Some people have been asking why we always moan when players play reg games and don't settle buttons fairly.
It seems like spoiled kids moaning over nothing, so I'll illustrate just how much EV I lost because of it last year/
Filtered for 2018, 2k+
*There's fewer UTG/MP/CO hands because not all games are 6handed
I played 3.929 fewer buttons than big blinds. Let's round it up and say 4.000 buttons.
Let's use 35bb win rate, as I had 35.82bb win rate OTB last year at 2k+.
Let's say average stake is NL5k, as that is the stake where I've played the most reg games, and it's roughly in between 2k and 10k.
35bb/100 * 40 = 1400bb loss * 50 usd = 70k
So last year, I lost roughly 70k by not having played as many buttons as big blinds.
Of course you can't always settle evenly and you want to keep the game running so you get in more +EV hands, but lots of players try and take advantage of it to the point where you lose serious amount of money.
