I'm taking my first holidays, for myself in probably 5 years. Family and I are going camping and i'm real excited! However I decided to take 1 day just for me and I wanted to do a fun poker challenge just for the hell of it.

|Here goes:

I'm going to start with $25.00 on PS and buyin for 50 BB's at 5NL Zoom. Once I have 100 BB's at the next level I am going to take a single 50BB shot at 10NL... etc, etc. If I bust the single shot at a new level I drop back and need to win another 100BB's till my next shot.

Basically, using horrible BRM I intend to go from $25 to $1000. Don\'t say anything about the 50BB buyin's or about my BRM... I just wanna have fun and see if I can actually complete this... for all I know I will fail in the first 40 minutes... then I'll just reload and try again!

Wish me luck... actually, wish me fun!

Will update as I move up or down... should be a blast!

Well, pretty impressive that I can lose $9.00 in 700 hands at 5NL lol. My post-flop play was horrible and although I definately took some bad hits, I really wasn't hand reading worth a ****. I guess the only positive would be that I could probably blame the beer and bananas, but why? I had some fun and really didn't lose much, just kinda sucks that I'm so far behind in my little challenge. Hopefully a sober day today gets me back in the right direction.

One thing that I did notice, even though we are only talking 700 hands, is that at this level I think it's fairly important to tighten up your opening raise a bit but really widen your 3-betting range. Raises get no respect, but 3-bets tend to scare the **** outta most players at this level. And if you are played back at you are almost always up against JJ+, AQs+. Small sample but it's what I noticed. (BTW, I was 3-betting at a 30% clip and was up over $24.00 in 3-bet pots.) So... take my own advice... bail when played back at!

Wow... 700 hands in and down another 6 bucks. what a beautiful day it is outside lol

Pretty tough today, I keep getting coolered with set under set, 2 pr vs 2 pr etc. The river flush card is also killing me

Anyway, I'm going to go down to the legion for a couple beer and play some pool and come back refreshed. Hoping to find a virgin somewhere to sacrifice to the poker gods

Going to post some HH's when I get back from my weekend camping trip... right now all I can think of are my bad beats/coolers and they are just whiney lol. I know there are a bunch of turn spots where I wasn't sure what to do... Hoping to spend the weekend with family and go over my HH's... Sunday afternoon I'll have some spots I'm curious about... can't believe I'll actually be away from my cell and internet for 3 whole days lol. But it should be good for me to go over my game as I won't be distracted by wanting to play

Just to throw it out there, I went 17-3 in my pool session which was nice... sick thing is I crushed the strong players and lost to the weak ones... wondering if I don't have a mental block when I think I should win... maybe why 5NL is killing me??

Break, Beer and Banana equals... FINALLY EVEN

So I come back from having some fun crushing pool and wonder why I lose to weaker players... in pool, in poker and for that matter, in life? Is it a mental block where I feel entitled to win? Do I just not concentrate against weaker people cuz I'm lazy? Subconsciously do I expect to win and forget that anybody can run good so I still need to concentrate? Do I drink to many beer while peeling bananas? Who knows, but here is what happened upon my return...

After about 300 quick hands I made up my loses and am now even again! My challenge is on now!

Running way over EV, but in all honesty I have been coolered pretty bad today, so all in all real happy with everything!

Off to finally hit stage 2!
