Had the legend that is blakkman and couple of other cool cats at my table for the Estrellas Main. Blakk had position on me but was too busy catching Magikarps most of the day, so table was pretty good and soft. Nice to actually have some people to talk to at the table, only had one hoody/sunnies warrior.

Unfortunately lost a bunch of hands involving AK in a row to go 150bb to 0bb in an orbit.

Showered back to the €5/5 games, hope this goes better!

So, been grinding the live cash since I busted the main, and for the most part it's been going well. I've played about 60/40 between €5/5 and €5/10. There's a pretty huge spread of game quality from table to table, but there's no way to table select unless you're a Barca reg, so it's kinda just down to the luck of your seat draw.

Lists are HUGE. 400+ for 5/5 at 2pm yesterday, and they only open 8 tables at a time. To anyone coming here to grind cash, be prepared for some early starts or some looooong waits. The 5/10 and 10/20 games that I have played in have been pretty serious mode. Lots of sunglasses being worn, pre flop tanking and awful 3bet sizings. 5/5 games in general are more people drinking and talking, which (for me) makes a much more enjoyable playing experience.

Won about €1800 so far at cash. Few hands below:

1) I open BTN to 15, BB old man fish 3bets to 30 and I call 85hh. 800eff. Flop 679ssc he checks and I bet 50, he raises to 150 and I 3bet the flop to 420. He thinks for a little and calls. Turn is Jc and he checks, I go all in and he calls with T8o and we don't find a chop on the river.

2) Really bad loose passive French guy opens MP to 30 and regish guy flats BTN. I 3bet KK to 180 in the SB and they both call. 1.8k eff. Flop KT4 I check and they check around. Turn 8s brings a BDFD and a few draws, I lead 385 into 550 and fish asks how much it is, looks really happy about the whole thing and calls. River Ad, I go all in for little over pot and he calls quick with 88.

3) I 3bet the same guy 3 times in 15 minutes, twice I cbet flop and he folds and the other time I take it down pre, and every time I show him the 4d (45dd/45dd/A4dd). He opens again and I 3bet AQo on the BTN. BB calls and he calls. Flop A45r they check to me and I bet 50 into 150 and both call. Turn Ks brings a FD and again they check, I bet 165 this time and BB calls. River bricks off 8d and BB checks, I bet 255 and he calls and mucks.

There's been some other fun ones, but no time right now. Will update again tomorrow. Off to chill out on the beach and have a few cocktails.

lmao that 85 vs T8 is one of the grossest, maybe I'm stereotyping but how does he manages to have T8o in a range that is supposed to be exclusively AA

Haha I know right? He even made me turn over my hand and then gave me the 'I have........better!' slow roll. So brutal.

Nah, hard to be tilted about something so ridiculous. I actually found it hilarious in real time. Though I was working on 2hrs sleep at the time.

Ended the session with 5200, so +€4400, but didn't get a final stack photo as my phone was hanging on at 1% battery.. I'm winning about €4900 at cash so far for the trip, down €1600 at tournaments.

Some hands for yday:

1) BTN straddle in play, I open black KK to 35, BTN calls and French lady BB makes it 140. I 4! to 305 and she calls. About 2k eff. Flop 556ccs she checks, I bet 180 and she calls v quick. Turn 9d she checks, I check back. River 6d she checks, I bet 675 and she call/mucks.

2) I open 67hh to 15 and Norway reg 3! BTN to 65, I call. Flop 24Jh, I check, he bets 40 and I raise to 125. Turn Kh I continue 290 and he tank calls. River Ah () and I tank a while and bet 1k. He thinks for 3/4 mins and flicks in a call.

3) UTG opens to 30 with straddle in play, I call 89cc in the CO and SB 3! to 110 (lol). BB is French lady from hand 1 and she cold calls quick. UTG folds and I call. Flop 89Qr and SB leads 170, BB sticks her stack in (about 500) and I call. SB folds and I win vs AA.

4) Nit reg opens MP to 30 and I 3! A3hh on the BTN to 100. He calls quick about 1.2 eff. Flop J62ssh he checks and I continue 65 and he calls. Turn 4h he checks again, we bet 315 and he folds.

Coolered a guy for 100beebs with TT vs AQ on AT4ss Q X also.

Lol just stacked some fishy Spanish man who calls himself The Pirate in a €5k pot at €5/5.

I'm Mississippi straddle and he opens CO to 30 and I make it 95. He 4bets to 240 and I call with 78dd. Flop 67Td he continues 350 and we call. Turn 9x he tanks for ages and bets 525 and I call. River 4x and he snap rips the rest in, we call and he has AKo.

Decided to change my flight and came home last Thursday instead of staying for the last week. I enjoyed the time in Barca and made a decent wedge of cash, but was just feeling super burnt out at the end of it. A lot of the guys I spoke to were flicking the odd tourney in, but mostly just holidaying and enjoying the beach. I literally put in 12+hr shifts every day at the tables. Was so worn out by the end of it, and really missing home and my girl. Obviously it would have been nice to take it easy out there, but I've already been on a few nice holidays this year, and saw Barca as a good opportunity to maximise an hourly that you can't make online.

I'll do a full write up soon. Cliffs; met some really cool people, played a **** ton of poker, won a bunch at cash, bricked some MTTs.

Peace.

06/09

Had a fun day of proper grinding online today, pretty much the first session of note that I've put in since July. It felt good to be back at the tables and we had a bunch of early runs in our MTT session - including the Big $82, the early Super Tuesday and the Big $44. Ran pretty bad situationally when deep in all three, but it was nice to get some FTs and win some money.

Played about 3/4hrs of $1/2 zoom on the side and played a few interesting pots, some of which I'll post below. At the moment I don't think there's enough value in the 500z pools to justify playing there, so I'm pretty happy to chill and let my ego rest.
