Hey mate,

Highest I played on Zoom was only 50nl, don't recall winrate but know it was around even over a smallish sample. Small winner at 25z. I haven't played on Stars in about 2+ years though.

And everyone who likes money should follow me to Pokermaster!

================================================

Daily Update - 2 Jan 2019

So I had my final meal tonight at 6:15pm, some burger/sandwich thing from Hooters. I went home, downed about 3 tablespoons of baking soda, and had a bath with some salt. I weighed in at 94.99kg, tried doing skinfold stuff with calipers but was getting quite different results each time and so decided not to do em. Still waiting for my digital calipers to arrive. I did measure waistline which came in at 99cm though so hopefully this combined with weight and before/after pics will give some sort of idea as to the changes I'm about to undergo.

I have 3 days of no food and no water. This is a hard dry fast which means no water contact whatsoever, i.e. no showers, no brushing teeth (although a bit of a teeth clean would probably be fine tbh). The idea behind this 3 day fast is to promote a bodily process known as autophagy which is basically the clean up of damaged cells. It's basically a defrag for your body, proteins and even DNA molecules that are damaged get repaired. After a day or two, I'll be in a state of ketosis and will start burning fat. The fat cells contain water and when they're broken down my body will essentially hydrate itself using fat. There's a myriad of heath benefits to dry fasting and I think it's the perfect way to kick off a routine geared towards fat loss.

The next 3 days are going to be hell, mostly because of the caffeine withdrawals. If you drink coffee every day and then go cold turkey, you can expect some maaad headaches. And, well, I've been drinking 5+ cans of coke, a couple redbulls everyday + 1-2 coffees for pretty much all of December. So what to expect: first, headaches - probably will have a headache for most of the next 3 days. Second will obviously be hunger and cravings. The hunger will be bearable, it usually comes and goes in waves, but still isn't pleasant. Then we'll likely get some heart palpitations at some point. Your heart will be in overdrive as your body is trying to kick toxins, can often feel like you're about to have a heart attack while fasting. Other symptoms might include pain in the kidney, some people think they can actually feel their kidneys going to work on the toxins during these fasts. Next will be dry mouth. This is one of the hardest things to deal with. When you want so desperately just to have a single drop of water, but you can't. Dry mouth affects people differently on dry fasts so hopefully I don't get it too bad. I might also get a bout of painful piss. You literally piss out sediments when doing dry fasts and this can cause urethral pain/burning. Let's see, what else? General weakness and lethargy. Probably some mind fog too.

After 72 hours has passed I'll break the fast by chugging some baking soda again to rinse out the kidneys and then I'll jump in a salt water bath while sipping on some Evian water. The key is to eeeease back into it with the water. Will be a slow rehydration process. Then once I've had a bit of salt water, I'll chug some lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and some prune juice to further detox the body. If after 3 days I'm not feeling too hungry, I won't refeed but if I'm desperate, I'll have a small refeed meal of frozen veges + chicken breast - the key on this refeed is to keep it small and to avoid carbs as that'll cause water retention. After the dry fast is done, hopefully I won't have to refeed and can just wet fast for another few days - the first 3 days or so is the hardest part and so I think it would be a pity to refeed when I can just transition from a dry to a wet fast.

Regardless, in about 4-7 days from now I'll look to move back to a 1 meal a day routine which will probably be a big ****off steak with butter, maybe some cheese or some ****. I wanna keep in keto as long as possible while cutting to the 10% bodyfat. So OMAD + Keto refeeds seems logical. And I'll start back at the gym during this period. Will probably have a 20 minute eating window per day and then just snake juice for the rest of the day, gym once per day. I imagine I'll mostly just be doing core stuff and some stretching initially, and then once I start feeling good again, hitting it hard.

I'm basically going to be lying around at home most of the next 3 days. I don't want to go out in the sun too much as I'll already be pretty dehydrated, but I will try go outside for a walk/massage once a day. My plan is to just do some work on Skype with some of my new signups and make sure my players are all good to go for the year ahead.

Will update as I lose my mind over the next few days. If anyone has much experience with prolonged fasting, leave a comment as I'd be interested to hear what your thoughts are!

