Hello 2+2.

I'm not going to write a lot, but I basically wanted to make a blog for 2019. I'm about to play my first session after a break, so today seems like a good time. I'm currently playing 25z on PokerStars with a nitty BRM, something I haven't decided if I'm going to change or not (we'll see how it goes). Focus right now is to study a bit more than I'm used to, so if you play around ~same stakes/site, feel free to PM me.

I imagine I will update this about weekly on average, but it could also be daily or monthly. We will see how it goes.

GL to everyone.

Played 500 hands of 2-tabling before calling it a session. Playing with new layout and HUD feels pretty nice.

Pool was full of fish, much more than usual.

Think both checking and betting turn is fine, but not sure. Serious James Bond hand from villain.

Played a lot today, which wasn't even the plan, but games were super soft. Didn't run that great in standard spots, but was given unreal donations really, so that makes the profit for today. Ran way over all-in EV as well.

Something I realised I need to work on is when I classify players as fish. Like if I have 0 notes/no label, and they play one table, I usually assume they're a fish. Usually I play kind of similar against an unknown when I have 0 reads and he is playing one table, something that resulted in some questionable calls from my side. But I basically had to force myself to call down and stack off in some spots, at least today, after seeing so many 0 equity bluffs.

Can't share it all, mixing a bit of hands. Comments appreciated.

Rest is standard spots, apart from this hand. I still think about it really. Against a reg I can probably snapfold flop, but this guy is playing one table, and I have zero reads. Folding a paired river any other day really, just today I couldn't do it.

Oh, and opening Q8s because I'm deep against some whales on the table, think it's ok?

Usually I'm stone dead when a reg jams here. Open raiser is a fish so I tell myself his (reg) range is A8s, 98s, 87s and 22. Basically sat out here, as I got interrupted, so I basically snapped call. In hindsight I should fold. If I have some note that this fish is super stationy I might call.

I will have to think about sharing my SN. Will not share it yet at least.

So I started my first session playing only one table. Played close to my A-game, but also ran really well. Was about to stop, but decided to keep going with 4 tables. I was playing OK overall, but definitely missed a few small pots. For the big pots, I think they're all somehow coolers. Not 100% sure, though. I will continue to play 50z tomorrow as well.

Brutal runout, but I think I just have to close my eyes and press call.

Thanks, and GL to you too!

I decided to move to 100z. I feel like I have to run a lot of sims in 3-bet pots (note to myself: I have to review way more hands with PIO), as I end up not knowing what to do in some spots. Naturally I will have to sacrifice the amount of hands I play, so it kind of makes up for it that way. Worst case scenario is I move down.

Spoiler:

in before doomswitch.

Tomorrow I will play again, but most importantly is to go through close to 100% of the spots that I struggle with.

IMO you deserve to lose if you play AA like that.

I was very nitty with my bankroll in the past. However I have to put a lot more time into the theoretical aspect of the game, and have to adjust the amount of hands I play/stake accordingly. I'm also aware of big leaks I've been fixing lately/am still working with. I wrote this in my last post, but it's not like I expect to crush 100z the second I move up. If I lose too many buy-ins, I move down.

What do you think are the differences between 25z, 50z and 100z?

But really, why not say what you think is wrong with the hand?

For the differences between the stakes, I obviously can't say a lot. But the average reg fights more for pots/is better (obvious answer).
