Over last 7 months I took a break from poker. Work, kids schooling at home due to Covid and the most important I quit smoking after 15 years packet a day are my main achievements over this break.

I like 6max tables and didn't have success at zoom tables. Due to time limit I decided to move to zoom tables from lowest limit and move up the stakes when comfortable enough and bankroll allows me.

Starting bankroll is $20. I am using progressive bankroll to move up the stakes.

When I will have 20 buy ins for the lowest level ($2x20) and 4 buy ins for next level ($5x4), $60 in total I will take shots at 5z. If I am loosing 2 buy ins and my bankroll goes down to $50 I am moving to 2z and taking shots at 5z as soon as bankroll reaches $60.

Progressive part with bankroll comes from following levels. I need 30x5z buy-ins plus 4x10z buy-ins to take shots at 10z. 40 buy-ins at 10z plus 4x buy-ins 25z and so on.

Main target for 2021 is to move to zoom tables and play 500k hands over a year. I don't have stakes target, but will try my best to achieve as high as possible.

Updates will be every 10k hands.

1st update:

13.624 hands played and update is slightly overdue. Took roughly 5k hands to adjust and results were improving since.

12.394 hand played at 2z. Win rate is 15 bb/100 - 11 bb/100 adjusted


690 hands played at 5z. Win rate is -8 bb/100 - -15bb/100 adjusted

Today is day off from playing poker and it's trime for some hands reviews.

Hand 1:

Made mistake by not betting the turn around 2/3 of a pot, but results more likely would be the same.



Hand 2:

3bet sizing slightly low, especially I am OOP and shouldn't be calling this river without K



Hand 3:

Should be check/folding river and saving myself 60+ bb. Otherwise I think played hand fairly well. Could check on the turn as well, but I think checking or betting both are options in this hand




Decided to transfer $30 from pokerstars to ggpoker to get the most benefits from 100% match bonus. Might will transfer another $50 when will be a time to move to 10z.

Hand 2 why aren't you 4 betting pf? Especially out of position a 4-bet is better than just calling a 3-bet then check/calling down. You're losing a lot of value on most run outs.

His 3bet sizing was a bit low. My observation was at this level at ggpoker when people 3bet around 3x they have Ax hands or middle pairs. 4betting usually scares them off.

But your comment made me think and I agree it was a huge mistake on my side. If I don't 4bet KK preflop what is left in my 4bet range?

I think that with KK this is a slam dunk 4bet-get it in preflop or shove flop when called because of the SPR.

And nice job on quitting smoking, i was smoking for like 15 years and also managed to quit it for good, keep it up!

Time for update 2. Don't run very well at the moment. Impossible to win big with pocket AA. People just folding to 2.2 BB bet preflop

Winrate on 5z only just over 2bb/100. But as far as I am winning it's a great sign. BB adjusted slightly lower. Adjusted BB always will be lower due to insuranse feature on GGpoker. I opt-in before river if cost is fairly low and as result winning all the time, even my odds usually around 90%.

I'm also on GG at 10nl atm. The 3x three-bet in position is pretty standard form what I've seen so far. From what I've seen so far I'd say that 3bet on the button is more weighted towards higher pairs an higher aces as well. Especially against the button here you want to 4bet as you'll out of position the rest of the hand.

Yes I count all rake back and bonuses in one category as otherwise bankroll is different to what HM3 shows.

My rake back was 7 from fish buffet. I hope to be eligible for black fishes soon enough so I could have stable rake back every week instead of depending on the wheel.

Need few double ups at current level as a bit overdue. At the moment can't double up nearly at all, what is very odd for this level. People usually in love with their cards and don't like to fold much

Unlucky at the moment and as result making good few mistakes, as trying to recover losses too fast.



I know loosing all in preflop with AA to KK or any other pair is not unusual. To loose twice when running three times was a 1st time for me.

We can't win all the time and bad run showed me my main weakness I should address ASAP.

After having few bad beats, I didn't start to shout or hit keyboard or click all in button all the time. What I started to do is to call high bets what usually indicate I am behind with my lovely pocket AA or betting myself three barrels even opponent shows he has something good. Loosing 30-40 bb extra probably doesn't sound much. Only if it would happen once, but when i did it around 20 times over last 7k it is costly enough.