Just spent a few minutes looking up dry fasting...interesting. Looking forward to reading how it goes.

Meale, have you ever done a fast like this before? Just be careful not to overextend yourself too early, as you have 363 days left in the year to make good health decisions.

That said, I wish you luck in your ambitious 2019 poker and fitness goals!

I've never actually heard of psmf, sounds interesting. I don't know much about the mechanics of the diet but seems cool. I did learn recently though that if you have a large excess of protein, your body turns it into sugar which can spike insulin and cause inflammation etc.

Sounds sick though, if you give it a crack lmk how you get on!

Hey m8, I've done a 48 hour wet fast before, so really a drop in the bucket compared to a 72 dry. I do appreciate you looking out for me, but I didn't really feel like eeeeasing into things this year... I think going ballz to the wall nice an early in the year is a good idea, mainly for mindset.

Certain things are definitely wise to ease into, like training again. I've basically had a month off gym and need to ease back into that so I'm not ruined for a week with DOMS... Also if I can pull off a 72 hour dry fast, there's something about knowing that you can survive for 3 days on absolutely nothing. When the going gets tough later in the year, or if I'm craving food, or struggling with whatever, I will be able to reflect upon this experience and IMO it'll bring me strength. I mean really anyone can do a 72 hour dry fast, it's just a matter of mindset.

It's also a suuuuper +EV way to detox and after a month of living off pringles and coke, I think that is much needed as I put health down as a big priority for me this year. Thanks so much for the well wishes man <3

me too, how the **** did we go from hookers and good stories to 3 days without drinking water, showering or brushing your teeth? no need to be so drastic with ****, just create a calorie deficit (do IF if you want) and lift, keep protein high and you'll get the results you want (although wanting to maintain 10% bf natty is probably harder than you think)

Re: 2019 - BALLZ TO THE WALL

I would advice you to only start with 36h the first week. (you can do the 72h the next weeks, don't push to hard when you do it the first time)

Reason for that is just that your body is too poisenened and is not ready for that kind of fast. (even more after that last month...)

Most people make the mistake to start this kind of fast being not fully hydrated, so make sure that you drink enough before you start. (meaning not drinking it all at once but over a period of time - 0,4 liter water is the gto amount every 45 minutes. (juice and other things are not counting) 3-4l a day 5l if you make sport.

Coffee, cola, alcohol are all things that dehydrating your body. Whenever you drink them you have to drink double the amount of water (or ever more) to stay fully hydrated. (otherwise= tiredness, headaches, concentration problems or real hangover...)

When I do dryfasting I do the following:
1. Start the day only with fruits/vegetables and the second half of the day only water. (diet change 1-2 weeks before fast would be gto)
2. Take en enema (I hope thats the right word^^) on the end of the day before sleep and take a bath afterwards.
3. make sure that you are hydrated still and then go to bed.
4. next step is the 36h full dry fast
things you need:
-a lot fresh air, walks outside at night or early in the morning are perfect
-make sure that you always move slowly when you move up from lieing or sitting. (after 30h fast)
-yoga, stretching or light sport is good. (light movements)

after that periode changing the diet to fruits/vegetables for 3-5days and then doing the dryfast again, this time you can go for 48h and the next time you can do 72h if you feel good enough.

Doing 72h when you dryfast for the first time is like running a marathon untrained, sure its possible with the right mindset, but its not good or healthy and can even be dangerous for your health.

Keep care mate!

You can combine the fasting with meditating and yoga. Its very powerfull.

Fasting= spiritual healing (an inner awakening, when your body shuts down your soul is rising, you will feel yourself more than ever before)
You will feel like new born after the detox is over and your cells getting renewed after each fasting. (your brain structure even changes for the better)

============

24 hours in and I'm down 3.3kg, I'm guessing it was pretty much all water weight. I haven't felt hungry at all yet which is nice. Just went for a walk on Beach Road, back home now. Fk I'd love a shower right now though. Gameplan is to chill in bed til around lunch time tomorrow when I'll have my first coaching session of the year! Might get some light study done tonight but planning really on just chilling.
