That's a nice graph

What module/aspect did you find most valuable in Upswingpoker, considering micros.

I bought it myself also and I think it's great. However I think it's not best for under 50NL because most of the things won't work in micros. (3barreling flush draws etc).

GL and keep going on that grind.

Sup guys, I'm back!

Had a small break from poker due to a massive amount of new contracts coming to my business last year and I literally didn't have time to even withdraw my bankroll. It's good though, cos I can pick it up where I've left it.

Although, I've been playing a bit of zoom for the past month and been mostly studying 6m with my Skype buddies. At the moment, I'd say the ratio of study to play is about 4:1 which should result in some decent progress.

Ive kicked it off with 5z to get the ropes and see what's changed since last year. Not much if I'm honest. I even bumped into a few regs that I remember from a year ago. Makes me think if these are actually bots, cos it's hard to believe that someone would be playing 5z all year round lol.

Anyways, after winning a few BIs, I went onto 10z and quickly won't about 18 BIs averaging about 16bb/100 over 20k hands. At this point my BR allowed me to start playing 25z which is going surprisingly smooth. I've done just over 16k hands at 14bb/100 and still going strong. I don't think I'm on a heater of any kind as I actually run 4 BIs below EV. I think putting lots of effort into studying and hanging out with my poker buddies pay off and most importantly, I feel super confident with my game which is quite shocking considering the long break and how much you can improve by properly studying your format.

I will post some graphs for the month when I get home later today!

Peace

I've actually turned my back on Upswing if I'm honest. The polar strat Doug and Ryan are teaching is quite outdated and I think it's not a winning strategy for 6m, specially when you play higher than 25z, not lower...

I cancelled my sub last year so can't really comment on their content, but from what I hear from my study group, it's not that great for the price they're asking.

Also, I hear that Ryan makes tons of mistakes during his play and explain videos, so I'm not too sure about this one anymore.

Here's the graph for April, so far so good. Run into some nasty spots toward the end of my last session, but when doesn't it happen lol

Some realistic goals for the month:

1. Do at least 50k hands by the end of the month
2. Ratio of play to study about 1:1 for whole of April (got a special-special timer for this)
3. Play at least 3 live 1-2 or 2-5 cash sessions
4. Show a bloody profit for the above

And here's the latest short session with small ds but recovered to nearly 1 BI. Gonna play about 2-3k hands this evening and will update then.

Edit: There's about 4k hands missing in the graph which I've played at work. Anyone knows if there's a way to merge them together? Thanks.

The session was rather choppy - pretty much nothing worked for the first 1k hands and only toward the end it's started going smooth but had to cut my session short due to the time at night I was playing.

Graph:

Some hands:

Should have led the flop, but got there in the end

River check jam purely based on this reg exploit

Don't you just love punishing donk bets

Discussed this hand with my skype buddy, probably should have called river

Jackingoffsuited

Got there in the end

Paid off

Update:

It looks like I won't play many hands until the weekend as I've got a lot of new poker theory material to study, so I'll focus on that and perhaps throw in a few hands here and there, but I'm planning to grind all weekend so that should make up for it.

I was also discussing the move to 50z with my buddies, and I'm still deciding. I'm confident with the style I play although I feel like I need to study a bit more before I hop into a new pool plus I've just started using a new strat so will probably need to get used to it before I do this. I'll play it by ear and see how it goes, but it shouldn't be long before I jump into stakes I've never played online so getting excited about this!

Peace!

Thanks buddy. I think finding the right people and going through hands with them has helped me the most. You see how they'd have played certain spots and you evaluate your game. It's always good to get input from guys that know what they're doing so I'd recommend that to start with.

I would also recommend RIO and their theory videos, there's a lot of value in them and the conclusions they draw are backed up by solid facts found through solvers, so I'm loving it at the moment!

Good luck with your grind mate!
