Fk I'd love a shower right now though. Gameplan is to chill in bed til around lunch time tomorrow when I'll have my first coaching session of the year! Might get some light study done tonight but planning really on just chilling.
Never really done fasting but can imagine keeping the mind active to distract being the best way to power through.

Can't say I have any intention of going to the extreme you're going to but hope you come out the other side alive!

Yeah I suppose keeping yourself busy is a decent way to go about it. Tomorrow and the last day will be pretty tough in terms of focus and actually using my brain but we'll do our best. Some people meditate during the worst of it, so probably the opposite of keeping yourself busy. Whatever works. I'm prob just going to mostly watch Netflix for 3 days I think.

this was what I meant, when I said moving slowly:

During this time a person can manage to fall. Consciousness, as a rule,

No, but get up everything, it should be quietly, holding on to

Hey Meale, have always enjoyed Your posts, didnít know you had a new PGC thread.

I walk around under 10% bf, I am curious as to why you are so bent on doing complete fasts? Do you enjoy them? There are more optimal, habit-forming methods to change your body.

Highly recommend intermittent fasting and swimming if you want to lose body fat while retaining muscle. Those things (plus a decent 4-5 day/wk lifting plan) is the nuts for losing fat.

I play on Ignition atm (check out my pgc) but have been interested in checking out PM. You know, I was playing there awhile back (I played HU), and the games were amazing for a few months...then out of nowhere all these HU bots (or similar players with exact same strat based on software) came with same very weird style and sat all the regs and I lost a bunch to them thinking I could exploit their strat, and couldnít. Maybe sometime I can pick your brain further about the site in general sometime?

Looking fwd to following/hopefully talking at some point

How do you even define "normal diet"... What's "normal" is us not eating for prolonged periods of time. What's not normal is having our insulin spiked 4+ times a day. Inflammation isn't normal. A dry fast is one of the best things you can do for your body and heals you in so many ways.

I'd argue so, yes. The body fat I lose in 3 days would take weeks to lose on this "normal diet", I'd also have to buy a bunch of food, establish a diet plan that caused caloric deficit etc etc. Not eating or drinking for 3 days is really, really simple. You just do nothing.

I'm bent on doing a single dry fast for the healing benefits and detoxification. I don't plan on doing dry fasts regularly. I will be going to the 4-5 day/wk lifting plan and doing intermittent fasting as soon as I've done the dry fast. I'll be substituting the swimming/cardio with a smaller eating window though (20 mins).

Yeah the HU games on PM turned to **** and I'd definitely not recommend playing HU on there. But the FR games are still the bees knees compared to Ignition. Always welcome to hit me up on Skype if you wanna know more! (info@harveymeale.com).

==============================

48 hours in, down to 90.4kg from 95kg. Have 1 day left. Have had absolutely zero hunger pains this past 2 days, honestly haven't really felt hungry at all! But I do have a pretty brutal headache now that I imagine will persist for the next day.

Gameplan will be in 24 hours, jump in the bath tub with some pink Himalayan salt and drink some coconut water at the same time and alternate between the coconut water and some Evian mineral water, plus a couple teaspoons of sodium bicarbonate. Will rehydrate doing that for a couple hours and then maybe later in the night mix up a cocktail of AVC/lemon juice/prune juice to really wring the kidneys out a bit more. I don't imagine I'll refeed then but will probably transition into a 4 day wet fast (7 days total) depending on how I'm feeling.

My sister got me a 2.5 hour spa voucher for Christmas so I've booked that in for the 6th, so that'll be a nice way to finish up the dry fast. Then as soon as I've managed a refeed, it'll be back in the gym and back on the grind!

I know squat about this stuff... it interests me at the academic level, but I have my own way of dealing with body weight issues.

Still there is website I dip into every now again called "Quack Watch" (possibly the oldest looking website on the planet)

According to them the human detox concept is pure invention;

The detoxification theory can enable con artists to gain great power over their customers by diagnosing and curing "potentially fatal" (but nonexistent) illnesses. "They have to invent the idea of toxins," says Peter Fodor, president of the Lipoplasty Society of North America, "because that gives them something to pretend they can fix."

It can be terrifying to believe that one's body is being poisoned by toxins from within. But if this were true, the human race would not have survived, says Vincent F. Cordaro, M.D., an FDA medical officer. "A person who retained wastes and toxins would be very ill and could die if not treated. The whole concept is irrational and unscientific."

just saying...I couldn't give a toss either way. If it works for you, JFDI.

all that will happen, is you will lose a bunch of weight, feel good for about 2 to 4 weeks. then spend the next 6 to 12 months gaining all the weight back and then some and be less healthy than when u started.

With that said, still a fan and love the blog.

Heart disease, diabetes, cancer, etc are manifestations of us as a society poisoning ourselves. Looking after your arteries, gut health, physical strength are things that most people tend to neglect. Did you know that musculature had one of the biggest inverse correlations with mortality in blue zone subjects. The amount of muscle you have on your body appears to influence how long you live.

I personally don't care to live to 100+ but the reason I'm taking the detox stuff so seriously is because it's going to help me to achieve my short term goals of fat loss, muscle development and sleep improvement.

What on earth makes you think this? I specifically said I wanted to practice a fasting focus lifestyle. This isn't some pure water fast and then refeed syndrome ****. The point is to conquor the metabolism and use scale feedback and prolonged fasts to gain lean body mass. There's literally no way I could gain the wait back on 1 meal a day if this becomes my lifestyle going ahead.

What You're describing is your typical fad diet that does have 80% recidivism but I guarantee you what I'm doing. Is not the same thing, not even close.

Plus one to all of that (and I'd add flexibility to your list, albeit you could include it in physical strength). My diet/workout regime covers all these things in spades...but none of that is really anything to do with "detoxification" as a marketing strategy.

This could easily become an exercise in semantics, so I'll just wish you luck, but add don't do the water thing for any more than three days.
