subbed for sure. was very impressed with how your 2018 thread started out, you are a passionate and focused dude. all the best in 2019 mate

In, gl man.

Also getting below 10% isn't easy, it will require you to do very strict dieting and you won't be able to have many if any cheat meals.

Also lean bulking isn't really difficult it just isn't the best way to gain alot of muscle in a period of time if that's you're goal.

If you aren't a beginner when it comes to gym gaining 10-12kg of muscle mass and being a poker pro will require some serious dedication.

You generally seem to be self aware and very honest with yourself... but this post confuses me.

22% body fat is classed as "overfat" by NIH/WHO guidelines. It's definitely not what I think most people would consider "fairly lean".

Best of luck to you. You've set great goals.

For me it seems like an absolute no brainer NOT to do PEDs. I'm not competing in bodybuilding or powerlifting or anything, I just want to improve my health and look better. Even if I was to compete in anything like this, I'm too far from genetic potential to consider going down that route imo.

Fk cardio, not even once. :') Nah but srs might do some eventually just for cardiac health but there's no need to do cardio to stay lean imo. Can stay in a caloric deficit just from fasting/OMAD v easily. 2.5k cals in 1-2 meals is plenty.

But imo 12-14% bf is the sweet spot u are OK to **** chicks, with 10% u will be so skinny DYEL with shirt without pump
Yeah, kinda not looking forward to having the strung out look while super lean but tbh 9-10% is pretty different from say 7% and I don't want to be that lean any time soon. I feel like getting lean finally and then bulking super clean from there will be a more rewarding route for me personally, having bulked from like 17-20% previously and never having abs.

GL 2019,im disappointed about you have no girls bang goal
Me too tbh. Last few days I've been on a tear on the girls front, trying to get it all out of the system while I can!

Cheers chicagodude, hopefully I'll be able to show you a very quick and easy way to get to under 25%! It's called basically stop eating. Like fasting. Til you're ripped. Proggies on this front to come!

If you're eating 3+ meals a day, then yes it requires very strict dieting. But if you're eating once a day and then fasting for 48 hours a week, it'll be a piece of piss.

Yeah we'll see. Possibly 10-12kg in the year is out of reach, especially since I'll be experimenting with different diet approaches to conventional stuff, but I'm pretty confident if I work super hard in the gym AND manage to fix my sleep, I'll definitely make some solid gainz. Whether it's 10-12kg or not, we'll just have to see! If I'm 90kg at 10% bf by the end of the year, I will be happy tbh but would much prefer to be 95kg.

I'm going to be checking what the calipers say tomorrow before taking some before pics but I'm pretty sure it'll be around 22%... Here's what I mean when I say I'm pretty lean still... I took these pics I think maybe 30-60 days ago?

Idk, could be under 20% but i've defo put a bit of fat on since then, as I have stopped gymming this past month for the prop.

Nice goals boiiii!

Callipers might be a bit inaccurate and hard to do yourself. Well, all the bodyfat measurements seem to vary wildly tbh, but this seems the most variable, even when readings are taken by trained professionals. Is there no special scale thing at your gym? Might be better as at least it's gonna be easier to see your progress. It will remain calibrated rather than some bogan clipping at flesh giving, different readings every time

I've also been struggling with sleep. Def think the screen ban a couple hours before bed it a great rule to follow. I also recommend the book ' Why We Sleep' by Dr Matthew Walker. Some of the trials he mentions will blow your mind. The brain is freaky as hell!

Good luck for 2019 sir

do the navy bodyfat method, its very simple and accurate to +/-3% i believe. i would estimate from my limited knowledge and the pic you posted you are around the 20% mark
01-01-2019 , 11:29 PM
a legit 10% body fat is basically shredded, very hard to do for anyone let anyone a poker player who sits on his ass all day.

Cheers for the sub M8, fwiw I think calipers are def more accurate than some scale, have no idea how standing on something is supposed to tell your bodyfat lmao. At the end of the day, I'm not terribly fussed what my ACTUAL number is, so long as I see that reduction via whatever means I use to measure it (calipers).

The sleep thing will be one of the hardest parts about this year imo but I'm hoping that with this screen curfew, a schedule more in line with natural circadian rhythms, lots of exercise, no caffeine (other than pre workout), lots of sun etc that I'll be able to finally make some progress on this front. If the sleep is fkt it pretty much GG's everything, especially the fitness goals.

It seems every 5 minutes there a new 'most accurate' scan or test. Everything is pretty inaccurate but I'm not too fussed re accuracy more so consistency with whatever I use to measure with.

And yeah 20% there looks about right, and I have def put on a good 2% more pure fat since I'd guess. :')

Who said anything about sitting on their ass all day? :P Granted I'll probably be on my ass for a good 7-8 hours a day but being in the gym for 2 hours a day should hopefully outweigh that.

Definitely will be tough for sure but I'm excited to push myself and see what's possible.

Longtime lurker, followed your last thread closely. Good luck with the challenges you've set yourself this year - think the gym/diet one is the toughest (we've all gone through swings in this area I think). Keeping to a set schedule the key for everything as well as thinking of food as something for fuel as opposed to enjoyment will help you most with this.
