Hey, thanks for the solver work! I much prefer this to your previous post

I'm not overly surprised to see that the three options are very close in EV. I honestly still think that villain's tendencies make it closer to a jam than PIO says, but that's very hard to prove.

I enjoy the strat discussion anyway. I'll try and post more irregular HHs in future.

Nah that's cool, I appreciate the effort you put into solving the spot. And things don't always come across as intended in pure text format. Gl to you too, whatever games you play in! Thanks to everyone else who pitched in with opinions on the hand too.

I final tabled one of the 'Big''s on Stars yesterday (one of the good ones...) but it wasn't to be. We crashed out pretty early despite being 3/9; After running JJ into AA in a spot which is basically unavoidable, I then got my last 10bb in with a pair and didn't win. Pretty standard stuff all around. But it would have been nice to win something that wasn't a turbo/hyper for a change.

Some hands from today:

1) Fun one BvB VS reg

I don't know if this is a thing, but I'd be willing to pay someone a small amount of vig to square up my $EV in online cash games at the end of each month. I pay you the diff if I'm above EV at the end of the month, and vice-versa.

I haven't updated this in a week. Mostly due to being really pretty ill for a few days and then very busy since I started feeling better. I had a fever/manflu thing which lasted from Sunday-Wednesday and just left me feeling super run-down all week. Then Wednesday night I was out for a Nandos and a quiet drink (I could barely manage due to lingering cough/sore throat) with some friends, Thursday I was at a stand-up gig and a dinner with Aimee, Friday I had a charity dinner/auction thing with her work, Saturday we went for a really nice meal at a top local restaurant and then Sunday I had friends over for lunch and to watch the Arsenal v Watford football and Scotland v France rugby match, which ended up being an all day/night affair. It's only on reading this back that I realise how often I appear to eat out. I don't have much planned for this week, so should be able to reign it in and get to playing some poker.

I was able to play the occasional hand (although <5k all week). Some highlights below:

EVBB winrate is at 7.2/100 for the year, which I'm really happy with. Less happy with the actual winrate, but what can you do.

Despite the way that it looks, I'm actually only down around $600 on the day. Guess I won a lot more small pots by being an aggro-spew-monkey.

I feel as if the thread is waning a little. It's really tough to make day-to-day midstakes grinding interesting. So great respect for those who maintain these blogs over a long period of time. I'll maybe have to start photographing some RL stuff or something. For anyone reading, I appreciate it.

At times it's tough to maintain posting but the more you do it the more followers you get and the more enjoyable it becomes - this has been my experience anyway. Definitely try some new things like discussing stuff going on in your life, add photos like you said or share something interesting you've read/seen/thought about that isn't to do with poker.

I'm not sure how often we should keep on bluffing with the A6cc on this particular turn, feels like we don't get nearly enough folds

So over it right now, I'm nearly $10k below EV for my last 15k hands. I know no one likes reading downswingy whining but I need to vent somewhere. Other people talk a lot about running bad, but I've just been consistently way below EV for like 2 straight years now. It's pretty ****ing annoying. Close to $50k now... #whenwillitend

                                            Thanks and thanks, guys.

I was feeling like a bit of a little ***** yesterday. I'm glad I wrote it down though, for cathartic reasons. Poker can be a horrible and unfair game at times, and I don't really want to censor my thoughts in the blog. I'm a mental game fish at times. Truth being told, I've run absolutely terrible in the majority of the biggest pots that I've played online. The AA and KK hand from yesterday being pretty good examples. There's also a good chance that they'll be the biggest pots that I play this month.

I'm still up >$15k on the year, which is a positive. I still feel like I'm playing well for the most part, another positive. Hopefully the results will come and we get our turn at the positive variance.

This morning I got up real early and went out for a walk since it was a great day. I drove Aimee to her work and then came back home and did a few hours of database analysis before playing any hands. I've been looking at the top regulars in my game, the ones who I have big samples on, to see what they do that differs from me and how they handle spots I have trouble with. Hopefully it's not a wasted endeavour, and it's something I'll see value from. I've also been reading YugiohPro's PGC thread, and although I'm not a big MTT guy I find his poker and general life outlook pretty inspiring. Check it out if you haven't already.

Hey, basically in real time I felt it's a flop where I'm incentivised to check a lot. So won't play a lot of my Axcc or AcXx combos this way. Didn't think villain would often be check/raising flops with many front door NFD combos and wasn't sure he would jam Kc here. Probably too far towards the top of my range to fold anyway, without a specific read.I do get to river with ATcc and AJcc, which I'll always play this way.

I've not felt motivated to play, or update really over the past few days. When I have played, things have been going a lot better and I had a nice +$4.5k session this morning. I'm out of the country for a week and a half anyway, so my volume would have suffered regardless. I'm going to spend my down time trying to decide on my plans for both SCOOP and the Sunmer, with regards to poker. Almost certain that I'll be attending EPT Barca, whenever it may be. But other than that it's very up in the air.

Currently keeping a very close eye on the David Baazov indictment situation. I remember having a reasonable chunk of my life roll stuck on FTP throughout the Black Friday saga, and it wasn't a nice feeling. I don't think that's very likely to happen again at all, but there for sure is a non-zero chance of Stars having their Gaming Licenses suspended if there's an ongoing investigation into stock manipulation and insider trading.

On a lighter note; booked a short sun break away to Tenerife with Aimee for mid-May. I'm currently paler than I've ever been in my life, so looking forward to it very much.

Finally got a decent session in this morning of 3.5k hands. That's more than I've been able to play in the last 10 days combined. I was rewarded with a little bit of run good, and won a few BIs. +$5k in the last two days, which I felt as if I needed after being pretty down about poker in general in the past week. I wish I could do something about all of my mental game frailties, but I've tried reading MGoP a few times now and every time I do I find my self rolling my eyes. It's the same thing with basically any self help book, I can't take them seriously.

A number of my hands from today seem to have vanished, which is a shame as there were some good ones! HH converter seems to be busted again, but I can post this nice little cooler from today

I had an interesting trouble spot come up today, that Id like opinions on. Kind of want to ignore pre-flop, as in hindsight I don't think SQZ is a good option. But thoughts on flop play/sizing if we want to bet would be nice.

Rec opens to $12.50 UTG, good reg flats CO, I SQZ to $70 from the SB with 67 and the BB (whale) cold calls. Everyone else calls and we go 4 way to the flop.

                                            Flop ($280)
                                            9T3

                                            HERO?

                                            SPR is roughly 1.5/1

I'm going to solver it, but before I do id be interested to hear some thoughts.

think just ripping flop can't be too bad, if whale is aggro probably x/j instead

I think shoving would be the better play, can't really use a solver for this hand given it's 4 way

Chk/jam kinda sucks here in my opinion. Given that the action will often go x/b/call(call?) or x/b/j and we want to be generating all the FE we can here. Jam seems like the obvious choice, but it's kind of awkward given our range vs relative ranges on this texture. Generally when we get called its by better draws and sets, so over pairs don't really want to rip it here. Depends what we do with TT pre I guess. Check/call seems weird, but checking in general has a big benefit in that everyone is forced to play pretty straight forward on the texture.
