Looks like your your too passive and the aggro regs/bots are just owning you post flop IP.

H4 is too passive for tptk in 4bet pot. I would bet flop 50% and jam any turn, if your beat ul.

h5 is not a cooler its a clear fold imo.

H11, how do you expect to win a 4bet pot, with 8s oop against a lag tard? Jam it in his face pre flop. look at his stats, should be way plus ev than flatting.

Well I'm not used to the zoom fish playstyle.
Fish are either totally crazy or then the standard nitfish "play face up" style.
I later learned that the guy could be crazy. I also had read that he slowplayed

Usually it's more hands like these:

I think mobile poker has given room for more fish to join.
Regs now have basic stats figured out. Some weaker regs are still outdated even preflop.
This shift happened about 1 year ago where everyone started doing 1/3 instead of 50/70. that made games a lot more easier to play for some regs.

there are those very best regs who are good IP, some ppl overvalue SDV including me.
h5 is really hard to fold in-game, but it's hard to come up with a balanced bluffing range. would have to be like Qd9x gut-shot or Jx. bad river to bluff regardless so maybe yeah.
h11 seems to be a thing to call 4-bets oop and the sizing was small.

Cheers Make. "meh std w/e" typical losing session :|

h6: when equities change and he gains big range advantage, he should go smaller. depends if he has AJo pre and I'd expect so. then it's easy to play the spot with his range but also sizing should go smaller. I could have the Jx as well so w/e. maybe just fold 77 there, normally I'd fold.
h11: AK has the best hand so often on 943. AcKx AxKc are nice bluffs since they block flush draws.
Playing PP in 4bp is one of the highest level NLHE plays, unless it goes bet x x vs AKo.
and yeah I gotta stop 3-betting PP's since they are very hard to play post-flop oop.

You have odds to flat the 4bet but good luck trying to win the pot without a set. You will just get bullied off the best hand so often in that spot. H5, he is over betting a river that hits your range hard, they bluff so rarely in those spots.

The first hand I was referring to was H2, not h4. The AK you cbet way too small , holding no spades. Either way you need to go broke there.

How balanced do you need to be against these bots? Do they adjust to your play or just play a standard programmed game style? I'm wondering how often you are looking them up, you are probably just over folding. When I started playing zone I was overfolding heaps until I went over hole cards every session and realized I was getting bluffed the majority of the time by bots that aggressively attack capped ranges, and that's just on 50nl.

Tell that to the high stakes regs
At high stakes I assume there's even less 4-betting.
good comment about holding spades w/ AKo.

The bots don't adjust and that's how you find them out lol.
The bots don't run 3 street bluffs once you check the flop. More about taking simple stabs. Otherwise the bots would go broke vs fish.
I would play bots the same as an aggro reg, you gain so much more value by checking than betting yourself.

Here's a story of the month. Little bit of whining and complaining there.
Spoiler:
Been really depressed lately.
Amazing how I have managed to put in 190 hours of non-tilt volume.
Month started with -8k downswing, stayed up late and grinded out of it via one happy whale at 1k. That whale was a god sent. basically "get out of jail for free".
I then managed to go on an upswing and I was up 11-12k at highest.
Since then I have just been losing losing losing. I think I haven't had a proper winning day during last 50k hands. If I won a session, next session I would lose it, or next day.

Up 10k from few selected whales where I had to do nothing to win.
It's just ****ing ridiculous that I've lost -25k vs other players.

Last month up 5.4k HU vs one opponent. Losing vs rest. Whole year is total ****.

I exposed the botting situation for sure. I have now played 500z and I KNOW what the end bosses do and why. Bots != end bosses.
You can't implement bot strategy on reg tables because of the fish and multiway pots, but in Zoom bot strat can be done.

Then I ran extremely EXTREMELY bad with overpairs. KK < AA so many times esp. vs recreationals. I have ran better lately.

Add those 5% river coolers over and over again. That was happening last month, but it kept happening this month as well.

I have lost a lot of money by bluffing. River raises got called multiple times and I might have been better off not doing those raises and just play face up nuts only.
"you don't bluff enough" not true.

3-bet and 4-bet pots have been so bad. Get to the river and make a very tight fold because of the board runout. look that spot in equilab and can't find enough bluffs. very few ppl systematically bluff bottom SDV and it's a huge read if I see that happen.
Otherwise there's a) flush turn b) Ax turn.

some regs have been donating by making very big mistakes I would never do myself, just blindly stacking off worse.

I keep having very bad losses via the red line. Well, I could have folded EVEN MORE.
If I went broke every time my results would be much much worse. unless people are complete idiots and spazz off >400€ stacks with nothing.
I have no problem with my image, people call me light so there's no need to add huge bluffs for image sake. I don't face tank folds OTR never.

