Hello 2p2, currently I play 25NL on Ignition, with a ~$1K bankroll. I've been playing poker for about two years now, but haven't taken the game seriously with BRM until quite recently. I took a coaching for profits deal a few days ago with a 2p2 user on here for 250,000 hands, so you can say that I'm in it this time for the long haul.

While I'm immensely grateful for the fact that I was trusted with the responsibility to study/play through this much for this coming 4-9 months (largely influenced by the League of Legends games we played), I have to keep in mind of my goals and potential downfalls I could have as a result of this challenge. I hope to update this PGC this time at least somewhat regularly, with some hands or progress as to how I'm doing.

Current poker goals:

-Get to a point where I can confidently say that I'm a 25NL winner on Ignition
-Improve in how I play poker, particularly postflop
-Hammer down and get to internalize proper ranges to defend from the BB against all positions
-Learn how to play 25NL zone profitably
-Get to a spot where I can shot take 50NL and transition well
-Improve my mental game and be less prone to tilt, I personally think of myself as pretty good vs. the average League player for mental game but for sure am a mental game fish for poker.

Lastly a little bit about me, I'm currently 20 years old, reside in the US, and played a lot of League of Legends prior to making a partial transition into poker. Went to community college this year, will probably go to a university in the state to transfer to so I can get myself a CS degree. Hope to maybe shift some of the LoL success into poker, but will most certainly take lots of hard work and dedication.

Current 25NL graph/progress:

Well, got an update (albeit not a good one)....

Yeah I'm facing a pretty nasty downswing, a combination of me not playing my A game as well as some tilt. Still have to play through it and persevere though, especially given the fact that I'm ~8-9 BIs under EV these hands and know that I personally (should) be a better player than this.

Hopefully can update later strong!

Hey, it's been a while since I last updated ---

aaand well I've been starting to play 1/2 charity poker live, and for now I've currently found a lot more success there. 25BB/hour in the past 40 hours, so in the event that my bankroll online is ****ed (recently reloaded $1K), I have some source of income to be able to continue on. Feel like 1/2 live is a LOT easier than 25/50NL, given that play is much more passive and you're more or less told whenever you're beat. Probably a psychology/variance thing, though.

As for online, played around ~10-15K more hands of 25/50NL, and that's gone breakeven for the most part. Perhaps I should go back down to the 10/25NL streets and try to change something to fix my online game...

No graphs for now, since I did recently switch back from HM2 to PT4.

Played some heavy 25NL/25NLz volume on ignition in the past few days, haven't really touched online in a while b/c live is great but glad to know I still got it somewhat...played a total of 18K hands across all stakes in the past 4-5d so prolly gonna take today off, maybe do some hand review/get a RIO subscription

Will probably shot take 50NL sometime again when I hit $1.5-$2Kish, probably get some coaching/db review from a fellow Ignition 200NLz/500z reg when I hit the 25-100K hand mark. Been getting whacked at earlier shot attempts (4K hands -6 BI) & I don't feel like my play is good enough to be comfortable regularly playing the stake, at least for now. Obviously small sample size above, but if anyone has any suggestions/pointers I'm more than willing to hear out

Really want to take 2020 and try to get some actual online volume in and try to make it to 200/500NL, but obviously going to take a lot of work and outside help to get to that point. Spent enough time dicking around playing LLSNL, time to actually try and improve and get better at this game..and what better way to do it than to play a ton more hands online?

Off the top of my head for things I really could improve on:

Red line, overfolding to snap pot turn/river bets (esp river), calling down less in bigger pots and avoid passivity in very passive population, playing more hands in BTN/learning to play better from the BB (clearly)

Feel like I've matured a decent amount though in the past 2-3 years from poker and feel like I have a much more open mind to learning/getting better, so at least that's going for me. Discipline has improved as well overall

I'd move up to 100nl ASAP. The game play isn't much better, and the rake is much lower.

Duly noted, will try to be less of a BRM nit while trying to seriously take time to make sure I'm actually a winner at this stake first --

(some) progress from today 4 tabling 25z/50z, trying to grind out the welcome bonus out and give ignition their raek moniez...took a break the day before, was quite refreshing and definitely was well overdue for it. back to getting out volume though weeeeee

25nlz/25nl graph

50nlz/50nl graph

Bankroll: $1,505.82

also withdrew $500 from the account, so technically it should be $2K or so but I want my initial deposit back :P

at some weird point i'll have to get some 100nl volume in even though there isn't 100nlz, sucks that on iggy it's 5z/25z/200z/500z

Happy new year! Woke up to PT4 date/time bug on Windows 10 and learned that I had to update to the newest version. Currently now facing a black screen bug now (seems like it's specific to my internet connection as I'm able to log in on LTE but not on net). Played for an hour or two and lost a half a BI in 100NL, although yesterday went very well:

12/31/19 play

Noticed that one particular player was streaming with practically no delay in 200z, so went after that for about 15 mins -- degen tingles and couldn't pass up that opportunity. Anyway I ended up cancelling the $500 withdrawal since if I just keep it in my account, I'm properly rolled to shottake 100NL. Managed to bring back my 50z winrate back to breakeven. So far overall up around 3 BI's for 100NL, hope the sun run continues

100NL so far

Overall

Plans/thoughts
-Database review w/ 100-200NL+ reg hopefully playing same site (will need to find coach). I know I'm running hot, and I want to get better
-Clean up 50NL WR and get some volume in there
-More 25z/50z volume (emphasis on 25z since winrate is much better)

Likely will end up playing 2 tables of 25z, 2 tables of 50NL/50NLz so I can clear the poker welcome bonus (74% complete). About $900 from my account is unable to be withdrawn because of it so I'd like to clear it ASAP

Bankroll: $2,347.77

Long time no update, but for now this challenge will move from ignition casino to Stars Michigan.

