2019 - BALLZ TO THE WALL 2019 - BALLZ TO THE WALL

12-30-2018 , 01:41 PM
So 2018 for me was an interesting year, and you can read about that in my previous PGC thread here. I started with the best of intentions but ended up slowly losing my soul to the allure of a city full of delicious Asian women. It wasn't all bad news and misbehaving though, as I made pretty big strides with regard to my 'side business' that is agenting for Pokermaster games. I also binked a volume prop bet to finish off 2018 which was cool.

This past month while grinding all day everyday I've pretty much survived off of coke, Redbull, and pringles, and I'm about as fat as I've ever been, and as unhealthy as I've ever been. While I'd say my poker game has improved since I started doing more off-table work last month, I'm not happy with the stagnation I've noticed in my ability as a poker player.

Anyway, as much fun as it's been out here in Thailand degenning on the local talent, I've decided it's about time to get serious again and figure now is as good a time as any for me to pull my head in. To those of you who enjoyed to tales of degeneracy in the former thread, you need not subscribe to this one because it will be significantly more boring! Indeed this thread will be entirely about poker, poker study, diet, and gym stuff. I'm planning on giving myself 1 day a month to let loose and go wild, so maybe a few degen stories sprinkled throughout the year.

POKER GOALZ

[ ] - 600k hands - 30 hours of volume per week, 50 weeks of the year, so 1500 hours. At minimum 400 hands per hour, so 600k hands.
[ ] - 1 hour study every day, 6 days a week, so 300 hours total.
[ ] - Receive 1 hour's coaching every week, have booked DownandUnder for the year! These two goals will I think lead to the following goal,
[ ] - Move up to 10/20/40 - For those who don't know, I play on Pokermaster and this is approximately 600NL USD. This is sort of a pointless one but I'm putting it here for a reason. Basically I want to play all of my volume this year at minimum 5/10/20 but if I play 600k hands at 5/10/20 with any sort of winrate, there's no sense in staying there and not moving up obviously. That said, maybe the state of the games gets much harder this coming year, whatever. The point is that I want to gtfo of where I've been stagnant lately at 2/4/8 and make some actual progress stakes-wise. Realistically, if I study hard every day for 1 hour and get coaching at least once a week, there's absolutely no reason I won't be mixing in good 20/40/80 games by the end of the year.
[ ] - Improve poker ability massively - Again, this is a silly sort of qualitative goal but the reason I'm putting this in here is because I want to get so damn good at poker that if the Chinese market dries up over the next few years, I'm so ***** good that I can crush online poker on any poker site. It's basically like career insurance.

That's it. 30 Hours a week gameplay on max of 6 tables, which will be 5 hours a day 6 days a week, 1 hour of study each day, and 1 coaching session per week. These goals are NOT difficult and are very very achievable. 2019 is going to be a super tough year for me, but that's because I have extremely lofty health goals, not poker stuff. Poker is absolutely the priority but if I execute on those few things, I'll most definitely excel in this area.

BUSINESS GOALZ

Over the past year I've poured a bit of time and energy into signing players up to Pokermaster and other Chinese sites. My goal has been to make it easy and stress-free to get involved in the Chinese app market and I'd say I've done pretty well so far. I have about 10 players currently that are playing on Pokermaster and they all seem to be quite happy and are doing well results-wise. Basically, I get a very small % of the rake these guys generate and these past couple months it's turned into quite a nice source of passive income. I've always wanted a business that generates passive income, something I can run with very little effort on my behalf that helps pay the bills. I don't suspect this business will be around in 20 years but it's certainly a nice little side hustle for the moment and I want to continue working on it in the new year.

[ ] - Maximum 40 minutes a day to business/my players - My partner will have a lot more time this year to focus on this stuff but I also want to make sure I'm available to my players for 40 minutes a day to handle things like answering questions from prospective players, doing sweat sessions, installing software via Skype/TeamViewer, and various other tasks like calculating rakeback, handling cashouts, etc etc.

