Well, I guess you can't win'em all (at least I can't). I was off to such a hot start, did I get overcondfident? I was tickling $40 after 100 hands or so, then things went south. Maybe it's for the best that I have my first losing set early and get that out of the way. A few obervations:
1. God damn two pair!
2. I think I became a little loose with queens and jacks. Raising to open them is fine (actually, it is mandatory) but cold calling a raise, I'm not so sure I should do that anymore. Even if I'm already in for a small blind or even a fullbet calling with anything less than queens should be a little iffy.
3. Looks like I'm earning 2-3 FPPs per hundred hands.
4. I should probably leave a table when it gets down to 3 players, no?
5. This is a game where position is very, very important. I'm learning that everytime I don't have position.
6. God damn two pair!
The semester ended officially a couple days ago and I submitted my grades. My friend and I went to the casino on Saturday. Played a little nickel video poker. I only played about 10 minutes and then said to myself "I'm going to hate this game if I play it even away from my computer...I might even hate my own life more..." So I quit and played some blackjack. No poker tournament for me, no casino poker period until I go to Vegas in July.
I'll be going to visit family in Cleveland on Thursday and will stay there for a couple weeks. That's probably where I will give my next 3-4 updates. I'll be playing even more 5CD there, since I need something to keep me sane.