The most of the people at this level wouldn't call it a Tilt, but it's exactly what it is. Trying to cover losses as fast as possible and not playing my A game is a Tilt in mild but in very dangerous form. I don't feel tilted but I am as I do make mistakes regularly what usually avoid with.

Tomorrow is another day and it's time to address my issue

Bankroll with rakeback and bonusses stands at $107.58 at the moment.

It's an amazing how understanding an issue changes results. Even I wasn't feeling tilted last few days and was in a good mood overall, I didn't play right due to Tilt.

Obsession with getting bankroll back ASAP made me to do loosing moves, sloping down my bankroll graph, what is exactly a definition of tilt.

Today I took steady approach, find out poker client has a Fold button and clicked on it when something didn't feel right. As result I am nearly break even at 5z level after 20k hands, loosing only -0.44 bb/100

Bankroll stands at $133.53 at the moment and I am back on the way of my target to reach $190 and try 10z

Update 4 - 40,440 hands

Fairly good last 10k hands winning over 9 bb/100 at 5z stakes. With bankroll improving, I should be able to take shots at 10z early next week.

Overall I am happy with performance so far. Getting used to zoom tables and played 40k hands, well over target of 10k hands a week.

I don't have target of reaching certain level, my main goal is to play certain amount of hands. As result I am not under pressure to achieve something and trying to sort mistakes I make.

I am going to play more with gto+, with my main priority AJ-AK. I am fairly bad at playing them. I tend to loose a lot when 3-bet and don't win enough when I call.

Update 5 - 49,726 hands

Exploring 10z stakes at the moment, what is a great achievemnet within one calendar month. But the most important thing is I exceeded my target of 41,600 hands a month.

4k hands so far at 10z with a win rate of 6.51 bb/100. To be fair got "lucky" one hand by winning with a flush on the river.



Bankroll stands at $283,26 at the moment. This includes $20 and $40 additional deposits when I moved the stakes. $60 will withdrawn when I will clear deposit bonus.

Net profit so far $203.26 including rakeback and other bonuses.

January update!

It was a good month of Poker after 7 months of rest. Took couple weeks to come back to routine and it's time for a well deserved weekend off.

54,989 hands played so far this year and it's well over targeted 42k hands

During these 54,989 hands I managed to move through 2z and 5z stakes and sitting quiet comfartably at 10z at the moment.

I hope to play roughly 60k hands in February and hopefully move to 25z.

Thank you. I play 4 tables, roughly 925 hands an hour.

Usually I have 2 sessions a day for around 3 hrs in total. I will take couple days off every so often.

Update 6 - 60,177 hands


Back in action after couple days off. Going fairly well at 10z, even had some bad desicions over last 2k hands

Have couple issues one related to another. Have a bit of fear to loose. As result sometimes checking river instead of betting. Because of this My second issue is non showdown winnings are going fairly down.

I won 9,211 BBs in 1,190 hands with river checked by all players. This affects a lot non showdown winnings and the most important I am loosing a lot of value. I have to put some time to analyse these spots over next few days.

Bankroll stands at $378.92 and I am thinking to take shots at 25z when bankroll reaches $450. Will move down back to 10z if bankroll goes down to $400.

Update 7 - 72,591 hands

First shot at 25z was unlucky and more importantly it triggered some sort of tilt. After moving back to 10z I played very bad and managed to loose a good bit.

It's nice to be on target to play 500k hands this year, despite I am having a lovely downswing at the moment.

On the good side today's session is finally a positive one after 10 sessions in a row loosing ones or break even at the best. This session won't be included in these charts as I am slowly behind on updating due to Valentine's day

Downswing affected my game and I had good few bad decisions during this spell.

Bankroll stands at $275 at the moment, thanks to rakeback and bonuses. $10 of this bankroll will be withdrawn as soon as I will claim the rest of deposit bonus.

Update 9 - 89,660 hands

It is nice to be out of downswing and finally start to win something again. But more importantly it is nice to be on my main target of 500k hands this year.

If I will continue with the same amount of play I should complete around 700k hands this year.

Managed to win 1000bbs in last 7k hands, but still have 1700bbs to recover from downswing.

Bankroll stands at $361, it's including $10 deposit bonus to withdraw. I am still down from my peak bankroll of $450, the time I took shots at 25z.

Hopefully i will continue on playing the same way and will take another shot at 25z shortly.
