Haha fair enough, can't hate on the idea of 10 days or so chilling on a beach in the Seychelles.

Thanks my man!

-------------------------------------

Today's graph; played very well again and minimized my desire to put the cape on against nits. The games were absolutely AMAZING this afternoon, so hopefully that's a small sign that it'll be a juicy summer.

My old man is retiring next week, so going to pop along to his retirement do for a few hours tonight. There are some rumours of a big live game kicking off tonight, with a couple of moneybags punters in town. So will likely fire along to that afterwards and see what's what.

Seems likely that BTC is gearing up for a hefty bull-run. There was a tonne of sell order resistance on the $8500 level, and it broke through that today. If we close out above that level then its a very good sign, and so probably a good time to get in if you're not already. It's about to be like motherfkn Pamplona in here.

There is so much fkn absolute garbage in the cryptosphere. Just hundreds of shill coins with zero intrinsic value. Pretty sure crypto fomo is back on the cards in a big way right now.

So I fired down and played some live poker last night. Had a really good night actually, with lots of friendly faces in and around the poker room, managed to win a bit of money too, while getting tanked up on beers and whisky, in a fairly spicy £2/4/8/(16) game. Couple of hands below:

          1) VIP Macao lady limps the HJ and decent reg who I'm friends with isos the CO to 30, I go ahead and 3b the Q3dd from the BTN to 80. Think flatting here is actually fine, given that the blinds are pretty passive at this point and I want to be playing many many hands in position vs Macao. But decide to 3b and just win the money vs two very weak ranges. Anyway, somehow Macao calls and reg folds and we have the dream.

Flop is the glorious QQ3ss and I fire out a quick half pot and she calls in stride. Turn 8x and I decide betting like 33% is very good, as Macao is an absolute tellbox and its a spot where I can basically just look at her and decide if she has a Q here, or if I can just comfortably bet a million on the river. Anyway, she calls very quick again after absolutely no deliberation, so figure I'm winning here always. River comes down Ax and I go ahead and rep the bluffs and target her Axss combos and bet 110% pot. She tanks a good long while and flicks it in and mucks.

          2) Macao goes to the bar (and gets a round in for the lads like the champ that she is) and we're left playing 3 handed for a short while. So I'm the £8 on the BTN and SB decides he wants to gamble it up and flicks in the £16 straddle lmao. Floor shrugs and allows this madness, so action is on BB who opens to £45. I look down at AQo and 3ball him to £150, before the SB wakes up with a quick 4b to £350 or so. Effective stacks at this point are £1500 or so, and although I don't really want to play a £3k aipf pot against a reg in what started out as a £1/2 game (rofl), this is just an absolute slam dunk vs his range, which given the preflop circumstances are going to be pretty hefty. So I to it in and unfortunately he calls it off in stride with the 77. We run it twice and I river and ace on both boards to scoop.

Dusted off some of profit getting a bit OOL in certain reg vs reg spots once the game filled, but finished up with about £1.5k winnings.

Games were absolutely amazing to begin with today, so put in a decent session despite feeling very tired after a late one grinding last night (no cigar in the Milly unfortunately). Got stacked pretty much every time I was all in pre, but still a decent session.

Watched the last episodes of The Defiant Ones while I was getting my lunch, too. Absolutely top notch documentary on Netflix right now, if anyone is interested. If you have even a remote interest in music culture then its a must see.

Played like complete braindead trashbags today. Found myself in a few spots postflop, where I'd just taken really passive, auto-pilot lines preflop in really easy squeeze spots or whatever. Games were pretty good again for the most part, but definitely deserved to lose more money than I did today!

Have a gym session tonight with trainer, and generally feel more mentally sharp after that. Feel so fkn weak after being really lazy with the gym since getting back from honeymoon, so quite looking forward to lifting the heavy things.

How is A6ss a mistake? Hand has so much equity vs everything, you dont need thay many folds, also its nice to put villains double barreling on check so he has to think twice about overbluffing there.

