Thanks boss!

Short session today as I was asked to do a 2hr presentation at my former uni (gulp). Non-poker related, before anyone asks. Think it went OK, I'm not the world's greatest public speaker, but managed to get through it. Shall be politely declining any future requests though haha.

Indeed, shorting now in the short term. Expecting correction to 4750 or so after the fork.

Maybe right by a 100pts or so, but the spreads suck over the weekend so pretty negligible I think.

So Swell didn't have quite the impact on XRP price that I was hoping. Guess I'm in for the long hold now. I still have faith in the product and it's applicability, hopefully we see a bump in price after the escrow is secured.

BTC looking bearish. Not dropping at the level I had anticipated, but think I'll hold the short a while longer and get back in with some new buy entries if it drops below $4800.

Graph since my last update, still running good at 200 and getting demolished at 500. I've not been pool selecting 500 very well either, so I'm looking to improve on things there. Fairly sure I'm winning in the games overall though, but we will see.

Purdy much, gotta know when the dip is breaking though. That's the hard bit.

              -------------------------------------

Another day in the books. Pretty happy that I turned it around, despite playing pretty punty early on in my session. Hopefully I'm able to make the 500z thing stick, as the achievable hourly is so much better. I also find it somewhat fun? or interesting I guess to play, where 200 and below felt a lot like a grind to me.

BTC made a rebound back up to $6k and bounced again. Really, really surprised that there hasn't been a bigger pullback, but I'm still fairly certain it's coming. I hope so anyway, as I want to get some more money into it, but not at this price.

No good hands for today, so that is all.

Telling a newbie to buy the dip is bad advice, unless you are some well researched Cryto savant you will not time it correctly. Just buy a hardware wallet (Trezor) and asap load up as much money you can withstand losing. GL

This doesn't really make sense. You're basically saying it's bad advice to try and buy at a low, but good advice to just load up regardless of the price.

I kind of agree with him. May be wrong, but pretty sure I remember from Uni lots of studies proving that even experts are incapable of systematically predicting short term price movements without inside information. So basically without hindsight it's impossible in developed markets, and very hard in crypto to actually call the dip.

Like for EG the bolded part of this statement, why? Not trying to be a dick, genuinely interested in hearing an argument, as you already know I am a staunch believer in the power of the markets though haha.

Like for EG the bolded part of this statement, why? Not trying to be a dick, genuinely interested in hearing an argument, as you already know I am a staunch believer in the power of the markets though haha.
Just answering the second half of this statement here; basically when the last BTC fork happened, you were getting equivalent value of whatever you had in BTC back in BTC Gold tokens (worth roughly 0.07BTC/per token, or $400). Essentially free money for investors riding out the fork. Now, if the price suddenly takes a dive, directly after the fork, a lot of that 'free' money gets eaten up by the price divergence. Therefore I was expecting a lot of the big buyers to dump almost immediately post fork to maximise their gains.

There's another fork into BT2x happening in a few weeks time, so potentially people are holding for that.

Played super good today IMO. Was really switched on throughout and battled pretty hard for pots. Booked a nice win too after a pretty swingy start to my session.

Some hands, since I didn't have any yesterday.

Out tomorrow night with some friends for the boxing and maybe too many drinks, so we shall see what the weekend brings in terms of volume. I expect it'll be slack overall until the new year though, as I have a million and one things on before then.

PE worded it better than me but ya in theory you are correct, obviously buying low is optimal. I am just saying that in practice, the short term is incredibly hard to predict and as a result most are better off buying asap rather than waiting for a dip that may or may not happen.

And no i havent played seriously this whole year, i am retired from poker. Traveled through Europe in the summer and now i am hoping my crypto run good continues bc i have a large % of my $$$$ tied into BTC. So its pray4jajaja if it tanks
