Whats up guys, never really planned on making one of these, but I'm in a 3 week downswing (pretty much breakeven stretch) during quarantine and going borderline insane, so looking to shake it up.

About me:
-22 years old, graduated college this week
-No job, prob going to be that way until Covid passes
-Played poker a little less than a year and grinded from $200 BR at 10 NL to now being a 100 NL reg
-Have become fairly obsessed, so I am spending most of my time rn on poker.

Starting a PGC for a few reasons:
-The main is I have no poker friends and really need some. When I'm trying new things or losing its so hard to tell whether or not I'm just stupid af or going in the wrong direction. Anyone who wants to talk strat or whatever send me a pm.
-Hold myself slightly more accountable and outline goals. The goal is to become an established 500 NL reg by the end of this year.
-Place to ***** when I lose so I can stop torturing my gf after I punt 5+ BI

2020 Graph so far:

May has been terrible. Grind 4-6 hours a day everyday and have only broke even. Will hopefully turn it around and salvage the month. Will post some hands and ish next session.

Hey, sucks that you have no poker friends. Let's change that! What sites do you plan on?

Played my first session after starting this thread and won 3 BI. Feels good.
Was contemplating moving back down to 50 and trying and score some wins, but that feels like a weak reaction for just a breakeven stretch.

Yeah so I was leaning towards keeping that private (player pool is v small, would def be a hinderance showing these hands), but I think that would be fairly hard with a thread like this.
I play in the US on stars NJ, since we're one of the few states that have legalized poker.

May add that to the first post since the secrets out now anyways lol

Have punted 6 BI since my last update.

Very tilted, and really need a break, but going on vacation in a week and don't want to make it too long of a period without poker.
Never struggled this bad with tilt and confusion over my own skill, so the next week is going to be very hard to maintain composure unless this ends soon.

Hope i get it together and make something out of the rest of may.

So time for an end of May update:

Month went really bad I think. Beginning of the month I had plans to just cruise through 100 NL and move up to 200 NL (almost expected it and felt entitled to it, which is def a mental leak), but I just never got out of my break even stretch. I had done really well at 50 NL, and started off really strong at 100, but these past 60k hands have been torture.

Last half of the month I just formed terrible habits and stopped giving it my best. Stopped studying and started button clicking. Had a few mental breakdowns too, after punting off sessions that started as huge wins. Honestly was miserable and just hated poker so much lol.

Never really had an issue with losing stretches, but I think combination of month long of losing and no social or physical activity due to Covid just really ****ed me up . Also have not taken a day off in over 2 months so need to take a break and reset.

Fortunately, tomorrow I am gonna go on vacation to the mountains of North Carolina. Will be nice to just not think about poker at all for a week and come back excited to study and play.

June's my month. Will crush it

Forgot I made this thread lol, but here is a mid month update.

Running hot and winning all the flips rn.

Unfortunately, there wasn't a lot of action at 100NL one night, so I shot took 200NL (didn't want to at all, but really wanted to play). It went terrible lmao. Lost 3 BI in like 20 mins and that really put me in a bad mood and hurt my BR. Players seemed a lot more solid, but it was way too short of a time playing there to really tell.

Was away for the first week of June so I've only been playing a little more than a week. The break was much needed. Good to not think about poker for a little bit and get fresh eyes and excitement to learn.

View in North Carolina

Idk if anyone is reading this, but I've also recently come into some money and am looking for advice. ~15k USD from selling a bunch of old stuff (rare collectibles) and a few gifts. I see no reason to invest this into poker because I am well rolled for the games I play now and think my skill isn't adequate for higher stakes.

So if anyone has any investment suggestions or entrepreneurial ideas I would be really eager to hear them. One of the reasons I started playing poker was to have some investment money on the side when I started working. Luckily I now have poker money AND investment money, but no clue how to make it work for me.

Lost 5 BI in 800 hands yesterday. Oddly enough I thought I played fairly well, only one hand I would like to have back. Just ran into AA pre with AK and KK and kept having brutal run outs/suck outs.

1) 2 mins into the session vs the biggest sunrunner in the world lol. Was scared it was going to be a rough one as soon as this happened.

2) Fairly happy I showed restraint here after getting hammered all session. A few months ago i probably bet with reckless abandon on tilt.

Still feels like the poker grind is one step forward two steps back. Bankroll has been stagnant for close to two months now. But I am still fairly confident I can beat 100 NL and compete at 200 when I make the move up.

Also I don't have anything better to do with my time lmao. 9 days left in June... Going to make a STRONG push to salvage the month.

Was hesitant to even update this because of another losing month. Kind of don't even know what to do anymore. Under normal circumstances I probably just get a job and cash out my account balance and stop playing poker. I did really well in school and built a solid resume, but with Covid I have no clue when it will be realistic to get a solid job in investments/finance. Cashing out and quitting wont suddenly land me a job, and I have nothing better to do with my time... so may as well keep grinding and hope things turn around??? But at the same time I feel borderline insane logging in for 2 sessions a day and making no progress for over 2 months lol. My mental game is shot and I really just hate playing during this stretch.

Hey, posting this to see if anyone would like to be a study partner or potentially form a group (or add me if you have one). Since abandoning this thread I've invested in coaching, have pretty consistently won, improved a lot, and now play mainly 500-1K nl.

I have a study group, but they're all players in my pool (pool is v small) and its really getting tilting coming up with strategy points and then having like 10% of my pool know what I am doing and how I am approaching spots lol. It kind of causes me to level myself in some spots.

So if you're in the stars main pool, or not on a US facing site (like wsop/ or stars and party in some states) please send me a message and maybe we can grind out some stuff. Ideally you would be at least 200 NL reg who has experience doing solver work.

Thx. pls pm if interested.

Glad to hear your doing well mate, I prefer MTTs so I'm the wrong fit for what your looking for.
Amazing photo, I wish I was an American I can tell you, if you like the outdoors its hard to beat. Yeah its huge which can make getting from a to b a bit of a problem, but whatever you cant win them all.

The UK is getting kinda crowded, not my cup of tea at all now.
