I purchased the Ethereum, although I'm about to start mining it as well. I know it's too late in the game to get any sort of good ROI on hardware investment, but I happen to need a new desktop, so I ordered one knowing I can offset at least some of the cost via mining while also giving myself a fun hobby project to geek out on. I'm going to set that up to mine for the next few months and then migrate over to it later in the year for personal use when mining dries up.

I suppose that makes sense, as when there are 10x more poker players than normal at the casino they can't all be regs, but I don't play a lot of live tournaments so my initial thought was "wow where the heck did they all come from?". That was good for the investment. On the bad side, the tournament structure was too shallow, and I underestimated the impact of that. I still am confident I had a nice edge, but I have to be realistic about the fact that limited deep stack play limited the theoretical edge I could exercise on the field.
Anyways, thanks again guys for the action!

Ya, I got hammered with a similar amount. I planned on leaving an hour early to allow extra time for slow travel. What I didn't properly plan for was the fact that PIECE OF CRAP City of Rochester would not bother to plow my street. I live on a low traffic side street that connects between two normal streets, both of which were plowed (albeit poorly), but my street didn't have a SINGLE plow pass through all night or morning by the time I went to leave. I live four houses from the corner. I called the casino, and unfortunately the entry was non refundable, non transferrable, and they also couldn't switch me to the sold out Day 1b entry. Ugh. So, I literally had to SHOVEL ONE LANE OF THE ENTIRE STREET from my house down to the corner. I was busting my ass, drenched with sweat, and the entire back breaking process took me over 1.5 hours. I finally cleared a path, rinsed off in the shower, and was on my way. The local roads were a disaster, with many roads closed and vehicles stuck in the ditches on the side of the road everywhere. Once I got to the thruway, the travel was mostly fine though. I ended up arriving to the casino about 35 minutes late, and by the time I got seated I was 45 minutes late to the tournament, so I missed the first blind level. Sorry about that guys, but I definitely tried my hardest to get there given the circumstances. I was SO MAD at the plow guys for not even giving one single pass down my street. My girlfriend texted by about 1pm saying they finally came through for the first time. In retrospect it's kind of funny, picturing the scene of me frantically shoveling away in the middle of the road in the middle of a terrible snowstorm so I could go PLAY POKER, all the while my girlfriend is periodically coming out to tell me that this is crazy and dangerous and I should really reconsider one more time if it's really worth it.
At the time, however, I was not amused.

The difference is pretty minimal due to the significant overlap but I'll always go with the fund I expect to be the highest returning w/ comparable risk.
Thanks for the tip. I might end up splitting a portion of my S&P into that.