In summary all what's going on is an inferiority complex.
"There has to be something special I haven't figured out". Rinse and repeat.
If I had normal month I wouldn't have even thought about most stuff.
vs people who bluff a lot "vs capped range" I start balancing strong hands. Either I got bluffed every time out of the pot, or then people made hands :C

Then there's the fish. I have realized most fish play face up and spew like 10% of the time and you don't have to do anything special when the spew happens.
On euro sites fish never xr flop and turn. On zoom they do it a little bit more. Even then, it always seems to be pair + fd type hand.
I'm hyper paranoid about overfolding vs fish and giving them an edge. Especially vs turn bets, but I think even then >75% of the time it's random pair that bets vs xb, or some very good AJ AT overcard semi-bluff.
River bluffs rarely work, but a turn cb might work 60% of the time. Need to pick spots carefully.

Can fold all day long vs one fish, and then they stack off 200bb with 6th nuts .

Wanted to write something regarding 500z as well and my overall player progression.

As you know the whole year has been really bad. I haven't had easy time.
That can be normal card variance. Sometimes you get the right cards and things work really well for you.
Most of the time that wouldn't be the case, unless you were on a big heater where every session you hit nuts > nuts.

I have done hours and hours of database review and reviewing certain spots. I always analyze biggest losing pots to see if there's anything wrong there.
Looking at most (preflop) spots, I was happy with the results and seemed to be doing well with my overall strat.
So that would mean cards just didn't work out for me.

I started to play more human line ups, first at 400+ iPoker. My WWSF increased right away. At 500z for a while I had even higher WWSF.
Small pots don't mean **** when you have to fold rivers in big 3-bet and 4-bet pots though. Next month I could be on the other side.

I was very underconfident because of the bots. I now realized that: bots, fish, multiway pots and cold calling lead to lower WWSF. All that's relevant in euro sites.

I reviewed stats for zoom as well. I was underconfident for a long time because of certain leaks that I had, but those leaks automatically fixed themselves in Zoom enrivonment.
Overall I like the zoom environment much more than euro sites.
I started to think that I should have never left Stars for the bot infested weak games.

On Stars you have to use your brain a lot. I started to play range vs range again automatically, knowing that my opponents adjust against it. On euro sites it's kinda like I rarely bet >100% pot and skip bluffing some combos. I know there are other players who think the same way. Because of that thought process overbet can actually lose you value. Yes the games can be that weak.

Why are the games weak?
Well, it's about how much you can get away with. If you don't need to table start you get away more with weaker strat. there could be guys who have been making 2-3k every month just by bumhunting so why would they need to change.

I didn't realize just how weak my game had become until I started playing zoom again. I had solid strat overall but there was a lot of weakness in many spots.
I wasn't actively looking for new spots to make money. I didn't have "in-game clicks" about certain spots, only at 1k maybe.
The kind of spots like "Why would he do that. That seems good. That's smart". You only get those spots when playing vs better and better players

So I really wasn't aware of what I was missing or what could I be missing.
If it wasn't for the downswing, who knows if I would have looked into solvers. If I didn't play vs very good opponent, I would not have had clicks about certain spots.

There's different reasons to play poker. Making money is obviously #1.
#2 can be strategic competition or to have fun.
I have to define #2 again.
I have always enjoyed HU. Zoom has same elements where you try to outplay your opponents (including fish). And regs fight back 5x more than euro sites and that allows you to play back.

So overall, my game was definitely behind. About 6 months maybe....
If I continued playing euro sites I would have never figured out which spots.

What I hope will come out of this downswing is a overall winning creative strategy.
I think there's a lot of edges to be had in NLHE and we're definitely not even close to solving the game.
Even if you had solved the perfect exploitative strategy, you would still have games and players who are 2 years behind.

If this thread shows anything, it's the amount of work someone has to put into their game to come up with a winning strategy.

Or then #2) I'm just blindly not aware of something. Am aware of 95% but that 5% brings my overall results down...?

So overall, I'm confident that If I put in the hours I can still achieve high winrate in todays games.
Not sure how much of this is a) run bad b) my OCD c) my OCD bcuz of runbad.

Monetary wise. January was +5.5k.
This month is -15k pre-RB. and maybe like -9k after RB.
That would bring year down to -4-6k. It's relatively small swing for me, especially knowing the amount of OCD **** I have had to deal with.
I could keep playing mid stakes euro sites with new improved strat. I have script and I should be facerolling IF I RUN GOOD.
What I'm thinking about is being more responsible. I'm thinking of playing 100z to lay out groundwork for new strat. This is just to reduce the overall losses and not have any stress. I made so many deposits last month, but -5k not big overall net worth loss. I'm definitely overthinking that loss.

