Hi All

Long term member here looking to reignite Poker after a few months absence.

Previously family, work and gaming have come between me and my love of poker but with the latter firmly on the back burner its become time to have "1 last shot" at seeing what I can do with this great moneymaker...

I am going to be playing Zoom. I will be starting with 25BI for 2nl Zoom and plan to move up when I reach 25BI for the next level. I shall move down if my roll becomes less than 20BI at any given point.

I am still going to be fairly casual... I aim to spend January only 2 tabbling and maybe only 500-1000 hands per day whilst I get back into the swing of things. February move to 3 tables and March to 4 aiming for 1000-2000 hands a day.

Am I going to get very far with average of 1,000 hands a day? No. Am I going to get to 100nl playing 365,000 hands from 2nl? No. I acknowledge this and that why I leave the title as ?nl...

This is a recreational but serious challenge. If I hit a heater for first few months then maybe volume will increase... I dont know... I have other life commitments. But if come December 2017 I can turn around and see improvement and this thread still continuing unlike the other 99% then 2017 will have been a success!

Ultimately averaging 365,000 hands for the year I will be disappointed if I dont reach 25nl... But we shall see...

I aim to update this thread at least twice a week, hopefully more.

This challenge will start on 1st January 2017. I shall use the upcoming days to go over some of the great articles from BlackRain79 and set the HUD up so I am ready to go.

Hopefully a few will sub and make this worthwhile! I will be using PT4 so will try to post graphs when updating from my home computer.

Why would anyone grind 2NL from scratch I mean, considering the Rake and the time it will take I think you should start at NL5. The only thing that changes from Zoom 2NL to 5NL is that in Zoom 2NL 3-betting = nuts. and in Zoom 5NL 3-betting is only 85% Nuts if you get what I'm saying.

Anyway gl on your challenge but be aware if you drop down if you have 20BI I heard the 2ct 900 man sit n gos are soft

I feel the jump from 2nl to 5nl is the biggest out of all the levels in proportion. Most people who play 5nl have graduated from 2nl whereas 2nl is full of fresh out the box fish. Don't get me wrong, neither should be tough... but if I'm going to do this I'd rather satisfy myself and do it properly. It will also be a good homing ground to iron out any leaks early doors.

Each to their own, I completely understand why some would skip 2nl

There is literally no difference in NL2z and NL5z like none this is really the absolut worst form of poker. It's basically waiting for a good hand, and thats it.

Was just trying to help, deuces