Yeah if he goes it'll be for a wedge of money. But I hope they hold onto him, as I like watching him play in the Prem every week.

Pretty sure we just don't want to have the As in our hand, jamming 6xss and combo draws should yield higher EV.

Today's graph. Kinda sucks to close out the day in a trough, but am meeting a mate for dinner in an hour. Felt I played a lot better today and got into some really good spots vs recs, where I didn't win. Still, happy with pretty much all hands I have reviewed and really enjoyed the grind again today.

Back on the writing grind for the last few days, and have written some stuff that I really like. I basically binge read Shantaram in about 3 days, and was really inspired to write up some travel blog stuff from my many weird and wonderful trips overseas. Not quite what I want to do with it yet, but if I work that out, then I may start posting some of my stuff in here again.

April in the books. I had the first 8 days of the month off, with honeymoon and stuff, but could still have played more. Ran kinda bad in EV and also situationally I think, barring one or two sessions. Break even over my last 100k hands, so fingers crossed for some heat in the summer months.

I turn 29 in a week's time, so officially getting old as fk at an increasingly quick rate. This year has been a pretty big one for me, with the wedding and also buying our new house. So turning 29 currently feels like a bit of a non-event. Like a small stepping stone on the way to 30.

I'll be in London on Wednesday night, and was planning on playing some live cash at probably the Vic, so if anyone plans on being in and about then hit me up and we can grab a beer.

Solid start to the month of May. Tables were absolutely horrific early on, but got a lot better throughout the day. Playing the schedule I'm on right now is no doubt costing me a lot of money, but I do enjoy being able to live a semi-normal lifestyle. If the current trend keeps up though, then I may start playing more evening pools.

                                                          -----------------

                                                          End Game

Lately I've started thinking about the eventual transition out of poker, and what that will mean for me. I still have tonnes of love for the game, and the 9-5 grind is obviously a pretty hard sell for anyone who has done this for any length of time. But I do eventually (next 1-3yrs) see myself losing that love and looking for another challenge. I'm at a weird stage, where, perhaps like a lot of my peers, I'm fortunate enough to be very well rolled for the games I play in, but not sure I have the heart (or ability?) to move up and battle it out at the higher echelons. I think even voicing this question speaks volumes, but could be wrong there? If I had to make a real run at it, it would be in cushy high stakes live games anyway. I have a lot of stamina for live poker, even if I do hate the lifestyle quite a bit.

While I'm still playing poker, I'm also trying to keep a good chunk of my non-poker net worth active and accumulating. I kinda have a number in mind that I want to hit, but I've also had numbers in the past, and every time they get superseded by a newer, bigger number, so who know if this one sticks. Either way, the current number should give me enough of a financial cushion to kind of work out the next stage of my life on the fly, without having to worry about mortgage payments, etc. I'm a chartered planning engineer, and a qualified project manager (areas that I've worked on while playing poker), but I'm not sure I can see myself stepping into either of those roles, unless it's in something entrepreneurial. I also own a sizeable non-controlling stake in a small project services company, but likewise, my heart doesn't lie there.

Without being too blunt though, when it comes to actual cold, hard cash, I have a number in mind, and then I have another Crypto best case scenario number. And one is a lot bigger than the other. There are also a realm of other numbers in between, representing alternate Crypto outcomes. I feel as if the fates of certain Crypto could make or break a lot of us, and IMO, that's probably the correct play. You'd be daft not to be at least a little over extended right now. It's potentially the greatest money making opportunity of our lifetimes, and should we have another 2017 Q3-Q4 in the right sectors (ONE ****ING TIME), then I might have to re-evaluate this entire post.

So if people don't mind sharing, I thought it might be cool to have a bit of an open air discussion on post-poker plans? No need to share exact figures (unless you really want to, of course), but to know if others out there have an end-game in mind, and what that might be, could be cathartic. So, the floor is yours' PGC, what's next?

Anyway, off to play some live poker. Food for thought, if nothing else...
