Everyone says online poker is dead. Everyone says it.

You know. Maybe they are right. Maybe it is dead. You know why?

Because back in 2002 - you got a MILLION players playing like villain below.

I was one of those players. You know that? I was the fish everyone was looking to catch on their hook. But guess what? Now the fish are now slightly competant... lol

Had a decent sample on this villain who is a nit-fish, I knew he couldn't fold because his 3bet range was 0.5% - It was either AA or KK. With his 3bet, his hand was face up.

I had to shove to make it look like I'm doing it with QQ or AK, (typical fish move).

If I had have 4bet him normally, then he 5bet me... my 6bet range is far too thin and he could maybe find a fold with KK. I didn't want to play tricky and call a 5bet and then shove on this cbet... so insta shove 4bet was the play. Just call me Daniel Nigonenu from now on.

Think the last hand was thin... I figured, if I call the raise on the flop and see what he does on the turn.. he insta jammed and I just think that a strong hand wouldn't insta jam here. I also thought his flop raise sizing was more or less, "please fold - I have nothing" - If he had have min raised flop and then half potted turn - that would have been more believeable and I might have folded that... villain was unknown.

Don't get carried away with this line of thinking. It's fine selectively but it's a lot better to theoretically solid foundation that most of your decisions stem from. I think T8s on the button is a bit loose facing a CO. T9s would be fine and t8s should be a 3bet.

Also, I'm seeing a lot of complaining about running bad when these are some terribly played hands. You've been playing for 3 years dude what are you doing. What is that AK overbet flop? What is this QJs x/xr?????? WHAT AM I LOOKING AT?!!?!??!?!

Hey man! I don't know about being "back for ever".. I don't really play much anymore due you know, not winning... the dream is still there to move up the levels.. but I don't know if I can do it. I think I will always try.

I have changed my game a little - my starting hand selection is nittier and I fold A LOT of rivers.

My strategy is just to try to break even, and then somewhere down the line someone ends up giving me a buy in:

That 1c may look like 1c to you, but to me, that 1c represents the transition of a caterpillar to the beautiful butterfly you now see before you.

I have worked on my discipline, my game, my hand selection, my positional play, and it's finally all coming together.

                    My DB of hands:

Still negative winnings due to an early unsuccessful 5NL shot.

                    Anyways... Time to crush.

As I understand, you've started a "2NL to 2000NL" challenge in 2013 and now, more than 5 years later you're still at 2nl. Damn man, feel bad for you.

As I understand, you've started a "2NL to 2000NL" challenge in 2013 and now, more than 5 years later you're still at 2nl. Damn man, feel bad for you.
That is correct. Thanks for the feels brah. We will see what happens this time. I don't wanna quit this thread, i'm more determined than ever.

And if after 5 more years i'm still at 2NL, well at least it's kinda funny in a pathetic kind of way?

                    Yeah, 2NL watch yourself!!!

Funny though, I've seen a lot of other familiar 2NL regs that are still grinding 2NL, so I ain't the only one stuck!
