lmfao this hand is the most blatant colluding in the history of colluding

it's still exploitable as **** though, he could smash them by just calling very wide against this stupid action

I have a waaay better one from a couple months ago where I knew exactly what they were trying to do. It's the exact same format as this hand basically. They always try to have one player bet small and then once you call (effectively capping yourself as you'd never just flat the small bet) the other player check raises and the other one reshoves. So one day I had KTo on KT7tt and just called the small flop bet, likely clockwork old mate raises, his buddy calls, I overcall. Turn is a T and checks round. River checks to old mate who bets small, I just call (with the absolute nuts), his buddy then check shoves, he reshoves, and we call. One has jack high the other has 6 high.

The three biggest pots I've won in the last 3 months were all from teams colluding, granted one I sucked out on, but yeah there's something to be said for identifying teams and attempting to exploit them. In all liklihood though it's a losing proposition because they just squeeze you out of all the small pots and it becomes a nightmare winning any pots without the nuts.

It also feels waaay waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse when you run bad/lose pots vs cheaters because mentally knowing you're at a disadvantage and continuing to humor them because you think you might have some tiny edge still, just is absolutely brutal when they rek you or you're running horribly because you know you're being cheated.

That was basically why I "ragequit" Pcomm; because there's no worse feeling in poker when you're running bad with teams at every other table. :/

well tbh once you start trapping them and they do this **** with all sort of random airball then it doesn't translate into a small edge, it should be a gigantic edge, you can basically call anything that's like top pair+ to this action

It's trickier than it looks because you can't play many hands preflop when there's a 5 man team squeezing and backraising every time you vpip :')

In addition to that those ****ers will occasionally turn up with some ******ed two pair+ type hands. Also when you start calling them to artificially cap yourself you're allowing them to overrealize their equity with all kinds of **** hands. Also it's not always crystal clear who is teamplaying and who is just being a ******. You will make mistakes and overcall fish, who aren't teamplaying.

So while it's super easy to come up with counters in theory, it's not that easy to do it in practice.

And it's not like that they do this every hand. Sometimes they'll have good showdown value and you'll just miss a ton of value with your traps. Should take this into account as well. Oh, and that rake structure absolutely destroys you on higher stakes!

Yup. Although high stakes on that site is absolutely unplayable.

Hey mate, just waiting til the end of the month to post an update really. Bodog has been going really well and safe to say the transition from Chinese to normal poker again has been a pleasant one!

Why did you swap from chinese to bodog? Isn't winrates much higher at Chinese?

Too much cheating on the site I was on was the main reason.

Just a heads up, I have a room available in the Penthouse lease through til March, biggest penthouse apartment in Pattaya equipped with jucuzzi etc, 20k baht per month, email or skype at info@harveymeale.com if interested. My pm box here is nearly full.

Poker update in a few days once the month is over.

Poker

August is in the books and with that my first month back playing "real poker", not that Chinese nonsense, in about 2 years. I'm missing a bunch of hands in the below graph because I forgot to change my alias when saving the graph and now I'm on a different PC, but the $ value is about the same anyway, think it was $1k more actually and prob another 5-15k hands.

Even though you can't see it (because it's on my other alias), the first week I spent at 200NL was actually pretty turbulent. I honestly had no idea how to play 6max and basically punted a lot while adjusting to the unfamiliar format. Some of the hands I brought to coaching sessions were down right embarrassing. But it didn't take long for me to get the gist of things and a bit of pleasant variance made August a very nice transition month for me. Graph below is all 200nl.

GL all you mothefkers playing the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS may all of us win the main event.

At the end of the month I jumped into some 500nl games with about a 8 buyin shot. I lost 4 buyins so far but I'm hoping I can make this shot stick and can play 500 as my main game going forward because the ~9bb/100 in rake at 200nl is kind of absurd.

Fitness/Health

Three days ago I finally deadlifted 200kg for the first time. It was not a pretty rep but it was a deadlift. Super ***** stoked to have hit that milestone especially since this past month I've been experimenting with removing caffeine completely from my diet to improve my sleep quality. The quarter life of caffeine is 12 hours so if you have a cup of coffee at 9am it's the same as having a quarter cup of coffee at 9pm which I figured was likely having an impact on my sleep.

Needless to say, removing all caffeine from my diet made absolutely no change to my shite sleep quality and all it did was make my workouts absolutely piss weak - not having a pre workout really makes a huge difference for me, and I've decided that I'll be taking pre workout again because if I can't get good sleep regardless I may as well have good workouts.

Partying/Degenning

I've basically been on a 3 day bender recently. The turnover rate of Thai girls my room has been seeing lately is absurd and yesterday after a friend's birthday party I decided it would be a terrific idea to drop acid at about 6am, and then I ended up walking home mostly tripping still in the afternoon.

Went out drinking/partying probably 2-3 too many times this month. And I say this **** every month but September-November I'm really going to try pull my head in on that front.

September

Planning on playing a bunch of WCOOP this month, basically just all the $55s and $109s depending on start time and whatnot. I am still in the process of figuring out how playing MTTs everyday is going to affect my gym/sleep/study schedule and so I'm not really going to set any volume goals for Sept, but if I can keep these girls out of the penthouse, stay relatively sober, and still hit the gym, it'll be a good month.

PS still have a room available in the penthouse, 20k baht til March.

Gl all <3
