smaller variance, smaller winrate - thus more volume needed, little learning value as I play most hands very straightforward and I almost never bluff.

Playing TAGish has more learning value - I will get involved in more pots will have to do a lot more hand reading will need more stats on villains to get max value. Will have to study some exploitative moves to put those stats to good use. Will generally prepare me more for the higher limits. Most education value at lowest price.

How many tables are you playing now? Anyways I used to multi table like a whore trying to get Instagram likes- around 16-20 tables at once. Now I do 4-6 tables. I take advantage of the nits/lags/and more importantly, the nice fishies. I'm def playing a lot more hands. Overall, I would say just play solid poker.

he almost never has a boat because he didn't raise turn. if he has a queen i have to let him valuebet it. OTR I can call fairly sure I have the best hand but his sizing smells like either flush or bluff and just to see if they can fold a flush I decided to turn my hand into a bluff and pop him with the nut flush blocker and the paired board to sustain the bluff.

I guess he only had a queen or some sort of weird str8 draw, because I really think most villains at 2NL can't fold flushes. all in all...good for my redline :P

Have been experimenting a lot so far.

Next week I'll be putting in 20-30k hands. That should get me out of 2NL.

Did as I said and played 30k hands but it didn't get me out pf 2NL as hoped.

Not happy with my game and ... god I hate 2NL.

So, since the last update:

and overall since the start of the challange:

I found playing 2NL Zoom incredibly frustrating. I have been playing focused, 2 tables paying serious attention, analyzing hands...and the results suck. I was going for maximum learning with minimum investment but my conclusion so far is that there isn't much learning that can happen at 2NL. post flop play is insane...people do not have a fold button and the amount of plays that make no sense whatsoever is incredible. It gets one to the point where you start contemplating weather the game is rigged or something.

I'll change my strategy a bit. I initially planned to take 10BI shots with a larger and larger BR (20BI for 5NL, 25 for 10NL, etc.) but now I just want to get the f**ck out of the micros so I will be taking 2BI shots when I have 10BI for the limit I want to move up to.

Already played a bit at 5NL last night. I'll keep at it and be very disciplined about the 2BI shot limit.

I think nitty style is worse, but there is method to the madness. Some boards you can bet-bet-bet and make them fold even at 2NL-5NL-10NL, but some boards you can't, same goes for villains, some just wont fold whatever amount you bet, with smth ridiculous, some will be playing pretty tight postflop even at nanostakes. I don't know what causes this - are they calling stations, maybe they don't really understand poker etc. Like some plays have made me think that sometimes people think straight is 4 cards, not 5. Ridiculous, but every once in a while you see weird hands. so yea, i think TAG is better and deffo can play looser on Zoom tables imo.
I think more important thing here though is learning curve - if you study and play 2 zoom tables or 4 regular ones, you will learn a lot more than just adopt some random TAGNit strat and nut peddle 4-8 zoom tables or god forbid, smth like regular 16 tables of 2NL.
I know know, there is some crazy SN grinders(not maybe exactly at 2NL lol, but higher) lalala multitablers, but i can bet that almost NO ONE has ever learned something from mass-mutitabling microstakes. Aside from the fact that they rarely ever river bluff, but that's about it.
GL with your games!
