Multi-Session update: NLHE, NLHE tournament/Satellite, PLO
Well, I got back to into the Black for the week as of the last update, but that did not last very long haha.
Thursday evening, I played in the best, deepest, most action packed NLHE game that might run all year at the card club I play at. 1/2 NLHE game with almost 20,000 in play and multiple $1,000+ pots per hour. There was one pot where a guy called $400 preflop with 53 against an all-in who had AA and the flop was 246...bye bye AA.
Anyway, the game was super deep with action packed spots so I bought in for about $2,600, which was 75% of the biggest stack. I then played the hand below
Hero (2,500): 6
4
in BB
UTG opens to $25
4 callers, all deep stacks but I cover
Hero completes action in BB
Button is Indian Reg that fluctuates between Super Lag or Super nit depending on how long he's been playing and if he is stuck. Much looser earlier in the game, only nits it up if he gets up big early.
Flop $150:5
3
2
.....BINGO!!
Hero checks
UTG ($900) bets $50 (peculiar small bet)
2 folds
Button ($2,000): Raises to $250
Action folds to hero
Hero ($2500): Raises to $650
UTG folds
Button Shoves $2,000
Hero snaps covering
Hero Shows: 6
4
for the flopped straight
Button Shows: 6
4
for the flopped straight AND FLUSH DRAW
I am playing a $4,000+ pot at "1/2" NLHE and I am getting free-rolled!!!!!!!!
Talk about a disgusting spot to be in...even more disgusting when the K
hits the river...
Shortly after I lose the rest of my stack with an overpair vs flopped set. Tucked my tail and went home after that.
Best game I might play in all year, and I got absolutely wrecked for -$2,600
Friday I played a long 9 hour session where I ended +$1,300 cutting previous days losses in half. Most interesting hand from that session was also against the Indian Reg above, I'm a little fuzzy on the exact details, but I successfully pulled off the check/raise river bluff against him after putting him exactly on one pair and getting him to fold after 5 minutes in the tank. I showed him the bluff and he proceeded to go on mega tilt right away losing $1,500 in the game after that hand.
Saturday, I did not play any poker. Needed a breather after last 2 days.
Sunday, played the ME qualifier satty, came in 4th for $460 on a $240 buy in. Did not advance to next weeks Main event seat give away, but making money is just as fine too. I was card dead for what felt like the whole tournament, so I am very pleased with the results.
I then played a home PLO game later that night where I profited $600 in 2.5 hours. Made nut flush on very first hand and stacked a guy to start immediately up $500...it's good to have those types of starts
Overall, down a bit since the last update but in a good spot moving forward. Only down $460 since last update and all things considered I'll take that as a win
2018 Bankroll Challenge: $21,570/$100,000
