Hey everyone,
I had a blog back in 2015 but it got kind of stale and I stopped blogging. But I am back!
New year, new chances, and I am very motivated to play and win!
2015 recap
Frankly, last year was a disappointment. I started the first half of the year very well and was well ahead of my 250k goal (see: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...-250k-1499122/).
But after summer, I basically ran like dog **** at high stakes, while running fine at 500 Zoom. I wasn't very motivated to play Zoom either ,with all the SNE grinders and with less on the line.
A couple of months ago, I moved to Sliema with one of my old roommates, which is a huge upgrade to our old apartment.
We started a coaching project and one of our students just moved in with us.
Coaching players has definitely helped me keep thinking about the game and I enjoy it a lot. It's great to help people improve and try to reach their goals.
2016
My grinding approach for 2016 will be very different from last year's.
I now play a lot of extra volume on other networks and try to bumhunt as hard as I can.
Stars games have gotten a lot better because a lot of regs are gone, so I still play most of my volume there, though.
I still sometimes play a reg game because the EV is high enough and because I want to hold tables in the future.
Though I miss playing 3handed and 4handed games, which I think I am better at than 6max, There are still plenty of great players at the 6max table to keep you sharp.
But this year's main goal is to just grind out steady monthly results, and avoid big down swings.
Being one of the best is still a goal I want to achive. Until a month ago, I never did off the table work, other than watching training videos.
Now, I want to study every day and improve a lot, while maintaining a steady grind.
The year has been awesome so far. I ran terribly at high stakes again at first, but I have been running very hot for a couple of weeks now.
The volume has gone down a bit because I never took a real break from a poker, but I plan on picking it up again and make sure I grind at least 2,000 hands a day.
I will be posting some hands, thoughts and occasionally some results.
Please do not post my Stars screen name in this thread or in any other threads. Mods will delete those posts anyway.