All this time pretty much no spewy tilting.
I have my desperation tilt sometimes where I can't call rivers vs fish or don't have the guts to bluff river vs fish. I don't make desperate calls really without good strategic reasons.
No tilt + good strat = money. Stress is the main tilt inducer for me.
So if things finally started working out, maybe I keep going mid stakes. There just can't be something that I'm blindly unaware of.
We all have our leaks and no one is perfect. What I do well, someone else doesn't consider at all. What he does well, that's something I lack in.
It's up to me to work out the spots that I leak.

We'll see in March. #degenlife

If there's one hand to summarize the whole month it's this one.
He called turn in like 2secs and he has no respect for my game (lol). maybe that's why he called turn so quick as well.

Not a good river. Then again, if it's A of clubs, doesn't that significantly cut down the flush combinations he could have?

You're correct.
Didn't remember that I had Js9x. Lmao. Easier fold then and extremely bad luck.
I think because he doesn't respect my game he's less likely to assume that I make big folds.

---------------------------------------------------------

Worst month of my career.
Very little tilt.
Lost some on MPN, QQ < AK at 1k, and hero called AdTd combo draw 3bp OTT at 1k. No idea how anyone can run this bad.
Most losses have been hero folding in big 4-bet and 3-bet pots as you've seen, and some failed river bluff shoves.
Time to rebuild.

Few positive hands so it's not all misery.

was it a misclick when you called a huge 3bet CO vs BB with JTo?

IIRC, he was 1-2 tabling Hungarian. There's always couple of fish from that part of the world even though you'd assume they are regs.
We're 290bb deep and I have position. Could make something happen.
I got the best possible flop and turn action, shame for that river. His turn play is interesting now that I know he's a reg.

Interested to hear your thoughts on A9s hand from both players perspective. UTG opener in that hand was a recreational but it was my 1st hand vs him, so I could assume he's "one of the regs". BTN is a solid 1-tabling Macao rec. Those 2 reasons could make me flat more pre.
Is 140bb deep enough to take a flop IP? I guess so. This should be my flop so I would expect him to check a lot. I see why he may want to bet QQ for protection OTT vs all the one pair + gs hands, but he doesn't have to, and he may end up value owning himself big time. I also don't see reason to fastplay sets in 4bp.
I thought A9s is one of my best bluff catching combos if he has a bluff. Blocks AA which would be the main betting hand. Not sure if I prefer to call A9s or pair + GS type hands.
Which has more equity, JTs or A9s, I'd guess the latter tbh. I just need him to cold 4b bluff KcQc AcQc AcKc and optimistically QTs KcTc cold 4b bluff. The fact that I'm 3-betting a rec may make him 4b more.
if you wanna know who villain was look at VPIP/PFR and guess

Wonder what happened to OP. He was one of the more active PGCers, updating his thread regularly. Then just suddenly disappears without a trace. No explanation at all.

Does anyone think he went bust/massive downswing? I'd love to know what happened to him. Whether he quit poker, moved up to high stakes or still plays these stakes and forgot to update the thread.

hi.

I'm ok. Took 3 month break from poker. Not broke.
Not sure how much I wanna QQ here and whether that accomplishes anything.
Had burnout, depression, but now I want to get back into business.
No more storage hunters and simpsons, time to get back in the grind.

Client was still crashing a ton, 4 months after reporting the devs finally contact me. Bots still exist. I could have been wrong with few of them, but the most obvious ones are still playing.
So there was no fun reason to keep playing at that time.

I have the opportunity to take a long break so I took that. Still have this cheap ass student appt so costs are nothing :P

I want to get that money making feeling back.
I went through quite many confidence issues. I saw that fish had adapted the 1/3 bet, still it doesn't make them any better. A lot of them are polarized where some of the time they just do random ****. Other times they do get you somehow. Still money to be made in poker.
For a while I just felt like wtf am I doing vs fish. too many limped pots and boring stuff like that.

I want to build my confidence back up so I have been playing some 50nl for easy volume.
Also wanna get back to the gym and see great results.
I have been polarized between doing absolutely nothing (watching storage hunters), but I think ultimately that doesn't make you happy. I think more productive lifestyle will make you happy. If you are depressed it's hard to feel that way, but w/e time to move on.

I want to write this type of post to show how cruel poker can be at times. you are at 12k profit, everything is going your way and then **** just hits the fan big big time. Only lost 5k that month.

Ye very true. Destruction is always just around the corner. When things are going rosey Im almost preparing myself for it to happen these days. Good strategy to drop down and rebuild things a bit. Try and avoid battling bots, and look for plus ev pools, and forget ego.

I'm curious what sites your talking about here (the ones you say have bots on), I know all sites have bots on including PS but I assume some sites are worse than others.

No siht, get your siht together and put in some volume/work.

Watching tv shows for the whole day is super depressive, makes you feels like **** since you don't do anything productive and makes you become even lazier.