Obviously I'd like to continue adding more players to my ranks but I suspect when people see how profitable the Pokermaster market is, they'll continue reaching out to me organically and the business will run itself more or less.

HEALTH GOALZ

[ ] - Get under 10% bodyfat and stay there all year round - I'm waiting for my calipers to arrive via Lazada shortly but I would estimate I'm around 22-23% at the moment. Still look fairly lean but definitely starting to get a bit of a gut going this past month.
[ ] - Fasting focus lifestyle - I want to make intermittent AND prolonged fasting an integral part of my lifestyle. My gameplan is to initially begin the year with a 3 day dry fast, then continue on OMAD with a few 48s until I'm under 10% bodyfat. The plan is to then "bulk" while doing an OMAD routine using scale feedback and maybe weekly 48s.
[ ] - 95kg bodyweight by end of the year - I'm currently 95kg but obv at ~22% bodyfat. When I get down to under 10% bodyfat I'll have to gain ~10-12kg of lean muscle by the end of the year to get back to the 95kg mark. This will be the most difficult goal for me this year. I know how to gain muscle but to do 10kg+ in a year will really require a lot of dedication. Everything from sleep to macros need to be perfect and it'll also mean less degenning to actually accomplish it.
[ ] - Fix sleep - I have had and still have a terrible relationship with sleep. I plan on fixing it by implementing a 2 hour screen curfue before bed. No technology 2 hours before bed. I also plan on bringing my schedule forward, so that I'm getting up at 8am and going to bed at 11am. These are two things I did not attempt earlier this year when looking to fix my sleep issues. I'm confident that these two small things, combined with better diet etc will help me to get much better sleep. And much better sleep will allow me to put on that lean body mass too.

There's a bunch of other things that I will be doing as well like daily stretching and foam rolling to improve flexibility and mobility, lying in the sun for 30+ mins a day, etc etc, but those are the main objectives.

Will certainly be challenging but I'm excited to see what can be accomplished if I really work as hard as I possibly can this year. I'll be keeping a diary and writing in it daily as well as updating this thread daily. I watched a talk last week and the guy said, imagine if when your life ends, you get to heaven and God says well done, but this is what you could have accomplished, this is what your true potential looked like, and then shows you a completely different person to you. The goal is to do every single thing possible to make myself identical to that person, the greatest version of myself.

I also watched a talk by Darren Hardy talking about the 'compound effect' and it was probably the most impactful speech I've ever listened to in my life. I'd highly recommend jumping on YT and looking at it if you've not already! In my diary I'm planning on logging all of the 'choices' I make throughout the day and holding myself accountable to whether each action takes me in the right direction or wrong direction with respect to becoming self-actualised.

Anyways, enough rambling. I'll have my "final meal" at 7PM on Thursday 3rd January, and then it's full steam ahead!

I hope you plan on taking steroids because under 10% body fat is pretty ****ing hard naturally if you're trying to build muscle too, at least you won't be able to maintain the low bodyfat % when you bulk again

Getting under 10% isn't really hard naturally imo. It's also possible to stay anabolic and gain muscle while staying lean, despite popular opinion. We're in a very interesting time as far as nutrition science goes with a lot of conventional 'wisdom' being proven to be garbage.

I know it'll be difficult and I'm not saying it WILL happen but I do think it's possible using unconventional methods and I'd like to illustrate that through this thread.

Nice goals

If gym goals are your thing is there any reason you don't use PEDs, assuming you don't? The little I know about the subject it seems like an absolute no brainer. Fair enough if you don't want to talk about the subject publicly.

And in.

You can build muscle but slow asf, i recommend u to stay at 12% min unless you do cardio everyday otherwhise you will be eating like 2,5k ish calories a day to maintain 10% or maybe less cals and that sucks but if u wanna maintain low bf year around the best option is to do cardio everyday so you can eat more :P

But imo 12-14% bf is the sweet spot u are OK to **** chicks, with 10% u will be so skinny DYEL with shirt without pump

GL 2019,im disappointed about you have no girls bang goal