February goals for me:
1. 100,000 hands played in 200nl or higher on Pokerstars Michigan by end of February for DB review
2. Get to a point where I can sit down in any 200nl game on the site and call myself one of the best regs in that stake (already kinda there)
3. Be able to play and crush 500nl+ on the site regularly without having to full on bumhunt for the juiciest games (the only time I sit down in 500nl)
4. Play an overall more balanced game against other competent-decent regs, learn to include bluffs in the right spots pre and post (stars MI right now is that soft)
5. By the end of the year, actually know how to run pio sims and be able to correctly interpret the data and apply it into my own game for the better good. Really feel like a lot of regs may have pio, but it does more harm than good to their game....

I fear that the games on stars MI will not stay like this for long. With some study/work/coaching from brokenstars666 later this month I feel like I'll get a point where even as the games get tougher, we'll be able to hold off our own in 200nl and beyond.

I have untracked hands as well from before I was able to play on desktop w/ HUD software and had to play on phone and laptop for a couple days. Total is more like +13K

Bankroll: $12,015.79

Today so far & yesterday ended up going well, however continuing to have 200nl FR/6max as my main game. I still play some 500NL FR/6max and 1knl if I think I am +EV in the lineups. Withdrew another $3K yesterday, so my bankroll is at $13,667.86.

Yesterday

Today - notably played some 1knl because I recognized some players I believe I am +EV against and I don't play poker for a living ....

Mainly play against you in 200NL, 500NL, and a little bit of 1knl...says in PT4 that I'm only up $206 against you through ~350 hands we played against each other

Will be sending you a DM with my SN & discord info.

Split action today and played some 1knl against what was thought to be a whale, but after some play it was determined fairly quickly that it's most likely a decent-ok reg who is mainly just running hot. Don't think it's +EV enough to the point where I'm willing to risk a large portion of bankroll like I did earlier in a FR game. Took a $1086 loss on that, so my portion was $543.

Made a couple hundred today playing a bunch of 200nl as usual, and will probably play some later. Unboxed a $210 black chest today which was nice, however that took 71,640 points. The chest again costs 71,640, used to be like ~20K to unlock....

Pretty nice to clear a $300 rakeback bonus in 1.5 days too

Bankroll: $13,447.57 (after $543 withdraw)

Here are two big pots in 1knl:

whale just being a moron

Overall on tracked hands (about +$5K untracked):

February 2021 Recap

As the month is approaching a close, the thought of me playing full time for the time being online start to hit my mind...few lessons learned along the way:

1. Having really comfortable bankroll management is super important. Being properly rolled makes it so much more comfortable/manageable when you get hit with those beats/breakeven stretches/downswings, and just feel that you're still going to be okay as long as you are generating EV.

2. Playing 1knl HU/2knl HU was a huge mistake & idk what I was thinking. Playing 1knl in general is a mistake for me atm, when I can just reduce variance by grinding out a ton of 200nl tables, and some 500nl if I think I have an edge in a lineup & the game is good. I will not be playing 1knl for the foreseeable future, let alone playing any HU above 200nl. I'm not a HU specialist, and I played way outside my roll. Nearing complete recovery since that -11K day though.

School is likely going to be put on hold (computer science), while I put in as much volume as I can. With part of these winnings I built a computer with the following specs:

-AMD Ryzen 9 3950x (woulda got the 5950x, but out of stock)
-128gb DDR4 3000mhz RAM
-Asus ROG Strix RX6900XT (some blessed soul sold me this for MSRP, eternally grateful)
-850W Seasonic Gold modular PSU
-Corsair Air 540

My main purpose of this machine is to have a computer that can run PIOsolver edge with no limitations. I also haven't upgraded my machine in about 5-6 years now. Secondary use is to play video games and sometimes stream a little bit of poker for fun/said video games, and game on a 144hz display. Also bought a 32" 144hz 4K monitor to use as my new primary display for pokerstars, screen real estate has become increasingly important to me for multitabling. I am blessed to have played ignition 25-200nlz for the past few years to have a huge advantage compared to rest of field. I am mainly still an instinct player however, having watched many hours of 200nlz/500nlz streamers as my "studying", figuring out and asking questions on why x or y works, why z doesn't, and trying out the things that they do & applying them to my game.

I plan on booking multiple sessions with a 500z player on ignition by end of this month & over the next month or two, to solidify my game and not be left behind the curve when the games get inevitably tougher, also to potentially play 1knl+ in the future. Given that I can basically run any sim I possibly could want now, I'll actually start putting in some time/work behind PIO next month...not entirely sure if I can hit 100K hands by the end of February, but I'm happy with the volume I put in overall this month.

Anyway here are results since the 1st of Jan:

Cash games:

If we were to omit the day I chose to play 2knl HU & some PLO volume...

Tournaments:

Have a prop bet going on (my $600:his $200) that I will not play any future MICOOP events until end, so won't be playing any tournaments -- probably giving up a ton of EV there but I'm alright with picking up a variance-free $200.

Two similar HH's to wrap things up

I'm in. Good job climbing up the stakes. I'm currently trying to do the same thing as you but on stars PA and WPN. I've been grinding 10blitz this month while just messing around on stars and managed to bink an mtt so now I'm going to focus on 50nl and looking to break into 100nl. After a year or so games are still pretty soft. GL in March.
