2019 challenge: 0.10$ - 0.50$ 180 turbo 2019 challenge: 0.10$ - 0.50$ 180 turbo

Hi,

I have been playing poker for fun since 2012 mixing it up between microstakes mtt's en sng's. Due to a busy life I couldn't put alot of volume in which means since 2012 I have only reached a mtt count of 1100 played tournaments on pokerstars.

Recently I have changed my job and I have more time available to play poker.

The format I will put tons of volume in will be .10$ and .50$ 180 turbo. The reason I choose to do is to improve my shortstack play for future big field tournaments and ofcourse because of the field softness. I am sure and believe in myself that I can crush these games easily but we have to prove this first.

So I start this thread for myself to become a better player and to get involved in a poker community. This thread is not for educational purpose nor for entertainment but to meet new people/poker players who shares the same passion.

I will be posting my weekly and/or monthly results with my progress on HM2/sharkscope graph.

I will be playing every day of the week. Estimations are as follows.

Monday through thursday: only 4 sng mtt each day = 16 sng mtt total
Friday: it depends. This could sometimes be a day off.
Weekend: 5 hours a day.

I am aiming to play between 50 and 100 sng mtt/week = an atainable estimate of 3000 sng mtt besides my full time job. This is a conservative estimation which I should easily reach.

I have already started this week with the challenge so there will be an update after sundays last sesion.

Feel free to leave comments and share the passion of poker together!

I have set the buy in level bankroll management at 200 buy ins. The reason I do this is because of the variance. It is normal in these games to suffer 20, 30 or even 50 buy in downswings.

Yes, I do play on pokerstars.

I wish I could implement this in my thread but it seems like I can't edit my thread?

Any plan to move up if things go well? How many buy in will you need?
Do you play on stars?

Play the .10 360 also. Extremely soft, even with the field being tighter than a few years ago. I tried both a few months ago and they were very easy to beat just memorizing a push fold chart like jennifear, a few charts for 3b and calling and common sense icm ft spots. Good luck!

Thanks mate, but I think those .10$ 360 are regspeed right?
I will not play these because of the slow structure. I am sure my hourly win rate will be higher in the turbo's and I don't have much time available during week times.

No, they are turbos (actually almost hypers but with 1500 starting chips and 10/20 first level), and as I remember they start without antes until the 100/200 lvl, just like tournaments were in the old days. 3 minutes each level. Paying the first 36 and 6.80 dollars first place.

Also you can mix in some 90 mans (0.50 and 1) if you donīt have a problem with different formats. When I was playing MTTSNGs during one tilt break from cash, I played about 400 mixing 90, 180 and 360 in the nanos and I used almost the same strategy, and exactly the same once we got to shotstack play. Playing only 0.10 and 0.50 180, your volume will be really low (that is, if volume is a concern for you ofc).
