Today's graph. Games were good and had a few nice setups. Almost back in profit for the month, and have decided to change my charity goals. If I make $3k or more at the tables over December then I'll up my dono from $500 > $1k. Still looking for some good suggestions on charities, so if anyone is well versed on the subject, please drop some knowledge.

Played some live poker last night, which was kinda fun for a change. Played an interesting one where I squeezed K8hh on BTN to 65 over 10/call, and got cold called by reg BB and flatted by CO original cold caller. Went 40%/125%/overbet jam for 250bb eff on QT6h Jx 2x vs the CO and got it through/showed the 8h for image purposes.

Later on in the night took a pretty similar line against semi reg thing with QcJx on AcKcTx 6c Ax and got stationed by Ax7c for a big one.

Some hands from today:

Haha actually forgot about a hand from live cash last night that was one of my all time favs.

Super nit (88+ AJs+) opens to 20 MP and gets two flats, I flat BTN with Q7cc and BB calls. Flop 7xJc3x and it checks around. Turn 4h brings bdfd and checks to the super nit OR who bets 30 into 120. Turkish guy on his left who mashes pot with anything good calls pretty quick and I make it 145 on the BTN. Turkish bro calls. River 2x and he thinks for maybe 5 second before open ripping for roughly pot. I insta-hyper-super snap call and he shows a 4 and mucks.

I have found myself fixated with Crypto's the last few days, which is a problem when your only micro grinder . Do you think it's worthwhile me jumping on the bandwagon, when I can only invest like £200-300? , because kinda on the fence about it, one side says well you started playing poker with a $50 deposit, but then the other side looks at the table on coinmarketcap, and am thinking **** everything as rocketed, I'll wait for a dip.

When you say that you are getting sidetracked with Crypto's, what does that involve exactly, are you making loads of trades in day, or do you mean researching coins?.

Dan Smith runs a great charity drive that I donated to last year.

He's doing it again this year and is matching donations up to $1m.

Yeah I actually do a considerable amount of day-trading. Getting more interested in trading the tech stock market also, as its something that I inherently know quite a bit about WRT important personnel changes and the hype train.

I'd basically recommend to anyone with any sort of expendable income, to get at least a little bit invested in the Crypto market. The ROIs that are achievable, are such that you just won't have access to them in any other sort of market. Dash, as an example, has offered up an 11500% 52wk return this year. I'll let you do the maths on that one... It's a bit like being in on the internet before the internet.

On your final point, about getting better at investing in Crypto: Right now, its basically shooting fish in a barrel, but there are things you can do to extend the market edge even further. Reading a lot, for one. Try and actually understand the tech behind coins you're interested in. Its a highly competitive and soon to be a highly saturated market. A lot of the alts do very similar things, so the most efficient, cost effective and well marketed ones are going to be the ones that don't zero out in the future.

Thanks for the suggestion, I really like the idea of the matched donations. I remember hearing about this on a Joe Ingram podcast last year, but didn't realise he was running it again this year.

Pretty solid morning session. Got some unexpected free time this evening, so will put in another session to get the volume up. Imagine it'll be slacking given that its nearly Christmas and will have lots to do.

Mid-month update, just because I was able to get out of it today. Almost reached the goal for my charity upper limit donation, so hopefully we can find some more heat and get there. Although TBH, I'll probably do the full $1k regardless, because I've done so well in Crypto this month, and don't feel deserving of the money at all.

          1) Extremely balanced line vs special player.

            --------------------------

Went gigging in Glasgow Monday night, and saw Fiver Finger Death Punch; who TBH aren't really my usual scene, but the concert was awesome. I've got some pretty varied musical tastes though, and they were supported by In Flames, who I'm a huge fan of. Nice to get the metal fix in at least once a year, just because the concerts are so much fun. There was some hero in the pit throughout the concert, who was legit like 7'2" and about 350lbs, wearing a tank-top that just said 'PIT TROLL' on it and picking anyone who fell over in the pit with one hand and just placing them back on their feet. 5FDP got him up on stage to sing a song at one point as a thank you, which was pretty cool.

In other news, booked 4 nights away in Slovenia with Aimee between Xmas and New Year, so best get some volume in now.

                    --------------------------------

Crypto has been absolute outrageous this month, like way beyond any expectations good. In December alone, my ROI has been very close to 200%. Before the pull back I was up $50k+ which I just had not accounted for the possibility of at all. Super nice to just finish the year off with an absolute bang though, and will spend some down time over the festive period considering plans for next year WRT investing.

                    2017 Roundup

Zoom graph since coming back, so roughly 3.5 months worth of hands here. Very happy overall with my results and hopefully this is something I can carry forward and continue to build on into the New Year. On top of cash game results, I've made about $18k in MTTs, and then with Crypto/stocks inclusive, profit since the thread reboot is a little over $100k. Some resolutions for next year:

                    1) Play a minimum of 45k hands per month, for at least 10months of the year
                    2) Play more 200z when the 500z fields are at their toughest
                    3) Start shotting some $1kNL+ lineups
                    4) Make more poker friendships, and discuss more HHs
                    5) Continue to work 5-10hrs/wk in PIO
                    6) Play less MTTs

If we don't speak before then, then I wish everyone an excellent Xmas and New Year. See you all in 2018!

Thanks Harvey, same to you! Have to do some thinking regarding my end '18 predictions, but I think next year is the year we see real make or break with the Alts, so good chance at least one of them is zero'd!

Thanks man, glgl to you too. Poker results obviously paling in comparison to the Crypto gains, but I'm really really happy with them. If I can continue to win at 5bb/100h in tough tough games I'll be a happy man!

                    One could indeed say that.

They're just really time/effort consuming for me, and yield a pretty low hourly. Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy MTTs (ikr...) but currently find myself sometimes playing stupid stuff like the Hot $27 on the side of 3/4 zooms, which takes away from my attention at cash and is just not clever at all.
