Sup guys I've been slacking/getting used to being back at work.
It's time to get back on the grind.
I'm starting Easter long weekend/tax refund season so I hope I start off well.
I've been working back at the same company I was at in 2015 that I quit for poker.
I blogged about it in the first blog/thread I made.
I will try to work there at least until I finish my Gas A ticket for for 4-5 years and possibly just life.
I can only play so much poker and I think playing nights and weekends is enough for me.
I feel good being active at work and enjoy the social aspects again.
I won't be able to travel much for poker which kinda sucks at least not for the first year of being back.
Eventually it would be awesome if I could work 10-11 months per year and travel at least to Edmonton and Montreal events.

I shouldn't reqally make profit goals but I'm hoping to play around $30K CAD ($23K USD) in buyins per month and expect to get around 20-40% ROI.
I'm working on a schedule that has mainly less than 400-500 entrants. I'll be really strict with this.
I think I should still take the fun sunday shots though but Monday-Sat I will stick to high value/smaller field tourneys as well as MTTSNGS and timed tourneys.
I'm going to try to meticulously track my results in google drive:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets..._CU/edit#gid=0

I will just track MTTs.
MTTSNGS/Timed **** I can filter for easily on sharkscope so I won't include them.

I see all these guys with Turbo Kings avatar so I decided to 1 up it and designed this new avatar:

GOOD SUNDAY!

Good weekend back in general. I still have tomorrow off work so I'll go hard.
I was rusty with some ranges but feel okay or at least confident that I'll fix them soon.

I was going hard in the paint!

Shipped a $3r

A small 10e KO:

$16.50 rebuy:

Chopped $16.50 bubble rush:

Took degen shot in global poker $540 $200K GT and bricked
I probably shouldn't have played that or the Betonline $99r.

For the most part I skipped the higher variance games.
I need some more discipline on the other sites though.

So far:

**** reminiscing a bit. I used to grind freerolls everywhere. All the low key sites I'd hunt down the freerolls.
I remember my first win was on Luvin Poker. I think both these sites don't exist anymore. Getting old ffs.

Young Jedi has come a long way.
I bet if I traveled back in time and had a convo with my 21 year old self grinding those freerolls. He would say I exceeded his expecations in poker. I may have disapointed him in a bunch of ways but not poker. Hopefully I keep working hard. I remember bugging donut604 and traveller99 for HHs and stupid questions back on the 604poker forums. "This guy raise folded on 7bbs OTB is that a thing why did he do it he's a winning player?!??!" or I saw this German player flat Q2s in SB vs CO and he just randomly lead out is this a new strategy thing". I'd have the fishiest questions and logic. He's german so he must be pretty good. These germans are onto something. I ****in love poker. I loved it enough to piss off the exgf back then lol when I would be grinding freerolls like it's life or death. Now that I've gotten decent at it and can make some money I love it even more. I used to idolize these players. I guess that is how a lot of people start. I was grinding 2c/4 limit and just auto-assumed the $1/2 grinders were genius gods. Then I'd watch them and see ******ed plays and I would be confused because I had already set them as good in my mind.

Anyway I'm grateful for poker. I'm glad it exists.

This month has been good. Work has been good too I like it.
Might as well celebrate it a bit cause **** you never know with life I'm sure there will be something in the future that'll humble me. My final table distribition has been **** but I've gotten a lot better at ICM. I've barely been studying or reviewing so I'll have to take a day this week.

**** the heater continues. I've been keeping average entrants low to reduce variance. I meant to register a couple satelites to the nightly $162 BB on stars and I didn't think I won a satelite but the tourney popped up. I checked sharkscope and I indeed didn't win so I guess I misclick registered directly in which is kinda crazy but I went on to ship it for $8.9K!

That whole weekend was great. I came 2nd on Sunday in a $33 hyper to win $2.2k and I've just been on a heater. I've been taking shots at a few nightly $109s and stuff but shouldn't really do that. Everything on the night schedule is soft and worth playing and with smaller fields I think it's a great schedule. I've done **** all for study but I've been marking tons of hands to study for ICM spots and all kinds of spots. I have been using my hud and stats to the max but I think I need to get more coaching from Alan Jackson or somebody who has a really strong understanding of mtt stats and how to exploit. I have everything set up and I know how to utilize the obvious stats like high c-bet OOP % say 60% but very high check-fold % I will flat these players more IP since they don't protect their checking range it's easy to exploit them. Lately I've been trying out different random exploits and just trying to think about the game more. The player pools are smaller at night so I'll try to do a massive study on every decent player one of these nights. It's been encouraging being on a heater. I only clear $3000-$3500 CAD at work per month so I am very happy to be making so much in poker and I won't take it for granted or ease off the gas.

Here is my graph since getting back into gasfitting apprentice job:

I've withdrawn a bunch so I can't degen all the nightly $109s/$162s and $82s yet. I'll stick to $7-$44 reg speed until I have $42K in the bank or enough for another 10% deposit on the apartment.

Fast forward from the early poker years to 2015. I got to see my friends Stu and Razvy or Paulsmiley and Razvyqq crush the games and I was working full-time and thought **** if I try really hard I can crush too and I went for it. I was grinding insane hours after work and on weekends April-May 2015 (tax refund season). Games were good and I had a crazy heater and binked a satty to $320 wednesday night $100k on stars and I came 4th I think for almost $10k. Then I started talking strategy/getting coached from the legend Yugiohpro and quit my job to grind full-time and things were awesome. Since then I've met tons of great players like Adam Owen, Modzillapl whom I stayed with in Edmonton for a few weeks. I had to admit to him that my username on betonline was Modzillapl so I was a fanboy. I remember messaging BBZ saying congrats on Modzillapl chopping the big Sunday 10 milly.* One of the coolest things was I got to meet Apestyles. We both did the same Vipassana retreat and he's been to my house! I had his books when I was starting out and stuff and I was always a big fan. I've watched all his cardrunners videos and had some coaching from him. If I told myself 5 years ago I'd hang out with him I wouldn't really believe it. He's binked a milly score since then and damn I hope I keep grinding and eventually work hard enough to be able to play the higher stakes and bink big scores. Anyway man I've been grateful to meet and work with/learn from so many great players. I've been good friends lately talking lots with Canadian G and Christaborg the twitch legend and Rmullen all super good local poker players. I hope we all crush for years to come.

That is amazing

Solid and optimistic post, happy all is going well for you And oh yeah, I highly recommend trying ayahuasca bro, it is much like a vipassana retreat, just sooooo intense, you get there in 20 minutes, with your demons (sankharas) coming out and sooo much love (meta) as well!!! (I have a contact for Van if you are ever interested...). Also, will be in Vancouver/Vancouver Island all of July, so let's meet up for a coffee friend!

Don't usually follow tournament threads, but thought I'd make an exception and pop in and say hi and good luck lol. Hope you keep those wins coming!
