Two hours into my second bullet, I was moved to a new table.
The floor man pointed me to the new table and put me right in between Mexican and Isildur.
That was pretty akward, but then Mexican got moved after 20 minutes. Right around the time I stopped being giddy about the fact that I was playing with Isildur.
Then I embarrassed myself by misplaying a big hand.
CO, who looked like a reg, opens and continues watching his series, Isildur flats SB and I defend QTo in the BB.
Flop QQ7cc
CO bets 20% pot, Isildur raises in about 5 seconds and I decided to cold call my trips, even though it is pretty obvious what I have.
Turn 4c
Isildur checks quickly, I check and the CO quickly looks up and checks behind.
River Tc
Isildur checks and I fuc ked up by checking as well.
CO probably only bets with the Ac or better and he likely would have folded AA OTF and bet an Ahigh flush draw OTT, so I am mostly targetting AQ.
He checks behind, Isildur tables the Ac and I roll my eyes and table the nuts.
I was dead wrong about my read on the CO. He was a very creative player, and he ended up busted by jamming 72o in the CO over a single open raise, for around 30bb.
During the break, I was chatting with Bit2Easy outside the casino.
He'd become BFFs with Mexican, so he came up to us and started chatting.
After a few minutes, he asks if I play online.
I responded by saying I play live tournaments because I was not interested in getting into an argument with three minutes left on my break.
Bit2Easy quickly responded by saying "oh no, he plays online cash as well", so I rolled my eyes and said "Yeah, I also play cash games. I'm Fillismies on Stars", with a Dutch accent.
He believed me, we shook hands and I checked my phone.
My screen saver is my Stars avatar, I just turned my phone while looking. I'm still not sure whether or not he saw it, but Bit2Easy burst out laughing and we went back to the tournament area.
I met Mexican few years back and he also seemed like a nice guy, but it's hard to not resent someone who has made 5 figures by grimming people on purpose, which in my opinion is just stealing.
Back to the tournament and I busted my second bullet a few hours later. SB jammed 13bb with no ICM and I called A6s and lost against K4s.
I lost every single all in flip or I got sucked on and bricked every single tournament of the series.
Shout out to Viana, which is a restaurant at the La Rambla square, and Casa Mexicana at the beach. Those places were both amazing. I went to the Mexican plaxe three times in eight days and I may go again tonight.
Tomorrow evening, I will be flying back to Malta.
Time to grind hard and eat well, until I go to Barcelona.
Bit2Easy quickly responded by saying "oh no, he plays online cash as well", so I rolled my eyes and said "Yeah, I also play cash games. I'm Fillismies on Stars", with a Dutch accent.
