things have been pretty good lately.

i started a stake at the end of nov to play PLO 100 so far I have won 9k (90 buyins). actually more buyins than that because I am playing PLO 40 and PLO 60 as well. unfortunately i have been spending a lot of money as well.

i put in 477 minutes today, and 305 yesterday. also 50% more hands today. Just 1300 hands, as I am just playing three tables max.

hit up the casino today. only 50/100 (Philippine pesos) was running because BBJ was > 5 million. my session started off pretty sweet, i flopped bottom set on a KQ2 flop on my first hand (bet flop and turn and took it down) and on my next BB picked up AK, folded to button who open limped, sb made it 250, I made it 750, sb called, flop came Q84 and I cbet 725 and took it down. So that was pretty sweet. Then I had T7 in BB (think all these hands were in BB) and flop came QTT 3 way limped so I bet 150, turn came 7, two flush draws now, bet 300 into 600, and fired river and took it down. But then I had 44 on AA4 flop limped pot, bet out, got raised big, four bet and we got it all in. Vs AJ and ran it twice and lost both runs. Probably only around 5% to lose both runs, as I am a substantial favourite on the flop (better than 3:1).

Took a break, played some blackjack, got seated on another table, and it was just the worst table imaginable. The first table wasn't great either, but the first table every other hand was a chop. Filled with nits. Probably the worst table I have played at in fifteen years. So I left and played some more blackjack and got onto a new table but then some dick told me I had to go to the table I left so I cashed out. I think I lost 2000 PHP in total, luckily I did okay playing blackjack.

Will hit up Metro Card Club tomorrow and hopefully put in a full eight hours. Might take the bus there.

reasonable results on my first week in live poker.

had a small win (1k php), large win (8k php?), large win (6k php), and small win 1k after the above session.

First session I got up decently early on after winning a flip with QQ vs AK (allegedly). The guy was a total maniac, I saw him iso raise with trash a number of times and he was basically coming in a for a raise every time preflop. So in this hand I limp reraised to like 60 bbs and he called there was not much behind and he jammed a low flop and my queens held up. But later on I lost a hand with JJ after I raised over a straddle and a couple limpers, and then jammed on a ten high flop. I ran into QQ that limp called. The same guy limp called Q4s the next hand from EP so not much you can do about that. Then I lost a decent sized flip with AK < QQ. So I was up right away a buy in or so and ended up winning only like 20 bbs. But I'm glad I put in the hours and I don't feel bad about the hands that I lost.

The next day I also won huge in my first hour. I limped AK utg, limped around to the BB who raised to 10 bb, I jam for 100 bb, this limper takes two to the face (he had called with a 500 chip and was probably trying to raise initially), and BB tanks and stacks off. Board runs out with an ace and a king and MHIG. Anyway I was up around 11k pretty quick but lost 3k during the rest of the day. I only played like 5 hours or so I think that time. Mad car sick for some reason in the taxi also, maybe because I tried to read a book.

The next day I hit up Resorts World (those two sessions were at Metro Card Club). Won 1k quick on blackjack (500 / hand) and hit and ran there. The 50/100 I got seated at was pretty soft, but the problem was I was pretty card dead and it was clear no one was ever going to give me action because I had such a tight image. Luckily I managed to take down one pot where it was straddled and there were a few limpers and I popped it to 1400. Another straddled hand a player minraised open from the button and I three bet all in from the blinds with AK and took it down. I was at like 4k or whatever stack size. 4k to 5k. Anyway the game was decent but my image was so tight and I decided to switch tables. First hand at the new table I get AA, iso a limper and take it down on the flop. Had another hand with KK same deal take it down on the flop. Then this guy sits down and refuses to post for a while. He keeps trying to get in for free and the dealer is not buying it. Eventually he gives in and posts, and is obviously clueless as ****. 60+ years old easily. Anyway he limps, there is maybe one more limper, I iso 450, we go three to the flop. I connect pretty solidly, with top pair second kicker, and fire a 1200 c-bet into the 1500 pot. Villain calls. So we go to the turn with around 4k in there and about 4k effective. Turn completes the flush, he checks, and then looks at me, which is a weakness tell (when they have a strong hand they look away, when they are weak they look at u to try to intimidate u), so I jam. He tanks, and at first I'm just praying he folds, I'm mostly just pushing because there is so much money in the pot, but as he continues to tank I realize I'm really cheering for a call. Anyway he eventually makes the call with A4 so three outs for the win and six for the chop. Luckily I win. At that point even though I'd only been playing 4 hours I was pretty tired having been awake for a solid 16 hours already, and I had too much of my bankroll on the table so I called it a day.

Then the next day, today, hit up Metro Card Club again. Lost a decent sized pot with AA after a couple limpers took a flop with me after I raise 5 bb from the bb and flop comes K44 and one guy has a 4. I bet 400 on the flop, check check the turn, and call 1k on the river. Q8 no flush runout, there was a flush draw on the flop. Then I raise KK flop top set and get paid three streets by Kx, but I was still stuck a bit. Then finally I switch tables to 25/50 (was playing 20/40), suckout for a modest pot and then stack off pre with QQ v AJ and hold. So then I was +1k after expenses for the day and had been playing 10 hours and was pretty tired so I called it a day and grabbed a cab home.

So far stars grind is going swimmingly.

Averaging over 4k hands per day over the last three days. +2600 big blinds and $654 dollars over five days (plus however much in rakeback). 15.6 bb 100 over a 16,890 hand sample. Took a tenative shot at $.25/$.50 today and won a buy in or a buy in and a half. Was even doing well in chests although my latest is a 35,000 pointer unfortunately (they were 4500 points b4). Substantially ahead of all in EV so presumably running pretty well.

Here is my first mistake. Villain's stats are 27/6/1.3/0 over 66 hands, and I think we have to give his bet a lot of credit four way. With only three nut outs, and being out of position, the best play is to fold.

Turn: ($9.92) 4d (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $9.50, Hero calls $9.50

I don't hate my turn call, but it is worth noting that we have only eight nut outs. This call is still pretty marginal. With 44 known cards ideally we would want 15 nut outs so that our pot odds equal our outs. Now a queen might be good, an ace might be good, 9d 6d or 7c might be good. Villain's play, from a passive player, betting first in a four way pot, marks him for a pretty strong hand imo, like a set, or a straight, or a big wrap with clubs. OTOH if he did have something like KQJ with clubs then we might have the best hand with aces.

River: ($28.92) Th (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $15.12, Hero calls $8.92 and is all-in

River call is quite desperate but we are getting great odds.

28,622 hands, $1,219 profit, nine days. actually I lost a bit on MTTs but that is balanced out by my rakeback, meager though it may be. i'm averaging 3k hands per day, and that is counting today which just started two hours ago. my highest volume day was 5,474 hands. only two losing days so far (over 9 days) and both were very small losses. biggest winning day was +354. Yesterday was my second biggest winning day at +226 and I am already up +96 (actually more because HM2 missed some hands today, I think another +50 or so).

I'm playing a mix of PLO $10, PLO $25, and PLO $50. Today was just $25 and $50. hopefully I can continue doing well. I am trying to wake up earlier and earlier so I can put in more hours when there are a lot of tables running.
