Already cold enough at home, had to go back to Malta today.
It's full of snow in The Netherlands. My dog does love it, though.

Some people have been asking why we always moan when players play reg games and don't settle buttons fairly.
It seems like spoiled kids moaning over nothing, so I'll illustrate just how much EV I lost because of it last year/

Filtered for 2018, 2k+

*There's fewer UTG/MP/CO hands because not all games are 6handed

I played 3.929 fewer buttons than big blinds. Let's round it up and say 4.000 buttons.
Let's use 35bb win rate, as I had 35.82bb win rate OTB last year at 2k+.
Let's say average stake is NL5k, as that is the stake where I've played the most reg games, and it's roughly in between 2k and 10k.

35bb/100 * 40 = 1400bb loss * 50 usd = 70k

So last year, I lost roughly 70k by not having played as many buttons as big blinds.
Of course you can't always settle evenly and you want to keep the game running so you get in more +EV hands, but lots of players try and take advantage of it to the point where you lose serious amount of money.

No, but I almost never play HU.
When I did, I also got grimmed. Mostly by **** face Jake Schindler.

I actually never researched any of it today. I checked because I was curious.
Played about 1k hands today and I am down 17 buttons. I thought it was going to be between 1-5.

This is obviously not true. Every time you play a HU-hand, even if you are not grimmed, it will add to one more BB played than BTN as PT4 calculates BTNs played in HU as SBs.

jfc think about how ridic it would have been for you to on average lose 12 btns a day in ring games, i assume most days you dont even play that many tables

Was a bit lazy and didn't filter it, but the difference is still very significant and the EV loss is high.
The reason you get grimmed a lot in reg games is because the lineup changes all the time. People sit out and then you play more blinds before they sit in again, they leave early or they leave when others join.
Probably about 6 table changes per table over 1 session, and then you usually play 1-5 tables, sometimes multiple session, plus regular tables.
I often just sit out when open sitting out of laziness, which is probably -EV because I miss free hands and always have to start in the BB. That's something I should just fix myself.

On networks like Micro where you can't import hands, it's even worse.
