I guess I'll do a full update at the end of the month but just quickly, the app I was playing on got unplayable due to the collusion problem spreading rapidly from 10/20/40 down to 5/10/20. Every table has cheating on it. Coincidentally I had my worst session of my life, losing 16.5 buyins in just under 5 hours. Was doing pretty well for the month up until that point, but I guess that session pretty much wiped out any profit post rake for the month.

I decided the site isn't worth playing on any more due to the rampant cheating going on and have spent the last few days reevaluating my options. I considered going back to private Chinese IP Pokermaster games but wasn't happy with the conditions that the clubs were offering. I considered FishPoker but smallest stake is 10/20/40 and I don't really want to play that high after getting rekt for 33k rmb a few days ago. I thought about going back to ********* but was hesitant about the site security and don't like having to make such a big deposit.

It was actually my coach who managed to convince me to give Ignition a crack and so I'm pleased to announce I'll be taking my talents to the IGN streets joining the ranks of Mason, Scotty, Skuz, Tgiggs, Bani, etc. Plan is to spend the next couple days adjusting to the games and watching my coach play to get a feel for meta/preflop stuff. I have been playing 8max straddle games for the last 2 years and have never actually played 6max cash professionally so it's going to be a pretty big change for me. But I'm super super excited to get stuck in.

Saturday night we're going to party it up and then be hungover and as we enter August I'll look to begin grinding 200nl (most likely reg tables) for a good 6-7 hours a day. I'll also be in the books hard next month as I'm going to be exercising parts of my poker brain that I haven't used in over 2 years and will likely be scheduling a few extra coaching sessions while I get the hang of things. I've been playing 100nl for last couple days just mucking around and the games are quite absurd.

Gameplan I suppose is to grind 200nl and once I'm confident I've made that player pool my *****, switch to 500nl. Exciting times ahead!

Are you able to name the site with the cheating?

Only time I've noticed extremely obvious collusion was on Pokerlords about a year ago.

yea i was on pokercommunity for like 1 week. some of the things i saw was so completely ridiculous.

GL with IGN, the games there are so soft you probably already have 5bb+ there and most likely don't even need to watch your coach play etc...but w/e i get it.

the plan is to play only reg tables to do some siq exploits and make the most of having a hud, that said I can't say I won't flick in some zone at some point, but I really hope I stay away from it. My whole game since the start of the year has been focussed around playing 3-4 tables with maximum focus and playing as exploitatively as possible to maximize focus, minimize mistakes, and ultimately maximize winrate. And I think I'd like to continue that at reg tables.

Spoiler:

My results at 5/10/20 since I started in April.

More importantly, my game since the start of that graph has improved so so much by studying every day and getting coached once a week.

Keen to see what winrate is possible for me in 200-500 reg tables and beyond!

if you're so well versed in these chinese apps and being able to spot "blatent" cheating, then why did you sit and lose 16 buyins in a session in games where people were obviously colluding?

not to mention stanning for PM all the way up until the beginning of the year, your judgment seems suspect tbh

2019 - BALLZ TO THE WALL

4 tabling on Bodog without zone is super slow Bc of the new software and v long timebank. I estimate I get ~50-65 Hands/hour per table postupdate, used to be 80+. If u wanna play just reg tables Id add another site if I were you. If u just wanna play Bodog and only 200 Id do 2x zone and 2x reg tables. Glgl

IDK, the Chinese name for it was FirePoker I think but I'm not sure what you mean by PKW/PKC. It's just called PokerCommunity and pre much everyone I know refers to it as PC or Pcomm for short.

I'd actually had winning days for 7 days straight prior to that last session. And to be honest probably only 2-4 buyins I lost from that last session were due to collusion. Usually if I see cheating i just leave the table and find another one, but it got to the point where the last couple days were pretty much every table was fkd.

My approach of tagging cheaters and changing tables had worked remarkably well for the most part but I guess losing 16 buyins in a day was enough to push me over the edge.

PM sadly is still the best app option for grinders in my expert opinion but clubs have upped rake, upped action, upped insurance, and require a bunch of hoops to jump through to play which I can't be farked with anymore.

That graph I posted above was exactly 250 hands per hour. So I don't mind netting 250 an hour but yeah if it gets down to closer to 200 then I'm probably going to neck myself at some point.

What I did notice was that it's suuuuuper easy to just sit there and grind IGN games without fatiguing. Like 4 tabling PC games I'd be pretty zapped after 1 hour and 10 minutes usually, and would definitely have earnt my break by 90 minutes in. Last night I sat down and played for 3 hours and hardly noticed it. So I think playing a high number of hours per month will be a walk in the park on this site.

I usually have a rule where I never play more than 90 minutes per session as it's impossibly to perform at 100% focus for longer than 90 minutes at a time, BUT I think for IGN I'll extend that to 2 hours - the less chopping and changing sessions for me will mean more hands on my HUD to use.

So usually I'd play like 6 hours a day at 250hph, but I think I'll have to up that to 7 hours a day for IGN to compensate for how physically easy the grind is but also more hours in the month will be vital as I'll be taking a hit to my hourly as winrate won't be as high as it was on app obv.

If I try to play for any more than 7 hours a day, I'm going to run into some time management issues as 7 hours of gameplay is about 60-90 mins of study in the evening, so I'd be working 8-9 hours a day everyday which is really hard to do when you're trying to get 9 hours sleep a day and you're in the gym for 2 hours a day.

So first week of August will basically be me feeling out how I'm going to manage my sessions and study etc.

2019 - BALLZ TO THE WALL

I like to study by reviewing the hands from the previous day prior to playing. I feel Im more attentive bc Im not tired from playing and it serves as a good warmup to my sessions.

Ill also take one day per week after my day off where I spend the same amount of time on the computer as I normally do but will not play any poker. I dedicate this entire day to study. This serves as a warmup for the entire week and ends up giving me around 3:1 ratio of play/study.

My personal approach is more a function of the time of day and existing time management strategies more than anything. By that I mean, timezone plays an integral part in when I choose to play my volume. Being in Asia means I want to be getting the bulk of my volume in during the morning which is peak US time. So if I want to play 7 hours a day, it makes sense for me to do that first thing and then spend my 1-2 hours studying afterward when the games are dying off.

I also get pretty bad cabin fever and like to get out of the house and study in a cafe on my laptop, as the thought of reviewing hands for 2 hours after already sitting at my desk clicking buttons for 7 hours doesn't exactly inspire the greatest care when analysing hands.

If I wanted to study in the morning as a warm up, I'd need to get up earlier and then I'd still be trading the best time of day to be playing with the worst time toward the back end of my volume.

Obviously this is all just preference though and I definitely think there's merit to studying first as a form of a warm up. If the shoe fits, wear it!

It's the way you speak with authority on a subject you know literally nothing about, which is whether I got cheated or not. Comes off as pretty bitter to me.
