If I were you I'd find a pool and get good at swimming. No load on the knees. You're a driven dude- with those injuries and your mindset, if you hit the gym hard you will pick up a severe injury -

I guarantee it.

Yeaaahhh but If I brake my kneecaps at least I'll be shredded bruh. In all seriousness though, the knees don't seem to cause problems unless I squat past horizontal or run - they've actually gotten a lot better over the past few years somehow, I used to not be able to squat whatsoever but now I can but just need to be real careful. I haven't done any cardio whatsoever in years so not sure how the running will go.

I also really really hate swimming with a passion

Re: 2019 - BALLZ TO THE WALL

Yeah I was kind of going for humor there. I do know however that a study which analysed surgeries on meniscus tears found a dubious amount of positive outcomes as a result.. The author of the book which I was reading at the time said that the knee pain is not necessarily a consequence of the tear itself but of other weakened muscles/tendons which may have been affected. The fact you have shown improvement may be a consequence of reduced weaknesses in the tendons, cartilage or muscles.

If I track the study down I'll send a link.

Oh it's definitely some sort of meniscus thing what I have; it's not so much pain once I squat past parallel but more a gross discomfort - there's a giant clicking sound and if you put your finger on the outside of my knee while I go through that range of motion you can actually feel movement under the skin. :s

I really should try see a surgeon about getting it looked at or at least getting an MRI but I don't have any time now and just hope it doesn't fk up before the end of the year! I'm confident it'll be fine if I don't go too heavy on the squats and take the cardio verrry slowly/stretch/roll lots.

Try to see orthopedic doctor and then see further. I had jumpers knee, got good training exercises from physiotherapists and got it fixed quite fast. I thought it's something much worse with pain and issues with walking and balance. Didn't need to take mri's or anything and got diagnosed in 1 minute .

Re: 2019 - BALLZ TO THE WALL

Meale, as a guy that is 10+ years older and who used to be a collegiate athlete, I'd recommend taking care of the knees ASAP and not powering through.

If you keep lifting/exercising without fixing your meniscus(es), in the short term you will keep some of your fitness but eventually it will start impeding the ability to work out anywhere near to your full potential if at all. And you also run the risk of having long term injuries later in life.

On a side note, I'm taking my first trip to your native land in January ... got a sister living in the Gold Coast. Thinking of maybe registering for a small event at the Aussie Millions or playing cash, have you played much at the Crown Casino?

Yeah that sucks, definitely quite different from me though. I literally have no pain until I bend my knee past a certain point.

Yeah I'm not gonna argue with that, I definitely need to get round to sorting em out!

Crown is nice, Aussie millions is a lot of fun and decent cash games at that time of year. Do go!

What's the table limit for zoom there? How many h/hr do you average?

Also you do realize that this brag requires graph porn and stake breakdown?

I don't actually play zoom, that was just a siqqq bluff vs a garbage reg.

Will post some giraffes/breakdowns at the end of the month I get a about 220-250hph depending on how many tables I'm playing and if fr or 6m

Nice results, but i wouldn't suggest keeping so many buyins on bodog, it's a bit of a reverse freeroll

yeh you're right, but I'm shot taking fairly aggressively atm so 20-30k doesnt seem like a ton in terms of buyins. given how easy it is to cash in/ cash out though i should probably leave less on there indeed
